No safe space needed. But I've called this out even before the election ... I've noticed that this is used when posters have no response, or are unable to articulate a response.

I get a ton of stuff wrong, and I admit it all the time. 

But- and I write this with all humility- in my 9 years and over 100,000 posts in this forum, I've never displayed such a lack of knowledge as Knowledge Dropper does on a very consistent basis. What's shocking about my previous post on him is that it wasn't ironic at all.

Your posts reek of someone cloistered in some sheltered liberal academia world with zero experience in the real world and no idea how anything actually works.  You obviously have incredible amounts of free time to make over 100k posts to mostly shove your agenda down people's throats.

I seriously doubt it, other than the projection you mention.  It's harder to find a movie that doesn't have a message opposing authoritarianism, discrimination, oligarchy and/or kleptocracy.

By the way it's pretty funny- and totally predictable- that all those Trump supporters who rallied behind their candidate's call to end political correctness are apparently the whiniest crybabies we've ever seen.  We should make a list of all the stuff that's offended their delicate sensibilities just in the month since the election: Star Wars, Hamilton, Kellogg cereals, Pepsi ... it's amazing.  Trumpkins make 19 year old college kids talking about safe spaces look like Navy Seals.

I've noticed that certain conservatives, the ones who aren't too bright, always fall back on a couple of consistent points whenever they're pressed for argument:

1. Anybody who disagrees with them is obviously  liberal, and this word is used as a slur with no further explanation needed.

2. Liberals have no idea of how the world "actually works". This argument allows for anti-intellectualism and is usually an excuse for ignorance.

What seems to be happening is that he will delegate more day to day to Pence than previous Presidents, maybe moreso than any President. He will be involved with hiring and firing decisions, that's obviously in his wheelhouse. He seems to be paying close attention to what individual companies are doing, which is different and seems like it will continue. He has what he stands for, that he tweets out, but he moves on quickly and I don't see any one true passion from him yet. He was about winning & beating Hillary Clinton, and he did that. It's hard to see him engaging enough to drive home any one issue anyway, he's obviously delegating to friends and cronies, people that he trusts or that donated a lot of money to him. Maybe he builds some kind of a wall. He probably doesn't care that much.

Winning everywhere. The whole civilized world is getting on board with Trump. Markets across the planet are steamrolling ahead. He's bringing everyone with us. He's showing the world how to run a govt. efficiently.

On the bolded- why isn't anyone talking about the McMahon appointment?

In the Hillary thread, a number of posters spent days throwing hissy fits about some random Clinton Foundation donor getting an appointment to be one of 25 people on some advisory board none of us had ever heard of before he appointment became a story.  Here we have the largest donor to the Trump Foundation, making much larger donations to a much smaller foundation, one for which there's an actual admission of self-dealing, and the donor has been given a Cabinet-level position. 

Maybe I'm missing something here, but from where I'm sitting if that International Security Advisory Board appointment was remotely scandalous, this should be ####ing Watergate x 1000.  Instead, we get crickets.  Not just from all those ethics-minded posters in the Clinton thread. Even that "left-wing mainstream media" has been silent on it.  Anyone got an explanation for this discrepancy, other than the obvious ones (blatant double standard fueled either by sexism or the media's desire to create a horse race)?

I have an MBA, CPA and I am a powerful fiscal position that oversees billions.  I like to bust b@lls on condescending progressives that think they have a monopoly on intelligence and anyone that disagrees is a caveman.    Fortunately, I am getting a subscription to New Republic for Christmas.  Hopefully we can speak intelligently in 2017.

Your most recent post in this thread before this was a link to a Howie Carr column piece, which you generously called an "article."  Among many other sins (including publishing regularly scheduled troll jobs and just generally being a racist POS) Carr's newspaper once had to pay a $2 million libel claim to a judge after Carr falsely accused him of disparaging a rape victim.

I did not whine...I pointed out that Rolling Stone is not the publication to be quoting as a legit source...before we move are you disagreeing with that?

