When it comes to RBs, there's "lead dogs" and there are guys who teams plan their roster construction around.  I think Jones is the former right now at best.  They also like Williams, they could add someone in FA, they could draft another guy to compete...nothing about what Jones did last year makes me feel confident in him getting 200+ touches for multiple years with GB.

That said, I like his tape.  Think he has a lot of upside for three down capabilities.  He's real close to Kenyan Drake for me- a guy who I think could put up easy top 10 numbers if they got the touches.  Which is why I'd prefer his side of that deal because Landry is high floor/low ceiling.

For me a "decent chance" would be 30% or more that he never fully takes over.  And with Jones I put that percentage higher and not in the good way.  I'm still willing to gamble on him, but I can see why someone would want to make this deal.

If he doesn't get a larger percentage of RB touches this year than he did last year, he probably DECREASES the following year, which makes him nothing but a dart throw beyond that.  With Landry at least you know you're getting 2-3 more years of 80/900/4-6.

Is Jones a lock?  No but at least he proved to be dynamic and began to earn trust.  Landry being a security blanket for a QB who has balls the size of basketballs doesn't exactly strike confidence either.

I'd prefer swinging bigger with Jones, but if I had a deep backfield and needed a WR, I'd take Landry.  There's at least a decent chance that Jones never grabs control of that backfield.  Landry is boring as hell but he should be a steady contribute on a rising offense for several years still.

I take Jones at least 2 rounds ahead of Landry.  There is no good reasons to be trading for Landry.  There are multiple good reasons to be trading for Aaron Jones.  One is 2 years into his career and seemed to breakout a little last year (although didn't fully earn trust admittedly), the other is the definition of an inefficient volume based receiver who does little else other than catch the ball.  Security blanket maybe, but give me a guy that's dynamite with the ball in their hands rather than a guy I know won't do anything else with it once they catch it.  ADP's be damned, you won't find me EVER taking Landry that high.

I pretty much agree with everything here.

Plus Landry's usage fell off massively after Kitchens took over. His efficiency improved but he needs volume and that dropped off a cliff.

 
I just don’t trust Fournette and i think OJ Howard has as much upside as Ertz. And Hill is clearly the best player in the deal

For my money, the players rank 

Hill, Ertz, Fournette, OJ Howard, Boyd, Jordan Howard. 

One side gets 1, 4, 6th best pieces and the other gets 2, 3, 5th. Seems fair enough.

Flip Fournette with Ertz and that's how I see it and that would change nothing in the slotting process you outlined. I'd prefer the Hill side myself, but felt the trade was fairly even.

gave Danielle Hunter DE/Min

got 2020 1st (no worse than 1.06) & 2019 4.03

I don't know how much interest there is for IDP trades.

We have pretty aggressive DE scoring.  Hunter finished 12th overall for defenders (only behind Donald at the position).  But we also include 3-4 OLBs as DE eligible (it's basically EDGE), so there's plenty of depth at the position.

Hunter was a keystone of my roster, but I couldn't pass up a front-end 2020 1st.

That's probably what he's worth but high scoring DEs like Hunter are almost as much of a unicorn as TEs. Making the OLBs count as DEs helps though. Ultimately  I guess I'd take the 1st.

There's a dedicated thread in the IDP forum for them, we need all the traffic in that forum we can get.  FBG has abandoned us there and many keystone members have melted away in response.

That's a big return for Hunter but he's got difference making potential.  I would have paid it for JJ Watt in his heyday, especially with your scoring, but I don't think I would for Hunter.  2020 has too much chance to be special, and lumping all your EDGE into the pool seems like the replacement value delta would be relatively small.

I paid a 1st (1.12 I think) for Hunter earlier in the offseason,  Championship roster with a hole at DE, I feel like it’s fair value.

I like Howard a little more myself but even you might come around if you saw roster makeup of team that traded Cooks. Cooks could not crack his lineup. Cooks and Robert Woods was his WR6 and WR7, meanwhile his best TE  in a TE premium league was Jimmy Graham. 

You can make a case he could have tried to trade for a better TE but in this league that would have been tough. This team two main competitors, one of which is me, own the Big 3 TE's and he'd have had to bowl us over to get one of us to deal him Kelce, Ertz or Kittle. Another team in this league, another very good team, only rosters players from the SEC so he's limited on moves he can make and pretty much has no interest in dealing Hunter Henry or Engram.

I am worried about Arians, but even if Howard is a little worse then Cooks next year or so I think he made a trade that made his team better.

I think the gap will be more than a "little" for the year end FF numbers between the two, but if his current TE isnt cracking 5 pts a game avg, its probably a break even move if cooks isnt starting ever for him

It's odd and interesting for sure. This is just a $500 league but I know he is in a $1,250 and no matter the entry fee he remains 100% true to SEC only.

What is really interesting to him is despite what seems like a massive handicap his team is solid, has won the league before, and I've actually concluded it might have helped him as weird as that sounds. He has to overpay sometimes in rookie drafts to move up is his main obstacle due to more of a limited player pool.  Off the top of my head I think his lineup would look something like Stafford, D Henry, Kerryon, Odell, Evans, Amari, Hunter Henry and Evan Engram. Not bad for a gimmick.

We had a conversation in this league a few years ago and we tried to look at what kind of team(s) you could build if isolated yourself to another conference then SEC. I recall the Big 12 was pretty impressive, was a lot better before A&M went to SEC.  Got me thinking a good idea for a novelty league would be if every team in the league had certain conference affiliations.

Team B gave: Allen Robinson, Njoku, Mike Williams and 1.5.

 
Not sure why, weekend was fairly quiet but getting a lot of trade offers and seeing several trades go down today in FFPC leagues today. Some minor trades I'm not posting but here is one that just went down and again I'm not involved.

Team A gave: 2020#1 (borderline playoff team) and Mike Gieskick

Team B gave: AJ Green

I like Foster's upside and might not have traded for this is most leagues but in this particular league he was my WR6 and we have to cut to 18 before the draft and then rosters increase to 22.

I have Hopkins in a rebuild and this is the kind of payout I would love to get for him.

But you probably don't lump OLB with DE's as an EDGE position.  Hunter has more value in most formats than in the OP for this trade.  Hunter is a stud and should just be hitting his prime but a high first is good value....especially with the position being EDGE guys.
