Official Donald Trump for President thread (6 Viewers)

Monday AM the RNC will allow down ballot candidates to start spending money on ads distancing themselves from this clown.  Then it's really over.

The problem with this argument (and with Trump's response) is that it is not just banter. If Trump grabbed women by the genitals, using his "star power" to get them to acquiesce, that's sexual assault. If he grabs women and starts kissing them without their consent, as he bragged about doing on the tape, that's sexual assault.
Mrs. Clinton said Trumps supporters were deplorables and Sanders supporter are a bucket of losers. Plus putting national security in jeopardy and the back door deals with Wall Street. Mrs.. Clinton does not care about the left or right...

It's hilarious to see people cling to a candidate or ideology after that candidate or ideology has been shown time and time again to be morally or intellectually bankrupt.  Yet we see it everyday, and we'll it with Trump supporters after these revelations.  It shows the amazing power of people to lie to themselves if they've already invested enough time in a failing candidate or ideology.  Some people simply can't say, "I was wrong.  I was fooled."
There are plenty who don't actually think that way and they're just in it for the trolling. Some quite obvious ones in this thread even.

What @timschochet wrote was every bit as horrifying, if not worse, than Trump.  But, saying he's sorry if he offended anyone by condoning rape of a minor and blaming the minor for being provocative and promiscuous doesn't excuse him one bit.  I understand some who are on the same team as Tim look for any reason to defend him when he barfs up disgusting, incoherent, insensitive garbage.  But, if I were in his corner, I'd steer way clear of this in any discussion about Trump and his wretched comments.
I don't want to keep bringing up what I wrote nearly 2 years ago now about Roman Polanski, but I can't let comments like this pass.

I wrote that Polanski's crime was having sex with a 12 year old who looked like she was 20, and while I considered that wrong, I didn't consider it to be on the level of someone forcing himself on a prepubescent child. But I was stupid to write that, because I had forgotten the fact that Polanski had given the girl drugs- that takes his crime beyond statutory rape and makes it real rape. That's a crime for which Polanski should have served several years in jail, if not the rest of his life. I've also reconsidered my original statement: even if it hadn't been misinformed, it was still pretty stupid, and not representative of my true thoughts on the matter. I was trying to draw a distinction between sex with a teenager and sex with a child. It was dumb. Both are wrong. I've apologized for it several times. I have 2 daughters.

But I've also explained myself about this several times, and yet certain people here continue to attack me as if I had written in favor of the rape of a minor, as Cobalt has posted here. That is wrong and I can only conclude, since I know that he and others have read my apologies and explanations, that its based on malice as well.

I thought Jimmy Carter fantasized  about this stuff??  If every person was recorded it would be ugly. Love to hear Mrs. Clinton after the Monica scandal.
Jimmy Carter: I've looked on women with lust.
Da Guru: OUTRAGEOUS! UNFIT FOR OFFICE!!!!!1111

Donald Trump: Grab them by the pu--y.
Da Guru: Meh. No worse than Jimmy Carter. I'm still voting for him.

This is why you're losing, Republicans.

Hannity: Nobody can defend these comments BUT WHAT ABOUT BILL???
What about Hillary?  I know 99.9% of the people in her position would have done exactly what she did, but, she still failed to stand up for women in the exact same situation that she is currently attacking Trump for right now.

Hillary is a hypocritical, lying, cheating, POS.  But we all knew that already.

'For better or for worse'...she fulfilled the terms of her marriage contract.  She could have done the right thing for women but she had her contract to fulfill.

How about we stop consuming this high fructose news syrup and actually demand real policy discussion?

It bothers me so much that things like this have a bigger impact on the election than actual policy debate.  This is obviously not a good thing for trump, but shame on all of us for consuming these sound bites instead of demanding real discussion of the issues.  If you're angry about government inaction on global warming and eagerly watching and reading news about trump's hand size and genital handling, you shoulder part of the blame.  Shame on all of us.

You will be alive to vote for maybe 15 presidential elections and there are a few short months of actual discussion that determine who will lead the world and we are still talking about whether this candidate sweats or that candidate inhaled or this candidate said something mysogenistic 11 years ago.  We get some lip service discussion of whether trump is going to build a wall or clinton is going to require women to make as much as men.

Imagine them talking about what they actually want to do with health care and whether they'd fix obamacare or how they'd replace it.  Or talking about the economy in 10 years when transportation is more automated and truck drivers are out of work?  Can we talk about the deficit as a multiple of gdp?  Of course not.  Trump has little hands and hilary has a weird shoulder wiggle thing.

If you want it to change you can't accept it when the other guy is the one getting skewered for some awful but ultimately inconsequential gaffe.  Please, guys on my side of the aisle, take the high road this time.  Don't feed the beast.
Yeah, this is all kinds of wrong.  If you don't know Hillary's policy positions at this late date then that's on you for not paying attention.  There were  the numerous debates with Sanders where both candidates had to answer real questions with substantive responses, her website is chock full of information on her policy positions and there are a number of pressers and question and answer sessions where policy was at least brought into the discussion.

Trump, otoh, insulted and bullied his way through the Republican primary and has never, not once, answered a serious question with anything more then MAGA!!, Build that Wall!, Lock Her Up!!  Even his spoiled brat inseminations get caught in the whirling vortex of obfuscation when pressed for details.  If you don't  know the difference in the candidates stance by now, learn how to read, listen and watch cuz you're obviously doing it wrong.
