Picking from the 3 spot next week. Probably will take whoever is there of McCutchen or Stanton, but part of me is looking at Abreu. Nuts?

From some mocks I have done, and knowing my league mates, I have come up with this possibility for my first 7 picks. H2H, roto, standard 5x5 categories, standard yahoo rosters.

1.03 - OF Stanton/McCutchen

2.10 - SS Hanley/Tulo/Desmond

3.03 - OF Harper

4.10 - 3B Arenado

5.03 - SP Lester/Cueto/Zimmer

6.10 - 1B Votto/Ortiz/VMart

7.03 - 2B Betts/Gordon

Round 8 and 9 still seem to have SP that I like (Shields, Cole, Arrieta, Ross, etc), so would most likely grab 2 of them.

Any great sites to check out as to rankings or just info in general for the upcoming season?

My first six picks or so are bats. My next one is probably a closer, but it depends on the league. Then I'm probably coming back with two starters. After that you've gotta be flexible, but I'm not waiting too long before getting my second closer.

Ss and 2b are usually a headache, but this year seems worse than usual. If I can't get Tulo or Kipnis (or Dozier if obp) then I'm probably waiting a long while and focusing on other positions. Value usually isn't there.

Not knowing your roster setup, don't over think the third pick, just take your favorite of the studs.

Not as big of a fan as they've brought other people on, like their prospect guy though, but anything by Rudy or Grey on Razzball is worth your time. Love their daily wrap up each morning during the season too. Since you're behind the eight ball their war room tool may be the most efficient route since time is an issue. I haven't used it since they changed formats though,Whoever does the projected lineups is a good resource too. Roto champ I think. Don't want a team full of #8 hitters.

If you plan to start playing more year to year mix fangraphs into your rotation. Many swear by their tools, but I'm happy with just their articles and their player profile pages. Once you learn what all of the different stats mean it can be very useful.

Have the 1.3 pick in a 12 team, 3 player keeper league. It is H2H points. Planning to take a SP at 1.3. Expect the best to be a tier of Cueto/Lester/Greinke/Zimmerman. Cueto is likely gone in the first two picks based on some info so which of Lester/Greinke/Zimmerman do you take? I am leaning towards Lester because it is a 3pt per IP league so inning eaters can rake up big points. I think Lester probably has the lowest upside but also lowest floor just based on potential injury concerns with Greinke or Zimmerman. I already have Price so don't need the huge ace just another good top 15 pitcher.

Had the auction last weekend and was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind giving their opinion. I think the team looks a lot better on paper like 3 years ago with some guys that didn't quite reach potential so that could be worrisome. It's an auction keeper so some decisions were made with that in mind. Unfortunately due to perhaps poor planning my last eightish players were all a buck because that's all I could spend and I had no money left to get any closers really. Anyone interested Fire away and feel free to be brutally honest.
