I could see both sides of this personally. I'd lean towards Etienne with getting 1.07 back but I don't blame anyone for moving up if they believe in the top 3.

Yes but 20 inseason with 3 IR. Yeah I don't know it's just another one of those deals that materialized out of thin air.

This could look a lot different once landing spots are known, but give me 1.07/ETN. Assuming Walker and Willis go 1 and 2, that leaves Walker/whichever WR you put a WR1. If you believe ETN comes back healthy, I'd say he's at least a wash with, and probably a little above Walker, especially in PPR. Further, I don't see much difference (today) between WR1 and WR4. 1.07 in Superflex is a value pick.

Lol. I didn't like it either. RBs are hard to come by in this league. I would have liked to see that be at least a 2nd personally. especially since the dude getting Sanders already has like 6 picks in the 4th, 5th, and 6th round before that. He is way deeper at WR than RB though so it did address a need.

I’d go so far as to say if I absolutely knew the 23’ pick was going to be either 1.01 or 1.02, I’d trade Lance right now for it. I’ll roll the dice with either Bryce or Stroud over him, and I’m a fan of Lance.My autocorrect is killing me. “Mighty” is a word, phone!

I’m kinda feeling this too. And I’m a Niners fan.
The only thing is, opportunity has value. If indeed Lance is the starter in 2022, that 1/32 jobs he has.
Same might not be said for Stroud or Young out of the gate (though it’s likely if they go to SEA, ATL, CAR, NYG, etc)

In my opinion the 2.5" is the major difference.
The secondary difference is Lance played in a pro style offense at N Dakota St and has a year of seasoning so in theory he should be more advanced then Willis would be at this stage even if Willis played more games in college against better comp.
ETA-in terms of their future outlook or next few years at least we already know Lance is paired with arguably one the best offensive minds in the game. That was a major appeal of Lance for me when he landed in SF.

49ers have quite a bit of draft capital sunk into Lance with the 49ers giving away so much to take him. I sure Willis will have 1st round draft capital, but not on par with Lance

How is Lance (last year) more NFL-ready? I would agree that today Lance is a bit more NFL ready but only because he had a year to go through practice & the NFL life (which is a big experience). I think Willis coming out of college and Lance coming out of college are identical in terms of NFL-ready. Both are multi-year projects.
I didn't see anything out of Lance last year in the NFL to say he is NFL ready. He is still a project.

That was basically the point I was trying to make as well - Lance was not considered NFL ready either. I actually think Willis has more upside as a prospect but draft capital is a real thing and @menobrownmakes a good point about Lances situation being ideal whereas Willis could land in Detroit or somewhere less intriguing.

I love Burrow but not sure he’s a big enough difference maker in fantasy to be worth that steep a price. It’s possible Lawrence is the better fantasy asset by years end.

I’m saying what was reported at the time of Lance being drafted (came from a pro-style system, etc) and comparing to what’s being said of Willis now (multi-year project)
I’m not saying I necessarily agree with it, I’m just saying that’s the difference.

This one sticks out to me. Heck of a premium to pay when it is not out of the realm of possibilities that Lawrence ends up the better dynasty asset over Burrow.

I'd go T-Law and 1.01 but it isn't as far as some of these guys are saying. There is no way a Jags QB is going to be worth more than Burrow. Joey B has already showed us what he can be and he has great weapons. Jags QBs always disappoint and are run terribly. The difference isn't 1.01 but this is SF and Burrow could be a difference maker for years where Lawrence could strive to be a stolid starter.

I like this trade for you. Love me some Chase. I like the top 5 of this draft more than a lot of others do but Chase is a top end talent that you can't be sure you get even in a really strong draft.

You aren't completely wrong but I feel Wentz was crazy overrated that year even though he had a good year and that Philly D played out of their mind on that SB run but Foles played great too for sure. Flashes in the pan. Even if T-Law has that type of year, I wouldn't expect it to last. Like Bortles for the Jags in 2016 or whatever it was.
Trevor Lawrence isn't some rando Jags QB but he isn't as good as Joe Burrow. When I see him on the field, I don't see a guy that has what it takes to push to be one of the best QBs in the league. I do see that in Joey B. I believe anyone that thinks it is even possible for T-Law to be a better asset than Joey B by the end of this year is wrong. Just my thoughts.

It was a no brainer. And the Metcalf deal even moreso.
Renfrow, 1.03, 1.04, 1.06 is a TERRIBLE return on Chase/Metcalf even in a normal draft class, much less one that is mostly agreed to be fairly weak.

I would take whatever you saw of Trevor Lawrence last year and erase it from your brain - he was with Urban Meyer. Remember? Urban was going to fire his entire staff and cut all his players if they didn't get him that W? Trevor Lawrence is the highest graded QB prospect in 10 years and I think he could get to Joe Burrow's level at some point.

I think that was his point. Wentz and Foles weren't special players but Pederson still got great production out of them. So imagine what he might be able to do with one of the top 3 QB prospects of the last 25 years.

The Philly D carried them in that Super Bowl? The score was 41-33 and the Patriots came very close to scoring in the last second to potentially tie it up.
I really don't know if Lawrence will be a great pro but he was considered to be the top prospect since Manning and I don't think we can base anything off of the Urban Meyers disaster.
I'm not sure how some one can be wrong about saying something is possible that's actually possible but ok. Is it likely? Probably not, but I would be far from shocked if their numbers are close - don't forget Lawrence can actually run with the ball and those rushing stats add up quick for QBs.

I agree that Urban was a turd and ruined that team. Just saying what I see. T-Law still played the games, still made the reads, still made the throws, and looked bad. I do expect him to be much better though for sure. I just don't see them ever getting weapons like Chase/Higgins/Boyd and definitely not a WR that he will ever have the history with that Burrow has with Chase.
I remember when Ryan Leaf was one of the highest graded prospects and there was legitimate questions on if he should go ahead of Payton Manning. Don't think that worked out for the Chargers. Also, bad organizations (Jags definitely are) can significantly damage good prospects. Give me Burrow all day and 10 times on Sunday over Lawrence.
