Some of the riffs in the solo are hard, so I need to fake them a bitWow at playing YYZ. Love that song.

HELLYEA was great! I am not sure why I love that band so much but I do. I was the old guy in the mosh pitHitting up HELLYEAH in a smaller venue a few weeks from now. Never seen them before, pumped!
I had never heard of the openers, but they are very good:Guess this is my next show...
Children Of Bodom, w/ Carach Angren, Lost Society, Uncured Sun, November 5, 2017
I haven't been to Slim's in years.this is probably more punk than metal, but i'm going to see Hot Water Music at Slim's next month. been about 10 years since i saw them last...great live show.
yeah, it's been a decade or more for me.I haven't been to Slim's in years.
Earlier today I posted a note about the upcoming Children of Bodom concert. I want to recommend the venue. I just saw Gojira there, and it's awesome. It's The UC Theatre in Berkeley. They appear to have metal shows regularly. For example, Mike Patton and Dave Lombardo's band Dead Cross is playing there tomorrow night. Beautiful venue, tickets are reasonable, and it's not sleazy the way that The Warfield is.yeah, it's been a decade or more for me.
thanks. i signed up for their email list.Earlier today I posted a note about the upcoming Children of Bodom concert. I want to recommend the venue. I just saw Gojira there, and it's awesome. Which reminds me. Last November the wife and I got to go to a meet and greet with Steve Vai. Later on, we met up with our kids and stood front of the stage. Vai gave the wife and daughter flowers and the band's set list which was at the front of the stage also. Here are a few photos. Not metal, but this will blow your mind. Two of the greatest musicians in the world...

It is.That new QotSA song The Evil Has Landed is killer. I may need to revisit them because I've never been a huge fan.
...and for that matter, Kyuss and Orange Goblin. It is.
I was thinking the other day that you should check out Kyng and High On Fire. Two bands I think you would enjoy if you're unfamiliar.
Matt Pike has been in and out of rehab. They were supposed to have something new for 2017, but that looks doubtful. Who knows.I know I've listened to Fire on High and liked it. Seems like they haven't put anything out in a while or I just missed it.
This tune is an absolute masterclass in song writing.Ghost released the official video for "He Is" today.
(maybe a little nsfw....there's a wet t-shirt or two at the end)
Not a big fan of Ghost, but this song/video is spot on.This tune is an absolute masterclass in song writing.
Ghost is interesting if nothing else. The more I listen to them, the more I dig the music and hate the costumes. The costumes simply do not fit the music.Patrick Bateman said:Not a big fan of Ghost, but this song/video is spot on.

Yeah, seeing them open for Iron Maiden, the Maiden fans didn't know what to make of Ghost. But like you said, if you can separate Ghost's look from the music, the music's pretty fun.Ghost is interesting if nothing else. Arch Enemy - "Nemesis" (my favorite AE tune.) First link live in Tokyo with Angela on vocals, second link live at Wacken with Alissa on vocals.
Leaving aside for the moment how gorgeous the lead guitar melodies are on this song and how F#$%ING good Arch Enemy is live... two questions on the vocalists.
1) Who's hotter?
2) Who sings it better?
The brunette (Alissa?) on both questions.OK, a topic that needs to be discussed here, and this is really the only place for it.

Angela and Alissa both kill it, but I'll give the win to Alissa.OK, a topic that needs to be discussed here, and this is really the only place for it.

One of those bands that just keeps cranking out great record after great record. You can put their new stuff up against anything they did earlier. Plus they tour a lot. I feel the same way about Overkill.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVsgyQeaba4
