Dude we teamed up with on the last job was nice enough to knock us all down with a car first.
Yea, damn.... I got a call and had to run during that job or else I would've been a little more meticulous at the base. That would've been a pretty nice score.

Best strategy might be to hop in the fighter jets and then parachute out to trash them... IDK, first time I've seen that one.

Maxing Franklin's special skill was very easy... just driving at high speed, use it until it's out, then recharge it skimming between cars and repeat.

Trevor's has been a little more difficult. Best way I found was to go down to the beach. Go to the area weight lifters are doing pull ups and pushups and such, and get as many of them into a fight as you can. 3 at once is best, then turn it on and go all out. I'm not sure if doing damage or taking damage is what increases it. But fighting 3 people at once makes it go up a lot more than fighting 3 people one at a time.

To recharge, just run around the boardwalk running over people and his meter will fill up quick. When you get a wanted star, head for that cement lifeguard tower and hide on the back side, cops never have looked there.

If you run over someone standing by a fire on the beach, and knock them into the fire, they burn to death.

Do we automatically have parachutes with that mission?

I keep getting left behind at the airfield... but it sounds like TRE is living up to the Smash moniker... All is see is FAIL followed by a LOL

good stuff

gotta hold select and go to your inventory... first option there=cash.

Don't sweat it though... just helpin you build a bit of a stack

I'm up to level 7 now and got my first uzi. Thank god because I was getting smoked in deathmatches. I gave up and did repo missions for awhile.

In one deathmatch, I snuck up behind a guy, took him off guard, and onloaded 4 quick pistol shots into him. I might have been spitting on the guy. He recovered, whipped out his uzi, and ended me. <_<

Trying to save up for a garage. I'm rolling with a Buffalo, which has crap acceleration but great traction and decent top speed. Not sure if I'll mod it up to improve the acceleration or just steal me a new car.

I saw some guy rolling with a monster truck last night. He cruised by while I crouched behind a dumpster in an alley, took aim, and shot him in the head 3 times from a distance. Had to be my best shooting ever, Tex. Let this be a lesson to you: no matter your level or bankroll, some crafty noob with a pee shooter can take your @$$ out.

Bones> what's the easiest way to make some paper? Robbing stores? Repo missions are only getting me $1000. Though I did steal an uzi from one.

Also, what's the name of that mission where you hunt motorcycles with jets?

I've wasted probably 2 hours now trying to get a crew of randoms together to do that "Chase two cars" mission online. The AI is uber and the randoms are too dumb to figure out:

-No, you can't shoot at the car while driving

-You can't respawn

-Wanted level makes it impossible to takeover

You have to pin the car and THEN shoot the driver

If you fail you get no xp and no $$$. Maddening.

easy money farming is just taking mid level cars to pay and sprays. The most expensive car you can take in looks like a Eclass mercedes. Start any session taking those in. You can farm maybe 15-20k a day before they won't take any more cars.

Okay, I'm in

What do I need to know?......seems a bit slow moving
If you pause it to talk to your kid, you still can have some random loser come up and bash your head in.

It's fun. It will be more fun when we're in groups and can talk to each other. When you hook up with random piles of dorks, you all just sort of run around like chickens with your heads cut off.

It was pretty awesome of bonesman to come pick me up in a chopper and fly me from store to store so I could rob them yesterday.

There's a mission called Violent Ducts... it's right by the strip club and is a job for Gerald. It's relatively easy and you get 9k per completion.

Once you get it, you do it over and over by liking after you complete it (triangle) and then hitting R2 to restart.

We need to get a sesh were some of us FFAM guys work that for an hour or so... should get about 200k in that time

Agreed with the bolded, I bought a headset after the first day... hopefully might arrive today

couple of tips on knocking up the liquor stores: Get a mask and put it on (you can hit them more frequently and you lose a wanted star when you take it off)..... Try not to shoot the guy, especially if he doesn't draw on you... 2 stars is an easy escape, 3 and they bring the chopper which can be a little trickier. And lastly, don't turn your back on the clerk, back out pointing your piece at him and turn when you hit the door.

