I think it's a server issue. Try to go in and specify the type of game you want. Don't do quick match or if the reverse isn't working, try it the other way. It'll work eventually.

So, if we are going to start clanning, and potentially getting ready for the Online Gaming League ladders, we really ought to legitimize this operation with our clan tag.

Now, to start with the obvious choice, since this will presumably be a FBG clan, we could just be "Clan Footballguys," and have a tag along the lines of [FBG], |FBG|, or the like. (e.g., "Otis66 |FBG|" or, perhaps more fitting for this place, "Otis66 :FBG:") By the way, if we can't edit our gamertags, this could throw a real wrench in the :nerd: works.

Another option is to go with something that really describes us all, i.e., :nerd:

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go get hammered, plan tongue hockey with some blonde 22 year olds, defile the most willing, and wake up in a pool of vomit, all after I do 100 push-ups and have my single-bachelor-guy tuxedo dry-cleaned and Ferrari polished.

You can't change your gamertag as far as I know but this is a good idea. I can get a new one when my free 30 days runs out.
 
how good is this game? what does it do? why are all you nerds panting on each other?

the last time I played an action game, was halo, because I got to play my BIL and nephew and we could all run around and kill each other. than, I played 20 minutes of the actual gameplay and then shut it off, never to be touched again.

is this different?

You can change your name, but it costs money. Their reasoning is that if it was free, all the aholes would constantly change their names. I think it's about $10. Not that much, but certainly enough not to be worth it.

I disagree. The simple additon of the cover feature alone makes them different. It plays more realistic due to this. Halo to me is a lot more fast paced and more arcade-ish. GOW is the truth!

I missed ya by less than 30 mins I saw. Had some issues setting everything up. Alllll gooooood now!Now if work would get out of the way....... :wall: -fe
 
FYI, the co-op multiplayer campaigns are pretty deece, as well. Much more enjoyable than merely charging through solo unless, of course, you play with someone like Beaver the ammo thief.

Running out of bullets near an emergence hole is teh suxxors.

 
I'm going to pick up my kid from hoops then out to dinner, I'm guessing I'll be on around 730-8 pst.

Having problems connecting via XBox Live, it detects a wired connection but it cannot establish an IP Address, all I did was unplug my computer and plug the ethernet into the XBox, here are the status codes I am getting:

W: 0000 - 000BX: 4000 - 1001Y: 0000 - 0000Z: 0000 - 0000

any ideas? I am going to try to reboot my router with the XBox connected.

My suggestion was the last thing you mentioned. I'd unplug the router & modem w/ the 360 hooked up and leave it for about 2 mins unpluged. Then give it a go. GL and hopefully see you later tonight!-fe
 
I got a stupid question for you guys, I have never played games online with other people, how does it work? Do you hook your Xbox up to your CPU and play through the CPU, or do you have to have a Satalite connection,and play through your TV? Just curous how it works TIA :banned:

 
Sorry I haven't played on Live with you guys yet. I'm a noob so I've been playing the solo campaign trying to sharpen my skills. I think I've finished Act 3 and should be a little more comfortable shooting it up with other humans.

 
How you guys do it without a mouse and keyboard is beyond me. I need to learn the controller.

 
i just finished the Campaign tonight and DAMN! it was fun.

Insane difficulty is no joke either.

 
My wife and I want to get a car racing game to play together. Any suggestions on ones that aren't too difficult and won't get boring...?

Sorry about last night. In the middle of the game, my modem crapped out. I had to call tech support this morning and then after 45 minutes they finally found the problem. I might be on later tonight and maybe during the day.

I guess last night we saw the real Otis playing and not the kid he payed to play the night before when he was schooling us.

 
So where do we stand on getting Joe to give timeouts to members that ignore our game invites? Leaving us stuck to play 3-on-2 all night is hardly "being excellent". And that's not to even mention people choosing to play Star Wars Legos over Gears at 2 a.m. :shock:

Likely story.I checked the morning line, and the FBG wager says you had to go out foraging for pickles, ice cream and salsa-flavored Doritos.
