Don't be an antithesis.One thing that pisses me off is when they say to invest in a certain stock and it's only on the stock exchange that is hooked up online. That's stupid. Punishing me for not having my XBox hooked up to the Internet?

I had some guy keep accepting my job invites last night and we ended up becoming GTA BFFs... we were flying around knocking off liquor stores and splitting the profits. Fun stuff.

Way to quickly max out Michael's special skill.
Go up to the cow corral east of Trevor's airport that he flies the weapon shipments out of. Get in the middle of a bunch of cows, activate skill and gun them all down. When your meter is empty, just head shot more cows to refill your meter, and repeat. The cows will keep spawning.
You can also improve strength there but it would take forever. 4 punches to kill a cow, so 5 cows (20 punches) to increase 1%, and 100 cows to increase one full bar. Easier to play tennis with Michael and Trevor, but the game won't let Franklin play.
I also tried stealth killing the cows to see if I could up stealth, but no luck.

Crevis bottomed out last night and is starting to climb today. Currently trading at $414 from a high of $577.

Edit 2: I keep forgetting that Xbox and PS3 stock markets are different. Not really sure why they do it that way, you'd think they could combine everything easily enough in their servers. In any event, my comments below are about PS3 prices.
I don't think there's been any reason to invest in anything other than Piswasser and HAL to date. If the prices are driven mainly by the community, then simple game theory (and common sense) say to invest in the cheapest stocks. Those two, and PIS especially of late, are returning about 10% overnight.
Which to me highlights one of the problems with doing their stock market like this. Unless the stocks are going to be driven by other events similar to the real life market driven by earnings, etc... then really there is only going to be action on the few cheapest stocks. And if it is driven by other things, unless there is some measure of sense or predictability to it then it isn't serving much purpose in the game. Maybe if they had news reports relating to the actual community spending or something, profit reports for companies and the like? But people expected Ammunation to continue to increase because people will continually be spending there. But it seems like it's mainly dropped since before online started.
HAL was cheapest, climbed past PIS which then began to outgain HAL. It's continued to outpace HAL even after it caught back up... not quite sure why it's continued to outgain HAL. Might just be the juveniles going, "I'm going to buy the beer stock because beer is cool!" Though I'm expecting WIZ to become investment worthy soon. By the way, does anyone know of a site that is tracking the stocks? I saw one from Reddit that lets you check the price from a web page, but it doesn't track the price over time.

POSSIBLE BUG AT $2.1 BILLION CAN LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY
So apparently the developers store your money in an integer that has a maximum of 1 less than 2^31 = $2,147,483,647. If the variable is increased past this, it will result in a negative number. People have hit this already.
I see posts around the web of people asking if it has been fixed in any of the updates yet, but haven't seen anything that anyone can confirm it is fixed. So until we know otherwise, I'd not go overboard on your earnings without making sure you have a lot of saved games on hand.

You need to level up some to get access to some of the missions, or at least play with someone that's leveled up a bit. From what I gather Lvl15 is a fairly large trip point and then 45 is the next big trip point.
Not sure what level you have to be to hit that.

I did the runner/hunter online thing last night.. so much fun. I just had a small party of four, so two guys would start in jets and the other two would take off on motorcycles.. The guys in the jet had to hunt down and destroy the motorcycle guys before they could reach the other end of the map. So much fun.
We need to get a big FBG match going with that gameplay...

I haven't gotten the BAWSAQ to open up for me all all, ever. I've been able to play online fine, but I can never get the market to work no matter how many times I check/try... frustrating as I have a good amount to invest right now on the online side.

Don't forget to not only invest in the rival of the company you're hurting with the assassination, but then to invest in the company you hurt once it bottoms out.
On the Redwood assassination, I got an 80% boost in my money by investing in Debonaire. But then also investing in Redwood once it bottomed out at 19, I made 300% profit which quadrupled my money when it climbed again. Combine the two and my money went up by 7.2x as a result of that one mission. It's investing in the latter one that really gives you the boost, assuming it drops to something pretty low.
Oh, and some other stuff on that. Do NOT load a save if you miss the stocks peaking by just a little bit. Apparently the first stock that climbs does so about 80%, but if you load a save it only climbs to 50%. Even if it climbed to 80% and starts dropping and you load a save made at it's peak, it will be 50% when the reload is done.
Also, when I was waiting for Redwood to rebound, I kept checking as Franklin and it wasn't showing any movement. I slept-saved to advance time, went and did things around town, wasn't going back up. Finally I switched to Michael and checked and it immediately jumped up to the 300% profit. I mean it immediately went from $19 on Franklin to $79 on Michael a few seconds later. Switched back to Franklin and it showed there as well. So for some reason his portfolio wasn't updating, I had to switch characters before the assassinated company's stock climbed again.

I'd recommend finishing the story real quick if you're close and then go back if you want.... but it's really all time you should be spending lvling up your online character.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this reddit post someone made.
If you haven't played GTA 5 online yet, that's fine, this probably still will make sense to you.
GTA 5 online is fantastic, despite being a user interface disaster. The most interesting part is the "freeroam" mode. There are plenty of non-violent ways to interact with other players in GTA 5 online freeroam, but generally the only thing everyone does is kill each other immediately on sight. You get some small amount of money for killing another player, but not enough to explain the rampant violence. People just do it because they're mostly animals. Mostly insane. Mostly Trevors.
So last night, I'm playing online and I've found a place to get helicopters pretty easy I wanted to see if someone would get in the helicopter with me so I take it and land it in front of someone. Unsurprisingly, I'm shot and killed and they take my helicopter. It's no big deal though since I can get a new helicopter pretty quick, so I do this again a few more times to the same end - acquire a helicopter, land, get shot, get helicopter stolen, repeat. After about 6 or 7 times of this happening, someone finally decides not to shoot and rob me. Instead, very timidly and cautiously, they approach the helicopter and get in with me. I take off.
I like to think of myself as more like Michael. More of the sentimental type. So I take my new friend/guest/hostage around the map with me to all the cool places I've found. I show them how to rob liquor stores super easy and escape from the cops in my helicopter. I take him to the top of a mountain, to some construction sites, to the wind turbine farm, to the amusement park, we go all over and he genuinely seems to enjoy the experiences. At each stop, he gets out and politely looks around, as if in appreciation, and then gets back in the chopper with me. No words are exchanged at all since neither of us has a microphone, but nothing needs to be said.
After about 15 minutes of this going on, I take him to the top of the tallest building in the game. He goes to the edge and looks over the city. It's sunset, and it's beautiful. He's enjoying the view. It's serene. Before I know it, I have my pistol out and pointed at the back of his head. I ask myself "am I really different than all the other animals playing online here?" And as his limp body tumbled off the roof, I chuckled to myself and thought, "no, no I'm not any different."
I wonder about what the other player must have thought as he saw his character betrayed on top of that building. I like to think it was a learning experience for both of us. I learned that really, we're all Trevors."

There is a shockingly low amount of GTAonline FAQ type information out there. There are reams and reams of single player info.
I'm nervous to go into a DM with a bunch of guns and gear for fear of losing them when I quit out. Also nervous to go in with a bunch of cash. Is this still a risk?
I still don't get the lobby system. Are SMG only for level ??? and higher?
