I found a suitcase/box of money and some other stuff swimming around in the ocean on the left side of the city. There are sunken ships out there and there appear to be goodies. The boat I found had a case of 9 grand I think and an assault rifle.

There are also crashed aircraft. Apparently lots of loot on the sea floor. If only I could swim properly. I think I've drowned poor Franklin 2 or 3 times.

Good trick - which actually helps with the above and I meant to post it but had to do a meeting....

If you see your guy drowning, quickly switch to another character - no matter where he is on the map. When you switch back to the guy that was drowning he will still be under water, but have full health. Also, it appears that some of the stuff on the sea floor reappears. The money and the gun I picked up a couple times in the same game while I was searching around and almost drowning. I would switch to the other guy then switch right back and keep searching. Stuff down there seems to respawn. I don't know if it is unlimited but it's worth it if you need stuff.

I'm not saying I've done it. I'm just telling you what I've read. I don't have an hour to sit there and do that kind of stupid stuff. I barely have an hour a night to play the game the way it's meant to be played.

Is there any benefit to playing tennis with your wife?

Yes, playing Tennis ups Michael's strength by a full bar until the last one, when it took 2 or 3 games to max him out. Didn't appear to matter which difficulty I played on, so if you're in it to max your strength, play on easy so it's quicker.

Franklin apparently isn't allowed to play tennis as the icons are all disabled for him. Brother can't play tennis? Haven't they ever heard of Venus, Serena, and Arther Ashe? Tried golf with him but didn't help his strength. Not sure what to use to up his strength besides punching people.

By the way, shooting range at Ammunation is great for maxing out shooting. Silvers in everything with maybe 3 golds sprinkled in took Franklin from one bar of shooting to maxing him out at 5 bars.

Have any of you really noticed a difference in actions depending on character stats? Like have you noticed a difference driving with a guy at 5 bars instead of 2? Stamina is the only one I've noticed. You can run longer. I guess lung capacity is a difference maker too, but what does shooting and driving really do for you? More damage per shot? Easier to control the car?

Yea, I've noticed that driving with Trevor is more difficult to control... he'll go into skids easier when turning.

The physics engine really did get a wonderful upgrade.

Remember real life images of race cars that get a little too much air under them and it lifts them like a wing and they just take off? Something like this.

I had one of these happen to me in GTA. Was using one of the high end sports cars and was turning as I crested a hill at a moderately fast speed. As my wheels left the ground, the car looked like it caught that air and turned into a flying wing and soared up higher than what my speed going over the hill could have accounted for normally. Flew sideways and then was able to make a spinning landing right side up, plowing through a mess of cars and traffic signs before it was done.

Count me as another who thinks underwater $$ farming is cheesy, but I'm dying for cash. I'm at a point (33% complete) where all of these properties are available, but I can't muster the cash to buy them.

While robbing gas stations and clothing stores is fun, it's usually a loss as I'll rake maybe $800 in two hits, then end up in the hospital in the ensuing cop chase and get slapped with $1300 medical bill.

The stock market ain't much better. I invested a ton in Clukinchiken (sp?) with the idea of targeting competing trucks to drive up the stock. But then never found any TacoBomb trucks.

I guess playing the main story is the best way to get money.

I don't think so. I'm not an expert on this, but they seem to have gone to great lengths to setup most companies with one (and only one) natural rival. So instead of shorting Redwood Cigarettes, you'd just buy Debonair Cigarettes stock.

If you're going to destroy eCola trucks (which I see a lot in the game), you'd buy Rain (or whatever the silly bottled water is). I

Yeah, heists pay big money. Even smaller missions pay quite a bit, but most of that money goes to buying guns and ammo for me.

I think I'm going to wait for the PC version. The graphics are always 10x better and the mods/updates are better.

It might be a few months before it comes out but I bought a $1,200 gaming rig for a reason. Don't see the need to go buy a PS3 just for this game.

