Ok, so you’ll be be getting Bijan. That helps offset losing the RBs.

At face value, yes. Get Allen. Allen/Hurts is a monstrous 1-2 at QB.

Geno isn’t a long term dude and I’m not even sure he can replicate 2022. But he is valuable in the barren wasteland that is QB in 2023x

Getting the 1.09 is decent as well.

It’s a bit of an overpay, maybe by as much as Dobbins. But that’s what it takes to pry Allen away from someone and I would definitely do this. I’d do it 100/100 times because it sets you up for the long term, and also because opportunities to get a Josh Allen in SF are extremely rare.

RBs come and go. I overpaid for TLaw recently for the exact same reason. And for Fields in another league. It’s both immediately beneficial, and secures your future at the hardest position to fill in that format.

Sorry, just to avoid confusion I wouldn’t be getting Bijan as I’d be trading away my 1.01 in the deal.

The last sentence I put was regarding a separate offer I’d been been sent ( I give Etienne and receive 1.04 ) and what I would do if I took that offer instead of the Allen one.

Yeah well…1) I see the Bills offense and Allen himself continuing to sag a bit and 2) that is a hefty, HEFTY price to pay.

I’m willing to go down with the ship on Richardson which is the requisite mentality if you’re going to invest but, hoo boy, the upside is just insanely massive. Knowing landing spot would help a ton because he’ll need to have a good staff to develop him but he’s a guy I’ll shove my chips on and let the cards fall.

If he can get it done without the 1.01, or without Dobbins/ETN, it’s a good long term move.

Get Allen if you can’t just don’t overpay by too much.

Geno offers very little long term upside.

Agreed on Geno, but I don't mind him as a QB2 on a win-now team (assuming he's the starter this season).

It's a nice advantage to have a QB combo like Allen and Hurts. However, I'm generally not a fan of overpaying for someone at the height of his value. I don't know his scoring system, but the choice is between starting Geno at QB2, and then Bijan, Etienne and Dobbins at RB, OR starting Allen at QB and then figuring out which of Pacheco, Akers, Penny, Allgeier or 1.09 (if he picks RB) to start every week, all of whom are in shaky situations and could see their value plummet in a couple weeks. Allen is a nice luxury, but there are more ways for the deal as outlined to go wrong than to go right.

Fine but you painted that as something specific to Ridley and it's not and all of those players are valued higher then him so so to say his value can't go up is not something I agree with.

None of those guys missed time due to mental health. None of those guys have missed most of the last 2 years.

This not only means zero to but does not even match the fact that Ridley's had less wear and tear on his body then those players, is younger then all of them, and is more motivated then any of them to see future paydays. I'll take that over what you paint as concerns.

I think that's a serious overpay for Allen. #1, I seriously question Allen's ability to stay in the top 3QB range in the long term. He's big, yes, but he's pretty cavalier with his body and that crap takes a toll. #2 you have a relatively strong contender team as it is. Your team could use a viable QB3 and an eventual replacement for Geno, but that could happen down the road. #3, the 1.09 isn't likely to be a day 1 starter on your team unless you get absolutely lucky.
If I were you, I might be inclined to trade the 1.01 to a RB needy team. Target young WR1s and future draft capital. Or hell, keep 1.01, draft Bijan, and trade Dobbins/Akers to that RB needy team for a WR with upside.

If you have an ETN for 1.4 deal on the table, I think I’d take that deal and pick a rookie QB there, and then take Bijan with your 1.1.

Geno will hold you over this year and hopefully your rookie QB is the long term solution to pair with Hurts.

You brought up age as a reason his value can't increase. I think it's valid to show players who are older who are more valuable.

I never said I had him on the same level of them. I said he's as talented as some of them and since I think he's in a great situation now I absolutely expect his value to rise and possibly on par or above those players because of his talent. And rest assured I always put my money were my mouth is with things I say on these boards. Always.

That is what I would do. Or move ETN first if you can find a deal. I actually think the overall RB1 in dynasty is more valuable than Josh Allen to be honest, even though Allen has more paper value in trades. I'd throw the rest of that side without the 1.01 at them and see what happens. Not sure it can happen without the 1.01 though. It is strange but I feel like even though Allen is worth more on paper, Bijan is the one that should be commanding an overpay.

Again, just to be clear, I wasn’t saying he should go for this once I realized losing the 1.01 was involved. I misread what he said as like, he’d still have the 1.01 after. That was my bad.