As for Howie I will continue to post his articles because I find them entertaining...if you want to disregard them (and I know you will because he does follow your ideology) because of that you have every right...but if you think what he did is anywhere close to what Rolling Stone did than you and I will have to agree to disagree...

And I suspect Beavers and other will continue to post the articles that they find entertaining.  If you want to disregard them you have every right, but if you want to complain about them I will continue to point out the hypocrisy of your position.  And if you think your back to back posts weren't hilariously hypocritical, you and I (and you and the dictionary) will have to agree to disagree.

Love the touch of arrogance...it's your strong suit...and you know what you do have a point about ignoring rather than pointing out...probably a better path to travel as pointing out what Rolling Stone is is probably a moot point right now (and yes, there are plenty of right-wing sites that are exactly the same)...

Yeah I generally just ignore the columns and stuff posted here from both sides.  Sometimes there's great insight or a persuasive argument, but most of it is just red meat to true believers and/or intended to troll the other side.  And there's already plenty of that in the actual news these days.

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign sent Donald Trump’s businesses $2.9 million in the final days prior to and the weeks following his election.

Trump’s Miami golf club, where he staged an Oct. 25 news conference to showcase his employees who like him, received $13,015. Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas received $176,933 for lodgings from his presidential campaign and $60,442 more from a joint fundraising committee for Trump and the Republican National Committee.

Trump Tower in Manhattan, meanwhile, received a whopping $462,011 in rent, including $283,500 on Nov. 28 – nearly $114,000 more than the campaign had been paying for its headquarters space for the previous several months.

The president-elect’s transition team did not respond to a Huffington Post query regarding the higher rent payment.

The figures are contained in new filings Thursday night by the campaign and related committees with the Federal Election Commission. The filings cover the six weeks from Oct. 20 to Nov. 28

The burst of spending brings to more than $12 million the total Trump has funneled back to his businesses since the start of the campaign. It continues his pattern of choosing to spend donors’ money at his own properties for events and on his own airplane for travel, even though it meant spending considerably more than comparable alternatives.

Trump paid his West Palm Beach, Florida, golf resort $29,715 in May following a “victory” party he held there March 5. He sent $35,845 to his club in nearby Jupiter after a March 8 party. In both cases, the attendees were mainly dues-paying members of the clubs rather than campaign staff or volunteers. And in both cases he could have held his party at the West Palm Beach Marriott for less than half of what he spent.

Also in May, Trump paid his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach $423,372 in campaign funds even though he had held only two victory parties and a news conference there two months earlier.

Trump similarly chose to rent office space at New York’s Trump Tower at about $100 per square foot ― about three times the rate the Clinton campaign had been paying for its headquarters in Brooklyn. Trump’s rent ― $169,758 a month ― jumped nearly five times higher once he secured the nomination and was spending donor money rather than his own.

I'm honestly kind of excited for four years of laughing at how badly Trump supporters got scammed and will continue to get scammed.  Normally I would never laugh at such a thing, I hate scams and especially those that prey on the poor and middle class and old people, as the Trump campaign did.  But there were millions of people screaming "YOU'RE GETTING SCAMMED" at the top of their lungs and you didn't seem to care, so #### it.  Maybe shoot him an email about that donation you made and see if he'll invite you to one of the golf clubs it got funneled to as a thank you.

Perhaps a bit mean-spirited, but true. Not saying Donald's necessarily a bad guy preying on these people, they sort of asked for it, look at all the knob-slobbing that goes on in this thread. They didn't want to know, maybe they hated Hillary more, probably Barack a bit too. I see it as a F U to Hillary, a bit to Obama, and then not seeing that Trump is a con-man, as many don't want to believe they were duped. Many of us were pointing out stuff about the Don. Again, not the racist click bait stuff: it's the money, people. Trump's going to go after more of it, it's who he is. Keep believing he's some genius billionaire though, this is how he makes his money.
