Official Donald Trump for President thread (7 Viewers)

All joking aside, this thread has been about morbid fascination, depressing moments, and realizations about the ignorance of some of our fellow Americans.

Trump's polling reached historic pathetic lows and this thread, for about 200 pages, has been about enjoying the complete meltdown a of a horrible person, who would have been happy to dismantle the planet's stability if it meant 5 more minutes of television coverage.

Someone find me a thread with more joy in it over the last 30 days.

This thread isn't serious business.  This thread is laughing at a clown.
:goodposting:

Trump is a complete and utter idiot, and a bigot, and just a genuinely horrible person. Neither he nor anyone actually believing that he should be President should be taken seriously.

Nope, but carry on.
Unpack then. You have always seemed like a reasonable guy, if someone that I disagree with 100% politically. You're not who I'm referring to here BTW either. What about Trump, his "policy positions," and his supporters is worth taking seriously or having genuine dialogue with?

Since Trump is going through the vetting process for the job, in which, he is applying for, it must be tough for him to be vetted like he is so far. This is a job that is arguably, the most powerful job in the world, and he is going to stand up there and speak the way he does? And, people are going to vote for this guy? That, right there, is the remarkable part about all of this. People will actually vote for him AND the same party turned down a guy, like Kasich, who, at least, appeared to be much more presidential. Eight years ago I figured I'd be lucky to see a black person be the president of the US. I could almost say that about a woman but it seems to be a foregone conclusion. I never thought I'd be worried that a crazy SOB might be president. Holy crap Republicans. Do you not even realize what he would do to global relations alone?

I'm not down with the small handful of posts that are classist, but the vast majority of this stuff is totally harmless and funny.  Not to mention true.  You and I both know that there's a 99% correlation between "people who don't understand why white people can't say the N word but rappers can say it all the time" and "people who are voting for Trump."
I don't agree. I'm sure there are plenty that are Hillary supporters and some that don't follow politics at all. But carry on with looking down at them all.

Respect the thread, your fellow posters, and fellow Americans.
On a serious note @Eminence, I think it's relatively clear that the people in this thread pointing out Trump's utter lack of knowledge and qualifications to be president are showing much more respect for their fellow Americans than either Trump or his followers do.  If you don't believe it, go find yourself a Gold Star family, a Muslim, a former POW or a woman and ask them.

It just seemed like an opportunity to pile on and make fun of a segment of society.

Some perspectives don't deserve to be taken seriously. Supporting an ignorant thin-skinned bigoted misogynistic snake oil salesman for president falls into that category.

If by "coming together" you mean giving the bigots who support Trump a place at the grown up table, then we're just going to disagree.
Look, I know you are just trying to rile up Em and you mostly schtick but when you make blanket statements like that it really ruins any credibility you have.  I "get" why you don't like Trump, just like I "get" why people don't like Hillary.  As a republican I am not happy Trump is our nominee but I would rather have Trump win than the alternative in Hillary.

I am also warming up to the idea that Hillary winning (likely) will wake up America when they realize her policies will likely lead us into a recession.  8 years of amenic growth while massive Fed stimulation is concerning.  The Fed is not raising rates now but will likely raise in December.  With corporate earnings in a 5 quarter recession this might get ugly.  Perhaps in 4 years the Republicans will walk into the white house with ease.

Back on topic:  Latest PPP poll in Texas is Trump (only) +6.  Wow.
This is from the PPP poll is kind of amazing and encouraging for our country's future:

Trump's lead is based entirely on his holding a 63-33 advantage among seniors. With voters under 65, Clinton leads him 49-45. And when you look just specifically at voters under 45, Clinton leads Trump 60-35.

Let's do the update from the last week in quiz form.  Can you spot the fake Trump quote?

1. “The only way they can beat it in my opinion, and I mean this 100 percent, if in certain sections of the state they cheat.”

2. "No, I meant [Obama's] the founder of ISIS I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton."

3. "If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.  Checkmate."

4. "We don't win any more. You people (pointing to the crowd) definitely don't win anymore."

5. "It is not 'freedom of the press' when newspapers and others are allowed to say and write whatever they want even if it is completely false!"
The comparisons to Zapp Brannigan are perfect.

"Like all of my plans,  this is so simple even an idiot could have devised it!"

Isn't there another Trump thread to bump that Eminence doesn't have the keys to?
Maaaaan, this thread is the bomb, and I don't care if Em names it *****OFFICIAL TRUMP NAMBLA HEADQUARTERS*****, I ain't going anywhere.

Haha, the idea of that thread title just made me laugh in the subway.

Seriously, all the best reading/links are in this thread.  Em can go play with his ball all alone somewhere else, I ain't here to talk to him, that would make me a trolll, which I am not.

It just seemed like an opportunity to pile on and make fun of a segment of society.
Well, yeah, there was definitely plenty of that. I find juvenile humor funny sometimes.

I'll still stand by my point that Trump, his candidacy, and his supporters are not worthy of seriously engaging in discussion though. There's nothing of substance there, at all, outside of the white nationalism -- and that's something that doesn't deserve a "place at the table" in terms of serious political discussion.

What policy blueprint do you feel Trump give the advantage over Hillary?

No. If you support Trump, then you are either a bigot yourself, or are OK with your candidate openly pandering to bigotry to further his political ends. Sorry if that offends you, but it's true, and it's how the vast majority of the country see it. If that "ruins my credibility" with out of touch blind right wing partisans, I'm OK with that.

1.  Blanket statements are sometihng everyone is guilty of, and if we ran around qualifying everything we said, no one would get anything done.  Unless you've never used the term 'liberals' before?

2.  Seriously, what do you think the chances are that Trump understands, or gives a flying fig, about your 2nd paragraph?

Corporate and individual tax reform, repeal Obamacare,  resist raising minimum wage, not raising social security income tax.  Not to mention National security

Wrong again, but you have proved that to be the case over and over.  Carry on

So, you don't think that getting rid of NAFTA and having a president that most other countries abhor and believe to be volatile wouldn't be more likely to cause a recession?

Yup and we're expected to respect this group and their ideology? :lmao:

70% of the electorate sees this movement for what it is, it's just KKK-lite.

I can only compare what Hillary and Trump have said publicly regarding their proposed tax plans, etc.  I agree more with Trump on those.  Him saying stupid things gets him in trouble.  Hillary committing perjury may get her in trouble.
