Call it what you want but...I'm fairly sure if either Presidential candidate asked the Generals that is what they would recommend. That is what they always recommend.
And any president who wants to later claim "I only did what the generals wanted" is a female genitalia not worth electing.

Our generals are rubble...Putin is great.

Those are literally things that just came out the Republican nominee.
Hey, Putin has an 82% approval rating in his country...and it will probably go higher now that he knows there are people who say they disapprove and has a chance to find them.

How would you take the oil?

We would leave a small group behind.

Are rea there really intelligent people anywhere who think this is remotely a good (or workable) idea??

Trump really turns my stomach. I have a rational objection to Hillary and her unethical past but this guy is an unpatriotic heal. He is everything that the far right accused Obama of. I know he's going to lose and I'm glad. I feel like this is some unwanted, slovenly houseguest that I have to wait 2 months to be rid of until he finds a job.

Taking the oil would also be a violation of the Geneva Convention. Per the rules that we set up at Nuremberg, any military officer (or enlisted for that matter) who follows Trump's order on this would be guilty of a war crime.

Trump has already indicated that he will disregard the Geneva Convention, with torture beyond waterboarding and targeting the families of terrorists for retaliation by death.

I like the whole "I would have turned the plane around and left" because China didn't roll out a red carpet for me shtick.  I mean the guy is a lunatic.

Frankly I'm not worried about her; I'm worried about the public.
Yeah undecided voters seem to judge on things like "he was too condescending", "he spoke forcefully", "she didn't smile enough". They don't care about facts or if the candidate actually answered the question.  Or maybe they don't notice.

And as you said in another post, Trump isn't confronted on his falsehoods.  I believe one of the moderators has already said it's not his job to fact check.  So it's really it's all about his ability to fake his way through it.  Fortunately poise isn't one of his strong suits.

There is precedent however, see Stalin and East Germany

I'd vote for either VP over both candidates.

I do find Trump entertaining though, he's just so insane I can't stop watching.

Small chance he is a robot.

If I threw a paper airplane out of my window, I'd vote for the person it hit over both of these candidates.
That would still be a better candidate and person than Pence. Assuming they did not hit Trump

Or Palin, Bachmannn, Manafort, Lewandowski. Bannon, Huckabee, Carson, Santorum, Perry, Cain, Rubio, Cruz, Any Bush etc

WTF is wrong with the Repubs? can't they just find one decent candidate and agree on that one person?

The Dems got their own kind of wrong. but please, the crazy is STRONG with the republican party

So many conservatives I talk to have this same attitude:

I won't vote for either of them!

Hillary's just as bad!

He's awful but Hillary's worse!

It's cognitive dissonance at it's worst. They're so committed to "their side" winning that they refuse to acknowledge what they know to be the truth: that the nomination of Donald Trump was a shameful, historical embarrassment, a stain that will be with the Republican party for years to come. It makes them feel better about themselves by proclaiming that Hillary Clinton is just as bad or worse, but deep down I think they know better.

And yet you refuse acknowledge that the nomination (abomination) of Hillary Clinton is a shameful historical embarrassment.  She sold out the state department for donations.  That's the definition of high crimes.  She ran a fraudulent charity.  She approved uranium deals and military technology deals with Putin Russia because they gave money to the phony charity.  She left Americas top secrets out in the open for any hacker to steal.  She persuaded a policy in Libya and Syria that has left 10s of thousands of dead bodies.  I'm just scratching the surface, but she recently threatened war with Russia over the DNC hacks.  I'm just scratching the surface.

The worst part about this nomination  is that much of this was known and the Democrats nominated her anyway.  Not only did they nominate her, they were complicit in the crimes, the coverups and the anti-democratic rigging of their own primary process.

This is truly one massive stinking pile of #### for a candidate and a political party.

Except that she didn't do any of those things. It's all conjecture; there's no evidence for most of your assertions.

You guys sound just like my FIL, whose idea of political discourse involves repeating whatever he heard on Glenn Beck that day.