As for trading ETN for a QB as was suggested, that’s much easier said than done. As someone who just dealt for a QB in 2 different SF formats, I can attest that it’s tough out there on these streets.

There’s only so many worth acquiring in dynasty, for one. There’s what, like 8 solid QBs, another dozen with age/other question marks making them short-term acquisitions. And then another whole hodge podge of meh out there. And LJax and his contract situation are part of that 1st group.

Respectfully, given the current landscape of the QB position, I disagree that having Allen/Hurts in SF, potentially 2x top 4 QBs, isn’t a massive advantage as compared to the RB position.

In league sizes of 12 or more, having 2 elite QBs against opponents running out Geno/Carr or some other combo of scrubs gives you a floor that likely 65% of your league can’t touch.

Obviously I wouldn’t suggest completely decimating your roster for it, but guys like Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Hurts are only made available once a blue moon in dynasty leagues.

If a reasonable deal can be worked, I think @TartanLion should try to get it done.

This definitely goes in line with how I’ve read the landscape in recent times and also with the analysis I tend to digest - RotoUnderworld/RayGQ/DynastyTradesIn5 with Scott Connor Shane and Clay etc

ALL are basically like you have a chance to get 2 top QBs you do it within reason. You’re looking at weeks where you could get 60-70 pts on the board with just your 2 QBs.

Any of these top 9 guys are gold dust. Once you have that secured and don’t need to think about it, you don’t need to pay big prices for anything else and all upcoming draft picks can be geared towards hoovering up good WRs and RBs whilst others are still thinking QB. Or if you end up with further high 1sts they can have massive value to QB needy teams. Basically, people pay massive prices for QBs and value them highly above and over any other position

I do agree though for sure that due to roster construction and the fact that the 1.01 is involved this deal needs to be changed a little and not have me so cleaned out at RB. And as stated some other routes I could go down eg I think I could use the 1.01 to maybe get one of Fields or Watson for a lesser price

I dealt 1.04, 1.10, & Pacheco for Fields.

You could reasonably get Fields, depending on whether the owner believes he’s a sell high or not. It’s not a bad target.

But you know Allen is available. I’d humbly suggest it’s worth exploring the **** out of that before moving to another potential target. Maybe work in a 2024 1st so you’re not losing that much from your active roster.

I’m just not sure that the drop off in weekly points from having Bijan/RBX at RB to RB2/RBX will be more significant than the drop-off from having 2 elite QBs to Hurts/QBX

The X being a lesser RB2-3-type & at QB something in the Carr/Tua//Ridder/Mayfield/Geno range.

And that’s only addressing the short term. Like sure, maybe Zappe becomes the starting QB for the Pats this year and is a serviceable SF QB. Like Geno, it’s unlikely to help a team for the longer haul.

I get what you’re saying - Barkley, CMC, JT, Eke, Hall, Bijan - it’s an elite, and small group of elite talent at RB. If Bijan proves to be all that, he will undoubtedly be a difference maker at RB.

But it’s also at a position with a shorter shelf-life, and in a format where QB value is amplified.

I’m a big Bijan fan and I’m excited to have him in one league. But I’d deal the 1.01 + pieces to get Allen in SF every chance I had. Thus far the Allen shareholders in my leagues have been uninterested in moving him.

Yeah this is my best team. Did a massive 3 year rebuild at just the right time. Figure Olave helps me cover injuries and bye weeks and still roll out a stud lineup (if I keep him).

Agree with your last couple lines there and I might end up flipping him. He’s a whole lot more appealing as trade bait than Herbert. This was probably the only team I could get anything decent from in return for a QB. Just feel like I have a ton more options now. Between Olave and the lock top 4 2024 1st that’s in my pocket I have ammo for some big moves during the season.

Yeah was fully expecting a counter without the 1.12 included or swapping out Herbert for Burrow . I probably would have accepted without the 1.12 to be honest.

Best part of this deal is I felt like my roster had a logjam preventing me from trading…and I love to trade. Got Olave, 1.12, and early 24 1st in my trading sandbox to play with now.

Yep even better. Kelce is the ultimate win now piece. I haven’t noticed any slippage in his game yet and would be shocked if he doesn’t continue crushing for the next couple seasons. He should age well busting all those zone coverages.

my only comment/observation is that, in FFPC, with 2 flex spots in addition to 2RB and 2WR, Olave isn’t just depth for bye weeks or injuries. He’s an every week starter in one of those flex spots, especially looking at your thin RB corpe. Yes?

