Johnny Lunchbox and Mary Homemaker don't care or understand Taiwan, China, Russia.  They care about jobs.  Not necessarily their jobs, just jobs.  Oh and the wall, build the wall.

Also chanting lock her up, but they don't really mean to lock her up.

Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?

What military action do you think Russia will take in retaliation for the hacking allegations that is as likely as China invading Taiwan?
It probably depends on what we do for retaliation.  My guess is that we will do more than just make a phone call to somebody.

I agree with people who think that Trump's decision is unwise, but jonessed is clearly correct that if China is going to grossly overreact by starting a war over it, that's just irrational on their part.

They're too busy being butthurt libtards, watching fake news.

I was told throughout the election that Trump's campaign was based on fear and played to his base's belief that the world is a strange and terrifying place.  I guess he was right -- I'm now learning that we can reasonably expect that each small diplomatic stumble stands a good chance of sparking WWIII.

so, mark burnett is involved in the inauguration process........

can we all predict what will happen the 20th?  I heard a reality show that shows Trump being picked up from NYC TT and whisked away via helicopter to the inauguration, all televised.

is he gonna be roped down below?  will there be multiple guys dressed as trump and we need to predict who is the real one?  parachute?  a contect to determine which one is melania and which one is caitlyn jenner?  bible set on fire?

johnny lunchbox and mary homemaker are gonna love this show!

Some sort of economic sanctions seems like the worst-case result. What military response do you think this will prompt from Russia?

One diplomatic misstep is not going to start a war. A series of them that China interprets as a shift in US policy toward Taiwanese independence might. It doesn't really matter if you or I believe that to be irrational.

Taiwan can be the next Saigon. Not worth it.

That goes for all the places around the world we supposedly would go to war to defend.

A shift in US war policy is definitely needed.

I don't know if Catholics are trustworthy but it is an interesting read.
Regarding the story disputed by Trump supporters that he really wasn't mocking a disabled reporter because he mocks lots of people by acting like he is disabled even if they aren't (OR DON'T HAVE THAT IDENTICAL DISABILITY), by that rationale, if Trump dropped to the ground, went into convulsions and started foaming at the mouth, it would be OK if the reporter or other subject of being mocked didn't have epilepsy. Nonsense. It would be offensive to anybody with epilepsy whether the reporter had that disability or not. Of course it would be worse if the reporter did have epilepsy, but either way it indicates profound tone deafness to the disabled.

* This isn't a detonator. We don't need a schematic. Given his history of insulting any and everybody up to an including the POPE, it is unclear why of all things a CATHOLIC publication should feel the need to defend the indefensible?

Probably none.  I'm also not the one saying that China is going to start a war over a phone call.  Neither China nor Russia got where they are today by being irrational.

I'm off the ledge but China and Russia actually have a lot of irrationality in their history. Two totally different subjects and histories but still it's there.

However, it should be noted that the excerpt to which Trump pointed (originally published by the Washington Post on 18 September 2001) described individuals who "allegedly" celebrated the attacks on rooftops in Jersey City (indicating that the celebrations were rumored, not confirmed). Trump claimed to have seen "thousands and thousands" of individuals in New Jersey on television, footage that has long been cited in rumors but doesn't appear to exist and doesn't jibe with the material he cited. Finally, it's unlikely thousands of any group of people could physically congregate on a rooftop.

Podcast: How Experts Traced the DNC Hack to Russian Spies

Bloomberg reporter Jordan Robertson recently sat down with Fidelis Cybersecurity Senior VP Mike Buratowski to discuss the malware and other data that attackers used to pull off the breach of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) servers. By examining the clues the attackers left behind, Mike explains how it's possible to attribute the attacks to a specific group of nation-state actors.

Not sure why he want to fight a war with Chyna - according to my facebook relatives and kooky friends he needs to fight the War on Christmas first.
Obummer's cards have all said Happy Holidays!!!!

I mean...its as if he is trying to be inclusive of all citizens of this country and not divisive or something.

We sold weapons to them a year ago.  It's not antagonistic to arm them against a Chinese incursion, but a phone call is going to start WWIII?  It's the same saber rattling BS they always do.
The US has been selling arms to Taiwan since China and the US established diplomatic relations. So it was "just" last year.

Guy isn't even in office yet and already his defenders have been reduced to "yeah, well, uh, Clinton also lied once too."

Clinton also had an office that responded to press inquiries asking for explanations of her statements and actions. She also copped to it when caught saying something that wasn't true, as was the case with the Bosnian sniper fire bit.  And she even had a couple press conferences over the last few months of the campaign.  How does Trump compare on those things?

China being rational or irrational isn't the issue.  Two sides can be totally rational from their own point of view and still have problems.  America seems to think that somehow wars are only started by irrational people out for themselves (and that may be the case looking back at history with a 2016 lends on it), but most conflicts are started by two sides that think they were acting rationally with respect to best interests.

A simple rhetorical response. It gets old doesn't it?

Hey, I agree.  That's why I wasn't overly worried about the phone call thing.  Predictably, that's going to beget a response like "Say mean things about Donald Trump in the state media," not "Start WWIII."

Who knew Christmas was divisive.
You think the President is only President of Christians?  Or maybe...just maybe some don't celebrate it...but are actually of other faiths and celebrate other things.

So an all encompassing Happy Holidays actually reaches out to more of the people he leads?

Yet...a few still get all bent out of shape over something so simple like that.

Larry Kudlow in the White House is sort of scary.  Worst of both worlds.  A Wall Street Elite who has no clue what he's doing probably because he destroyed all his brain cells doing coke.  Deficits are for chumps who can't dynamic score the system.

And how does Donald Trump generally respond to people saying mean things about him?

As the number of successful African Americans jumping on the Trump train rises it will be interesting to see how the libs and fake news respond.

Will they be open to the possibility that they were wrong (about Trump being a racist) or will they double down on their intolerance and throw these minorities under the bus?
Trump blatantly, ham-handedly included in a Cinco De Mayo tweet/advertisement about the Trump Grill making the best taco bowls that "I love Hispanics!" If he sends a tweet during MLK day that the Trump Grill serves the best chicken/waffles and watermelon and "I love African Americans!" would that be racist?

Krudlow is one serious idiot. Fun to watch because he's such a total moron. He could be a $ maker because if you pay attention and they implement what he wants, look out below.
