Agree....I own Mahomes and love his upside. However the Dallas pass game success is predicated on the run game. When they lost Elliot it changed everything. The pass catching group is not threatening at all. They have nobody who threatens the big play. Witten is a legend but is past scaring anyone, Dez is great in the end zone but defenses have proven they can shut him down, Beasley is a nice slot guy, and who....is Terrence Williams he other outside guy?....oof

 Elliot returns and Dallas adds some talent Dak can be a top 5-7 guy. Mahomes has everything your Madden video game likes but it remains to be seen if he can produce consistently on the field. Hope he does...but Dak should be the easy choice between the two at this point  IMO.

Depends on scoring rules, but Dak was QB13 in PPG his rookie year in my dynasty leagues and a few spots below what you quoted prior to Zeke's suspension this year. His fantasy value was significantly propped up by his rushing, his 12 rushing TDs by a QB the last 2 years leads the league. While I doubt I would trade him straight up for Mahomes, I'm also not an interested buyer until he shows improvement as a passer. He regressed mightily the 2nd half of the season even with Zeke back in the lineup the last two games so curious to see which Dak shows up next year.

The Russell Wilson comparison is an intriguing one though, very similar efficiency stats as well as situations where Wilson had Lynch in his prime to take the pressure off, and an underachieving Dez probably compares well to an underachieving Harvin at that time.

My team is hurting big time at WR, fairly deep at TE and likely deep at RB when draft is over as I've still maintain picks 2,3 and 7. I'd wanted to be able to move the least valuable of my top 4 picks and/or a TE to updgrade WR and Hill is one of my big WR dynasty targets this off-season so this all fits all my goals. I did not intend to keep Cole or Ty Montgomery, so whatever I lost with them I lost in whatever I could get in a cut down motivated trade, but I'd not expect much and have already been turned down several times for late second requests on Cole.

I have seen a lot of deals look bad and turn out great but I just don't get what the other guy is thinking here...in a very best-case scenario the upside is nothing special...

Great post. Dak has shown to be a prolific FF scorer much earlier in his career than just about anybody.

He’ll have Zeke for a long time & WR is now a priority for the Cowboys. TE Rico Gathers could make a huge difference for Dak, as well. Look the F out when he gets a legit receiving corps.

Dak is now one of the best bargains in all of FF.

I love me some Njoku and FFPC would inflate his value a lot if he takes a spike in production in the near future.  Plus the uncertainty in KC with Mahomes seeming like he's taking over could mean it's a nice time to sell guy like Hill who some view to be gimmicky.  I suspect I'm in the minority here but I'll take Njoku, Cole and 2.02 and cut Ty Monty.  Assuming I have roster spots for guys like that.  Then I'd look for some type of packaging deal for Cole/2.02 and maybe another piece for a mid/late 1st.

Well it's FFPC which is TE Premium so it inflates Njoku's value a bit while also supressing Hill's since you only have to start 2 WRs in that format.

On the flipside, it's also small rosters so fringe guys like Cole/Montgomery have a little less value.

I would take Hill but if Njoku hits his value will be immense in that format.

Just to be a devil's advocate here, I'll point out that PPR isn't Hill's strong suit and FFPC gives 1.5 ppr to TEs. Maybe the guy is a huge Njoku fan? He is only 21 and was a 1st round rookie pick (talking fantasy, but also he went #29 in the NFL draft). The guy trading gets to forgo the rookie year incubation period for TEs. Montgomery and Cole look like dart throws to me, but I know some people like them. 2.02 is somewhat of a dart throw, too, but does have some value. I've seen worse looking trades turn out to be winners in just a year or two. But again, I'm just playing devil's advocate here. At first blush, this looks like a win for the OP.

ETA: how much of a dip does Hill's value take if KC signs or drafts a WR? (assuming a big name WR, not depth)

Did not notice the TE scoring...with that Njoku is more attractive although if the Browns do not get their QB situation squared away it will limit his upside...that being said I still do not like it...Hill is 23 and if Mahomes is in-fact the real deal there is no reason to think he will not have sustained success...I would rather keep Hill and target someone like Andrews in the rookie draft...

I'm in this league and actually like the deal for both teams. Ignoring teams and just looking at value I'd take Hill but in this case Meno had great TE depth and needed help at wr and the other squad has a bunch of holes and needs depth, especially a hole at TE. I see it as a win/win because I don't think the value is off that far and I do like Njoku's potential

Don’t get what the Julio owner is thinking. He was frustrating this year but this is almost giving him away imo.

I was not involved in the deal but he's been a very competitive owner (perennial contender) for 10 years who wanted to rebuild his team and is very high on the two guys he got back. In his defense I think he knows he overpaid a bit but is still happy with the deal. I think he will be ok.

I’m sure he wanted to rebuild and they are tough guys to trade right now. But if Davis is a bust he just killed that team.