Just on paper either Olave or whichever TE I don’t start between Pitts and Hock will have to be on the bench each week. That’s probably a matchup game I will play and definitely a first world problem to have lol. Most likely though I’ll make a move for another RB at some point if I can find the right value proposition. Might even make a run at Gibbs if I like where he ends up being drafted. IDK, got a lot of possibilities to consider now. Like Meno mentioned I’m an Olave fan but probably a little below the market on him and don’t consider him untouchable. Much more like a highly desirable trade piece.

Again, just to be clear, I wasn’t saying he should go for this once I realized losing the 1.01 was involved. I misread what he said as like, he’d still have the 1.01 after. That was my bad.

But if he can work it so that he can keep ETN/Dobbins or the 1.01 I like it a lot for Allen in SF.

As for trading ETN for a QB as was suggested, that’s much easier said than done. As someone who just dealt for a QB in 2 different SF formats, I can attest that it’s tough out there on these streets.

There’s only so many worth acquiring in dynasty, for one. There’s what, like 8 solid QBs, another dozen with age/other question marks making them short-term acquisitions. And then another whole hodge podge of meh out there. And LJax and his contract situation are part of that 1st group.

Respectfully, given the current landscape of the QB position, I disagree that having Allen/Hurts in SF, potentially 2x top 4 QBs, isn’t a massive advantage as compared to the RB position.

In league sizes over 12, having 2 elite QBs against opponents running out Geno/Carr or some other combo of scrubs gives you a floor that likely 65% of your league can’t touch.

Obviously I wouldn’t suggest completely decimating your roster for it, but guys like Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Hurts are only made available once a blue moon in dynasty leagues.

If a reasonably deal can be worked, I think @TartanLion should try to get it done.

This definitely goes in line with how I’ve read the landscape in recent times and also with the analysis I tend to digest - RotoUnderworld/RayGQ/DynastyTradesIn5 with Scott Connor Shane and Clay etc

ALL are basically like you have a chance to get 2 top QBs you do it within reason. You’re looking at weeks where you could get 60-70 pts on the board with just your 2 QBs.

Any of these top 9 guys are gold dust. Once you have that secured and don’t need to think about it, you don’t need to pay big prices for anything else and all upcoming draft picks can be geared towards hoovering up good WRs and RBs whilst others are still thinking QB. Or if you end up with further high 1sts they can have massive value to QB needy teams. Basically, people pay massive prices for QBs and value them highly above and over any other position

I do agree though for sure that due to roster construction and the fact that the 1.01 is involved this deal needs to be changed a little and not have me so cleaned out at RB. And as stated some other routes I could go down eg I think I could use the 1.01 to maybe get one of Fields or Watson for a lesser price

I love the philosophy that you want as many elite players at as many positions as possible.

If I have an opportunity to lock up 2 young elite QB in SF, I will make efforts to do so every time such an opportunity is available.

I just did with TLaw in a 16-teamer. I reached out to the dude who put him on the block within minutes, & had a deal worked out in under 24 hours.

I’ve already had others in the league make offers for him at a profit - you just can’t go wrong acquiring that sort of rare asset.

Lots to give considering the 1.05 might be a real nice player. I won the ship in 2021 and finished 2nd place last season when my entire RB core got injured to end the year (Taylor, D Henry, Pollard, Gibson all missed week 17)
Interestingly this is 2 straight monster block buster trades now in the last 2 seasons.

Last year dealt Hall, Skyy Moore and the 2.01 during the rookie draft for Chase but it does not matter how great a team you have it never guarantees a championship as I was a team coming off a title and adding Chase and did not win it last year.

Unfortunately I just traded away all the possible assets to obtain a QB being 14 teams it is harder to get one then 12 team leagues obviously and right now my only QB's are Tom Brady and Mariota.

I have picks 1-2-3 in my 12 team rebuild. I’m taking 1 QB. I’m very not sure which QB I’m going to take. I have it close enough between my top two that landing spot / organization might be my deciding factor.

This trade has a caveat so it needs to be graded on a curve. We have contracts in these leagues and when they run out you can franchise them but they are on a 1 year contract so teams can do blind bid offers and you can accept 1 (with that new team getting them on open contract) or you can play it out on the 1 year deal and they become a RFA next year (you can franchise a max 2 times)

So the trade is clearly in my favor but looking at from his view might be why it gets accepted.