Again, I could be wrong, but I thought the initial reports were that there were no plans to make a PC version. I could just be reporting false rumors I've heard though. So. There's that.

I read somewhere that there is coding for the PS4 and PC embedded in the game. I am also waiting for the PC version because of all the fantastic mods that come out for the GTA games.

I don't have a console and don't want one - I too heard that they were NOT coming out with a PC version - if anyone hears differently let us know.

Every version of GTA has come out in PC version 5 months or so after the console release.

I don't get that at all but to each his own. To me there is a difference between doing something the game lets you - getting something that respawns over and over - and actually typing in a cheat code which I have done for example on Vice City after I beat it. That game is fun as hell with the cheat codes especially spawning a tank at the very beginning and just blowing up everything in sight vigilante style until you have too much money to count.

Back to this game, I find myself wanting to just play the stock market. Invested about 10G's last night in a company and let it go up a few percent then sold just to get a feel for it. Very fun. I am starting to believe that I need to just invest, destroy competitor, and then make money for hours to days on end before I progress the story at all.

Hmm... Didn't even think of that.

I hated the past two GTA's. Played them for a combined total of about 15 minutes. But this game is really keeping my interest. I love it.

I just wish I had a grapple hook and infinite parachute, like Just Cause 2.

Hmmm. I just outran them. I thought the point of that chase was to get to a certain point. It didn't even occur to me to shoot them.

Does this game have a story line that changes by your decisions? I haven't thought about something like that.

Maybe you can make money off the market. Last night I noticed Ammu-Nation's competitor HAL (listed on BAWSAQ) was going for a ridiculously low $1 a share. I had Trevor buy 51000 shares and this morning it's selling at $1.36 for 36% profit.

I'm early enough in that most of my cash was from the jewelry heist. Franklin has also made some money on the hotel assassination and paparazzi missions.

While some of them are kind of a bust, a lot of the real estate locations that you can buy can provide quite a lucrative weekly income. I think I read somewhere that a week in-game is like 5 hours and 20 minutes of gameplay (although I'm not sure if it counts if you save your game in a bed and sleep like 12 hours til it's dark/light out).

I've been saving up my money to buy the LS International Airport -- I think it's like $1.5 million or something close to that. I'm kind of banking on the fact that the income from the purchase will be worth it, but at the very least it should give access to the airfield area so stealing planes/causing general mayhem with the AUG insurance trick will be much easier.

I just read that for GTA Online, there's going to be a mission creator tool within so that you can create your own missions for you and your friends and/or crews to play through. Should be a lot of fun and provide a ton of longevity right there.

You can also -- in addition to customizing your look, starting stats, etc. -- come up with a backstory for your online character as well. This will apparently help dictate your starting location when you initially kick things off.

I was reading a lot of people's comments about the stock market. It sounds like the only thing people are finding is constantly repeatable is the assassination missions affecting the competitor.

People are posting they've gone blowing up planes on a dozen different occasions for example, and the competitor does not show a reproducible increase as a result. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes down, it isn't always climbing for them.

Last time I looked as well, the graph in the single player stock market doesn't seem to change for any of the stocks. The day of the week changes, but the actual artwork above it seemed to be constant and does not reflect the current price for example.

Oh, and wanted to add... the one spot in the ocean with the crashed plane that people are farming money... you can get RPGs close by before they are available for sale.

In GTA4, cop cars were everywhere. I was constantly smashing into them. Here, they show up if you're wanted, and occasionally they will come up from behind, chasing another car. Only exception I've seen is at the airport, which is crawling with them.

It's easy to duck into an alley, tunnel, or under an overpass to evade the cops. But, I haven't found a safe spot to camp out and snipe cars as they roll by. In GTA4 you could sit on a roof and blow up cop cars and helicopters for hours. Not possible here.

