https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnbNcQlzV-4Honestly, I think Trump is such a terrible candidate -- and terrible human being -- on so many different dimensions that it's hard for any one particular story to get a lot of individual play. If the media spent a lot of time on his rape allegations, they'd be short-changing his threat on live national television to throw his opponent in jail. Or his desire to execute minors who were exonerated of a crime. Or his penchant for #####-grabbing. Or whatever other atrocity you happen to fancy. I'm sure I've lost track of one or two.
Dead serious about this.
538 has the WI seat pretty firmly in Feingold's favor. Sitting at 86% chance to win. I've followed this one a bit since WI is my home state and except for one poll last week, every single one has gone Feingold's way.CletiusMaximus said:In Wisconsin, we have a contested senate race between incumbent Ron Johnson who rode a tea party wave into office in 2011, against a strong left candidate, former senator Russ Feingold, whom Johnson knocked out of office in 2011. Johnson is spinning in circles over Trump. His press people must have the hardest job in politics right now. Last spring he took the bizarre position that he "supported" Trump but did not "endorse" him. With Paul Ryan (Wisconsin congressman and speaker of the House) doing the double reverse pivot and now in open, direct conflict with Trump, Johnson has essentially shut down on the issue - I suppose just waiting to see where the wind blows him next. He is now calling Trump "indefensible", but saying he has "not withdrawn his support", while is still "not endorsing" Trump.![]()
Meanwhile, Feingold is building a small lead in the polls and it seems certainly possible the Democrats might win that seat back. Our other senator is an open lesbian and career politician from Madison, hard left. Our Governor is the Koch bros poster child, and we are also home to RNC chair Reince Preibus - both seem to be in "no comment" territory on Trump this week, paralyzed from fear and unable to take a position. Purple states are fun. Luckily for me, thanks to a panel of three conservative judges on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, I was able to vote last week and happily cast my ballot for the same guy I supported in 2012.

Hey, technically they're not minors anymore!Or his desire to execute minors who were exonerated of a crime.
That list may be a bit overstated. For example, I was surprised to see Rodrigo Duterte on there, but when I clicked on the link it turns out Trump wasn't insulting Duterte at all, he was insulting Obama for failing to gain Duterte's respect.New York Times is tracking the people, places, and things that Born Again Trump has insulted.
Bug fan of the way Man of God Trump used rape accusers for his own political gain.
I believe Trump is on record stating flat out that "12 is too young"

It's kind of like a Fogo de Chao of potentially disqualifying stories. You have to impose some type of strategy on yourself because you don't want to fill the public upon on the chicken thighs/slander of a federal judge when you just know some gaucho will be around soon to serve you the sirloin/leering at naked 15 year olds.TobiasFunke said:In describing this phenomenon we've been going with Denial of Service Attack and my preferred analogy, Three Stooges Syndrome
Kinda troubling that it took his campaign co-chair to adequately convey that to the American people. Guess the candidate is unable to articulate a proper explanation. I guess it's hard to say what effect if any the Trump candidacy has on this race, but I expected Johnson would be in the driver's seat. There are a two court of appeals openings right now, one that's been lingering for some time due to Johnson and Baldwin not being on speaking terms. It could swing the 7th circuit from right to left.538 has the WI seat pretty firmly in Feingold's favor. Sitting at 86% chance to win. In his mind, ee needs advisories he can defeat. Just look in the past 2 weeks. It goes from the Miss Universe lady to Bill Clinton to Paul Ryan with CNN and the debate thrown in. If he isn't actively defeating something/someone in his mind he's not alpha. Here is what I will never understand about Trump. I think we can all pretty much agree that his chief appeal seems to be that he sells himself as an alpha. A master of the universe in business, entertainment, and between the sheets. But have you ever heard any candidate for office whine so much? The Iowas Caucuses were rigged. The press is unfair to him. Hillary is saying mean things about him in ads (sorry, Crooked Hillary is saying mean things about him in ads). Republicans are being disloyal (you'd think his 5 years as a Republican would earn him some loyalty, you know).
If you're the type to talk about the wussification of America, well first I'm sorry for you, but wouldn't Trump be your Exhibit A?
or a black President.timschochet said:One of the strangest aspects about this election is the fact that at the same time that Trump supporters (and Republicans in general) believe that times are terrible, Obama has a 55% approval rating.
This simply makes no sense. If I were a historian trying to predict the rise of a populist, demagogue candidate like Trump (or the Tea Party that preceded it) I would have also predicted a severe economic downturn and a current President with approval ratings in the low 30s or below. We have neither of those factors yet we still have Trump.
Yeah but it fits right in with the "War On Christmas™" / "End Welfare Except For My Disability Checks" crowd. Here is what I will never understand about Trump. Good new GOP Senate polls:
NC: Burr +5 over Ross (10/1-6)
PA: Toomey +5 over McGinty (10/4-9)
WI: Johnson +5 over Feingold (10/4-5)

Trump endorsed one candidate this past year, Ellmers in NC, an incumbent she lost her seat in the primary to another Republican. If Ryan wants to be President someday he must take a hard stance against Trump.

