Actually, on second thought, it may just be easier for you all to just PM me your e-mails (or reply in here with them but separate them with spaces or . to avoid spam) because there's an e-mail invite option that is looking like it's much simpler than the other friend-lookup way. The choice is up to you, though, so just pick either one and let's get this party started!

Last night I was driving downtown and there was a cop sitting at a red light. I blew by him doing about a hundred em pee ayches and went right through the red light. Pig didn't even attempt to pull me over and give me a ticket. So much for this game being realistic.

Hey, if people were hijacking airliners, knocking out random people for ####s and giggles (and in some cases to make sure they can still feel :lmao: ) and trying to set large groups of people on fire with gasoline, people speeding around in cars would be the least of your worries as a cop, wouldn't it?

Wait, were you playing as Franklin, or one of the other characters? If the former, I agree, total lapse of reality.

Okay, so apparently we have to be friends on the Social Club for me to invite anyone if the crew is private. So if you don't have a Rockstar Social Club account yet, just head on over here to register and get one: https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/signup

Once you have an account all setup, reply back here with your name so I can invite/friend you into the crew. Even though 360 and PS3 owners won't be able to play against/with one another, obviously, we actually don't need to make two separate crews since both groups can be in the same crew, albeit just play separately. So that's good, I guess.

Anyway, I know this is a pain in the ### but it's the last step towards being a member of the crew, so suck it up, son!
Doh! Blocked from work. Will do it over the weekend.

It was Franklin. And the car was an expensive car. No way a young black kid from the hood could afford it. Probably a gangbanging, murderous druggie. At least that's what profiling would tell me if I was a cop.

Loving the references to the other games in this one too. I giggle like a kid every time there is one. That is not a good example of my adult life.

Speaking of which am I the only one that caught the nod to LANoire in the game? The section of the city named Ellysian Fields...... yup, giggled there as well. It was the same kind of HOLY **** moment that you get in some great movies. Only it was a video game. Yeah.

Really, I do own my own business and am a very respected member of my community. Really, I am.

As someone who is not a big gamer at all, I'm going to need some examples.
Fresh in my head because I did it last night, during the lead up to the Heist mission when you are talking to your set up guy he references that a team member could be an eastern european guy that had been tearing up Liberty City but he is "off the grid" lately. That is your character in GTA IV. And there have been other references to him as well if I recall.

Oh yeah. I did catch that one. Made me chuckle.

Then there is the fact that you can go to CJ's and Rider houses in Grove and the colors are still there for the people.

If you look on Franklin's bookshelf (I've read this but not seen it) there is a book there titled Red Dead Redeption that is the book writen by the title characters son that takes over the game in the end - he says that would like to write a book about his dad.

It looks like Blaine County may be New Austin where RDR took place - check the street names when you are Trevor out there.

I'm sure there is more.

Can you explain how what other people are doing to the game is affecting my stock market when I'm not playing online? I really don't get that.

If you're not online then it doesn't. Only when you connect does the BAWSAQ side of the stock market update to reflect current online player results.

I'm in for general online mayhem and goofing off. Xbox360
I think there will be more than 16 FBG's playing this online on Xbox. We'll have plenty of time to sort things out when it gets up and running. I'm in for whatever group Spanky joins.

Sounds good man, I've added you to the list. Whenever you get a chance just sign-up for a Rockstar Games Social Club account so I can formally invite you to the crew (http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/signup).

Here's the updated crew list so far -- I've included the gamertag/social club account name of everyone who's provided me there's in parentheses next to their FBG name. So if you don't see yours, I need that info to be able to shoot you the formal invite to join the crew.

Also, anyone who's name is bolded has officially joined up and is now a member.

Updated list:

Did you get it yet? It'll be a blast, heavy breathing and all. I'll keep the grunting and yelling at my kids to a minimum. :dadoftheyear:

socialclub tag HercRaato
icon901 is my socialclub tag. haven't linked it yet.

Do I have to have XBOXLive Gold or will just regular Xbox Live work? I'm not big on dropping $50/yr to play this game online.

I'm pretty sure you'll need Gold, but you can also just purchase a one-month Gold subscription for like... $9 bucks or something. You don't have to sign-up for the whole year.

Also, just sent you the crew invite over on the Social Club. Welcome aboard!

Just did some money farming with the $25k just north of the Santa Monica Pier (or whatever its equivalent in the game is). It works!

BTW, PS3 user here, which is making me feel kinda ronry. :kicksrock:
Also PS3 user here.

Tried to do some money farming tonight but the 12k up north by the plane tail is tough for me to get. It's so deep and I suck at swimming. Can't see it half the time either.
If you have multiple characters active, just swim until their breath runs out. Switch to the other character and back and your breath (and health too) will be at max again, and the items will be respawned. So depth underwater shouldn't be an issue.

With just one character, would take too long to farm. Would probably have to save and reload I'm guessing to get it to respawn. Not to mention the breath issue. I'm at the point in the game where you just have Trevor, and there's a money case elsewhere I found but I can't swim down to get it without dying.

Not sure if this was posted yet. $25,000 briefcase, looks like it's in shallower water than the one by the plane wreck, and the video shows how to keep switching characters so you rack up the money over and over quickly.
That's exactly what I was doing last night. And the good thing is you can keep going back with the different characters.
Put one character at that, and the other at the $12k one. And then just switch between them again and again.

Couldn't you theoretically put them both on the 25k briefcase? Then just flip back and forth all day?

No. Apparently this has been tried. From what I could understand, one of them will eventually die because their breath isn't regenerated. That's what I've read, anyway.

Pretty much the most comprehensive breakdown of GTA Online courtesy of CVG. They got to watch a live, exclusive 50-minute demo at Rockstar North HQ (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/424264/gta-online-first-look-rockstars-persistent-online-world-is-its-most-ambitious-project-in-years/)

Good news: GTA Online looks like GTAV. No compromise. As we waited for the action to begin, the streets of Vinewood were buzzing with traffic and neon just like the trailers. Suddenly, a Rockstar developer sat next to us starts chatting into his headset and his on-screen character does the same, lip-synching broadly in time.
:excited:

Nah, it just kicks you to another spot if you try with two guys in the same place.... in fact, I'm kinda skeptical it'll work for me between two guys at all... most of the time when I switch to a different player it gives me a lil intro instead of them just popping back up where they were (Franklin at the dispensery, Trevor waking up naked and drunk somewhere... or in his trailor smoking meth and Michael flicking a cigar butt at some park somewhere)

Yesterday when I flipped to Trevor, he was yelling at someone, wearing a woman's nightgown. :lmao:

When you switch quick, I haven't had the cutscene.

I'm down with tha' set if you got room. 360. Gamer tag:Rail39.

I love general mayhem. I like green to properly represent the Grove.

If you buy the sonar recovery place by Paleto Bay after the Merriweather job, you get a mini sub and dinghy. If you jump out of either, you'll have a scuba tank. Which makes treasure recovery easier, as well as the ability to salvage nuke waste. You could probably recoup the 250 K pretty quick.

Just beat the game. Won't say anything -- not even in spoiler tags -- other than... boy did that hit me right in the feels.

For those that were wondering, though, there are multiple endings. That's all I'll say.

I can confirm that is the case. If the characters are too close it won't reset their breath or health. Franklin got a trip to Palleto Bay ER thanks to that. I had Michael nearby and was driving a boat out to pick him up. When Michael got close, Franklin's breath stopped refreshing and he died on me.

I you get a cutscene the first time you switch to a character who you haven't used in some in game time increment. After the first switch you can go back and forth without further cutscenes.

And it definitely will kill the underwater character if they are too close.