I pimped out Franklin with a 'fro, full beard, gold rim shades, earrings, and a sweet charcoal pants/vest combo. Dude looks like Barry White. But, some missions cause him to randomly change clothes, and when I go to change him back, the outfit is not in his closet. I have to go back to the store just to change him (does not make me buy the clothes again though).

I hate getting forced into missions every time I walk into a safehouse trying to just save and log off.

There are too many huge '50's cars in this game. Looks odd and out of place.

I keep failing the stunt jumps at the airport. No idea what the goal is. Typically I fly straight up in the air and come down sideways.

The combat stealth/cover functions are much easier and more intuitive than GTA4. The missions where you have to constantly move, cover and shoot are downright addictive.

Last time I showered was Sunday, I believe. My wife said it's like I'm out of town since I bought the game.

Instead of going to a safehouse just save the game on your phone. Much easier to quicksave from there.

Also, am I the only one that doesn't mess around with "styling" the characters? Other than the missions which forced me to visit a clothing store, I haven't gotten a haircut or taken time to change clothes at the house. Seems kinda gay. I'm kinda drunk right now though, so I dunno maybe it's just me that's weird. If I cared about that #### I would go play the sims.

It's a little less than 1.4 mill... but there's no income, it's just a hangar. It allows you free comings and goings of the airfield and the jets there... but you can't save a fighter jet there for later use... You can land and save and have the fighter jet to take out anytime you want without having to steal it... but it won't be there if you go away and come back (lame)

I noticed this too. I armed myself with explosives and took the blimp to a high building. I was doing well enough until two helicopters appeared. As I took out one, the other repelled three SWAT guys behind me. It was almost impossible to deal with both.

Just do a Quick Save from your cellphone. I almost never go the safehouses to save. There's no point, unless you want to pass game time sleeping.

You can save anywhere in game using your phone as long as your not in a mission.

Some observations:

In GTA4, cop cars were everywhere. I was constantly smashing into them. Here, they show up if you're wanted, and occasionally they will come up from behind, chasing another car. Only exception I've seen is at the airport, which is crawling with them.

It's easy to duck into an alley, tunnel, or under an overpass to evade the cops. But, I haven't found a safe spot to camp out and snipe cars as they roll by. In GTA4 you could sit on a roof and blow up cop cars and helicopters for hours. Not possible here.

I pimped out Franklin with a 'fro, full beard, gold rim shades, earrings, and a sweet charcoal pants/vest combo. Dude looks like Barry White. But, some missions cause him to randomly change clothes, and when I go to change him back, the outfit is not in his closet. I have to go back to the store just to change him (does not make me buy the clothes again though).

I hate getting forced into missions every time I walk into a safehouse trying to just save and log off.

There are too many huge '50's cars in this game. Looks odd and out of place.

I keep failing the stunt jumps at the airport. No idea what the goal is. Typically I fly straight up in the air and come down sideways.

The combat stealth/cover functions are much easier and more intuitive than GTA4. The missions where you have to constantly move, cover and shoot are downright addictive.

Last time I showered was Sunday, I believe. My wife said it's like I'm out of town since I bought the game.

Instead of going to a safehouse just save the game on your phone. Much easier to quicksave from there.

Also, am I the only one that doesn't mess around with "styling" the characters? Other than the missions which forced me to visit a clothing store, I haven't gotten a haircut or taken time to change clothes at the house. Seems kinda gay. I'm kinda drunk right now though, so I dunno maybe it's just me that's weird. If I cared about that #### I would go play the sims.

I was hoping they had a huge afro, pimp suit and platform shoes for Franklin. The outfit I picked gives sort of the same effect. Pretty funny to see him out stealing cars and shooting cops dressed like a player.

And Trevor looked like a freaking scumbag, I had to give him some new threads too.

I went the exact opposite with Franklin. I gave him cornrows and a big bushy black beard and I have him trotting around in a wifebeater, sweatpants, and some plain shoes. It works to make him look intimidating, but also works if he ever needs to moonlight as a homeless guy.