I agree with you until this point. Because it is the very approach the GOP, Fox, the base have taken for over a decade now that led to the villification of Hillary.Trump is a disgusting human being. He has done absolutely nothing in his entire life that should qualify him to be President of the United States. He has continually said outrageous things and the latest comments about groping women are dispicable. He is a compulsive liar and a likely narcissist. Trying to bully people, making outrageous claims and snide comments aren't qualifications for the Presidency. I'm seriously pissed at everyone who voted for this lunatic in the primary. He has handed a completely despicable person, Hillary, the Presidency. We are all losers now.
On first blush you'd say, a fool and his money, yada yada yada. But I don't think they want their money back because of what Trump said in the tape. I think they knew exactly what they were buying in terms of his character. I think they want their money back because they're now certain he's going to lose and they are not going to get the return on their investment they expected when Trump got into office. So their stupidity isn't at the surface level (buying into the crap Trump's been selling), it's on a secondary level in thinking that he was adept enough to keep the worst evidence of his ### holery from surfacing such that enough of the U.S. would buy into the crap he was selling to get him into office.Sammy3469 said:What are the chances these donors/bundlers actually get their money back?

Both of these are correct. It's never enough with the hyperbole on Hillary. She's not just bad, she's the worst. She's disgusting, vile, evil. Should be put in jail. These are examples of unrealistic emotionally based rhetoric coming from the outlets named above. I don't like her, she's above people in her opinion, and she is disingenuous. But when the attacks start getting unrealistic, I'm out on that nonsense.I agree with you until this point. Because it is the very approach the GOP, Fox, the base have taken for over a decade now that led to the villification of Hillary.
She is a faulted person. Emminently qualified for the position, but has the baggage of actually doing things, making decisions, casting votes, over the last two decades.
That said, if you call her a "despicable person" (which she is not, and I don't like her, mind you, and hold a bigger grudge for her carpet bagging into my state) then OWN THE RESULT. You are part of the problem that led to Trump winning that handed the presidency to Hillary as you state.
If you raise the devil, can't keep the devil down. You all raised it, here's the result. Can't have it both ways.
Sounds like somebody's unwavering support is starting to wobble a lotA vote for Trump is a vote for Pence because Trump will hand over power after he claims that he has fixed everything...which will probably take him about 30 minutes...in his own mind.
I live in a solidly D district in a D state (NY 26), so my vote doesn't really matter, but I generally vote all over the board....Dem, GOP, Libertarian, Conservative, Green, etc., depending on the individual race. For the first time I'm actually considering not voting for any GOP candidates on principle just based on how this presidential campaign has played out.
I have no idea what's going to happen.
- Gop's could stay home.
- Gop's could vote indy/3rd party.
- Gop's could vote Hillary and feel they need to balance the Congress with opposite votes.
GOP could lose one house, lose both, or keep both. No idea.
Trump...hand over power? Yeah......that sounds like the Trump we all know and love.A vote for Trump is a vote for Pence because Trump will hand over power after he claims that he has fixed everything...which will probably take him about 30 minutes...in his own mind.
Sounds a lot like the religious nuts who are justifying a Trump vote by praying for his timely death.Sounds like somebody's unwavering support is starting to wobble a lot

Amazing slogan material right there. He's obviously going to lose, but if he won, chances are very slim he'd make it 4 years.
Pence would be terrific.Amazing slogan material right there.

Separately, BuzzFeed News reported Wednesday that four women in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant said Trump walked into their dressing room while they were changing. Some were as young as 15, BuzzFeed reported.
Three spoke anonymously, and one allowed her name to be used. “I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,'” Mariah Billado, a former Miss Vermont Teen USA, told BuzzFeed.
Trump, she told BuzzFeed News, said “something like ‘Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.'”
Don't forget the part where he is going to "open up libel laws" so people can't go around saying mean things like he's not as rich as he claims to be, even though libel laws are state laws. Here is what I will never understand about Trump. It has gotten this bad because sites like Breitbart, RedFlag News, and Infowars are the sole news sources for many people. FOX News is right-biased, but they generally fact check and at least have differing viewpoints. They might rip into differing viewpoints, but at least they are presented. That's not acceptable to some. These other sites take the slant to the extreme. They post only right-wing propaganda, often create - or at least embellish - stories, and never offer even a centrist thought - much less a liberal or progressive idea. Someone using these sites exclusively for their news has no chance at being anything other than misinformed. They show up to Trump rallies, see other like-minded people, and that only reinforces their mindset.I agree with you until this point. Because it is the very approach the GOP, Fox, the base have taken for over a decade now that led to the villification of Hillary.