Have to disagree with most of these comments. I still like Julio more than most, but as an owner of Watson/Davis on a rebuilding team, no way I trade them for that package. Ryan fell hard and was a QB2 this year, Olsen has no value to a rebuilder and there's not much interest in Tarik either after his hot start faded away. Watson led all QB's in PPG through the first 8 weeks and only played 1 half of the 1st game and had an extremely conservative gameplan in the 2nd. I still like Davis better than any WR in this year's class as well.

Julio's the only piece he traded that has much value at all IMO and it is in decline, that's good exit value if you still believe in Davis.

I'd say Julio and Cohen (I think he'll bounce back with a new staff) both have value but agree with the premise that Julio was the only real major trade chip in the deal. Olsen is old for a TE and could fade fast, Other than 2017 Ryan has been at best an average fantasy starter and last season was well below average.

Personally I am not as high on Davis (but most are and I could obviously be wrong) but if some one is this deal is fine.

I did not draft Njoku but he went 8th in the rookie draft in this league to illustrate how they are valued and you hit the nail on the head with regards to forgoing what is normally a rookie TE learning period and Njoku won't even turn 22 for half a year. He did not have big stats,  I did not like way Hue failed to utilize him and seemed to focus to much on what he does not do well instead of what he does do well. But he flashed immense potential and I do have a fairly strong level of confidence that in the next year or two he'll take his place as a longtime perennial top 10 WR with as much upside as any TE in the NFL.  So to me he's pretty valuable big time piece but as it relates to my team which Aunt Jemima touched on in an earlier reply iscurrently holding Ebron, Henry, Everett and Gathers so I'm up to neck in TE's that I'm waiting to establish strong consistent roles . The team that got Njoku from me only had Clay.

As for Hill I think he is just scratching the surface and the switch to Mahomes is a giant plus. I've been trying to obtain Hill since August on a dynasty team and this is the first time I've pulled it off.  He only got 105 targets in 15 games, that's not a huge role and I anticipate this moving up quite a bit with stronger armed more aggressive QB. I can't say enough how dynamic I think the Mahomes/Hill duo will be and in fact I think I'll stop but here is a good read for anyone who thinks Hill is still a gimmick WR, also details just how dominant he was on a per target basis:Tyreek Hill is elite

Caveat, I own Kelce in 5/6 out of my FFPC leagues. Engram is a terrific top 30 player in the format, but I like Kelce as a top 8 player and feel we will continue to see 18 PPG with upside for more with Mahomes. I certainly recognize the age difference, but I would need closer to 1.4 on top of Engram to move off of Kelce.

I can see why some would prefer Kelce and consider him the new #1 TE  in dynasty but I'd take Engram straight up, close but I'd take him straight up so to me this is free 1.8.

I still question whether he will ever become a consistent enough passer to be a top 3-5 option at the position. Back end qb1 seems about right to me

I think it's a pretty fair trade myself and I'm looking at it from this angle.

I'd take Watson over Ryan/Cohen and I say that as someone who is higher on Cohen than most.

Julio vs Davis is slight edge to Julio but really small.

All in all I'd view Watson, Davis for Ryan, Cohen and Julio as relatively even. In fact I got Ryan, Julio and Cohen on a team and I'd have to really mull it over if someone offered me Watson and Davis, would be a tough call for me.

Olsen vs 3.4 seems to slightly favor Olsen but I only play in one small single TE PPR league and a little out of touch with their value in those leagues.

I'd take the two players.

I got Julio and Juju on a team that also has AB and have been looking at dealing Julio for a younger WR to try and think a few years down the road. Team is also deep. So in that sense Odell would be just what the team needed but even with all that said I'd still take the Julio/JuJu side and I would label OBJ the #1 dynasty WR.

My logic might be faulty but way I see it is next 3 years I'm better with Julio/JuJu. Assuming everyone is healthy in  3 years Odell will be where Julio is now, 29 and people wanting to move before his price drops it might be that 25 year old JuJu is as much or more coveted. Hard to predict that long out, but the duo in the short term.

Dak is going to surprise a lot of people & is now a big-time bargain. He was one of the top scorers as late as the first half of the season until Zeke got suspended & the injury to Tyrone Smith caused pass pro problems.

He’s been throwing to a below-average receiving corps & it’s going to make all the  difference in the world as Dallas upgrades their WRs. Gathers might be a monster, as well.

Huge ceiling for Dak.

Yes he was great to start the season, but he was even more horrific to finish it. That can’t be discounted.  Ball placement, pocket awareness, etc etc it has to be very concerning for his owners. He looked flat out lost at times.  

I still think he rebounds from that and settles in as a back end qb1, but your expectations seem quite lofty

I wish I could get silly offers like that. I guess I got one once where I got gronk and gave fleener/2nd when fleener went to NO. The only time I can remember hitting accept as fast as I could hoping I didn’t miss the chance.

I can see it if someone is really into Davis and Watson that much. This is a weird one for me because if I already had either of these sides I don't think I would move it for the opposite side. I guess that means it's pretty even for me. But my gut reaction is that Julio should haul more. 

I see this as roughly Watson and the 3.04 for Ryan, Olsen and Cohen. Then it leaves Davis for Julio. Not terrible. Not great.