Was chatting with a friend via text messaging over Live the other day and I had someone put a hit out on me. I sent the message and this dude runs up on me trying to kill me. Spun my car around so I could get a clean shot and mowed him down. A couple more came after me soon after, and I took them out. Very lucky. But I learned not to send text messages while in game. That'll get you killed.

Is there a list somewhere where you can see if any crew members ate on?

Pushing down shows you the people online with you, but not any crew members playing GTA online.

I think you can through the start menu. After you do a mission with them you have them in your cell phone too I think.

You should ask bonesman because he randomly rolled up on me with a choppa and scared the pee out of me.

I took some vehicle into the custom shop, sold it for 3K only. Tried stealing another car, this time an SUV and sell it to the same custom shop and they said no more cars for now. Its only once per session I can sell them crap?

It varies. There are four of them.

Bstanfordb is bones, right?
Yup.... you RayCharles then?

I've got a Violent Duct queued up in my job list right now... let's get paid.
Yep.

Thanks for the 10K paying job. Even if all I did was shoot a couple Merriweather stooges and drive in circles around the airport.
Yea, that was a fun one... I tried to wait and let one of you guys hop in that huge military plane with me but noone made a move so I hightailed it.

Apparently the most recent update changed the Violent Duct job and some other ones to less paying. Like 50%+ less. Kinda wack.

It looks like they also changed the R2 restart which was really the key to quickly building a roll when you found a good paying job.

Completed the big heist.

Went the "obvious" route and picked Packie and Chef as gunmen and Martinez (the chick from the burning car) and some derp as drivers (derp operates the train). All went smoothly and the Big 3 each netted $34.27 mil.

Also saved two assassination missions. Won't be enough to get me the golf course for any one of them, but it should get me pretty much everything else.

Bones> I don;t know what happened on that survival job. The three of you jumped in and I was stuck watching a fuzzy video camera version until you all died.

Then I was booted and called a bad sport. <_<

ah... I was wondering why you took off. Must've lost connect for a sec. What sucks is I didn't even get killed in that last round and it ended... so it was all buggy.

Bout to do the Titan one again.

Stayed up late doing races and missions online trying to save up money for a garage.. then accidentally dropped 30k on a stupid Pegasus rental van service. Kinda drunk. :lmao:

I guess if we ever get an online game going with the FBG crew I have a way to transport all of us at once. :bag:

Almost through the story. I've decided to avoid online until I complete the main story. Did the fire truck FIB mission last night. I'm loving every single heist, hope they are as cool online.

I did that exact mission last night too. Personally, I didn't care for the 9/11 undertones. I know it's just a video game, but still. That's my only complaint so far.

That's 30k for a one time group taxi ride?

Oooooof.

Got to play the tank mission and the F15 mission. Both were epic.

F15 mission is pretty hard to do as the plane. Harder than you would think.

Played with Uni some last night. One exchange was like this:

C-Hey lets go rob this store

U-What? What's that?

C-Rob this store over here see? :LandsHelicopter:

U-Hang on i need some ammo at the ammunation

C-Ok lets go.

U-:Storms in and kills everyone in the store:

C-

U-Wait, what that wasn't what we were supposed to do?

If the stock market for single player is tied to online and what people are doing in their own games, am I going to be at a huge weird disadvantage if I don't play this game for a few more months?

It's not. There a few stocks that trade on both exchanges but online and offline aren't tied together. They are still fixing the online stock market anyways. It is still closed even after the title update last night.

Are you talking about on Xbox it being closed?

On PS3 I had one day where it wouldn't update prices for 8 hours or so. Other than that, sometimes it won't update for a bit, but it's always updated prices within an hour or so, or if I quit and relaunch a few times. I haven't seen it outright closed, other than perhaps that single day. Though that was right about when online launched so I figured it was server overload.

For Leeroy... there are two markets, one unaffected by other players, and one that is. You should always be able to make money off the first market just by getting familiar with the general max and min for stocks.

The online, I'm not convinced anything matters in it beyond number of shares bought and sold. You might miss out on some golden opportunity like early on where there was a $1 stock so everyone invested in it. But there should be some other cheapest stock that will still draw most of the interest.

Speaking of which, didn't get to play yesterday, but logged in to check my stocks and cash out and make a save point. HAL was outgaining PIS again finally. PIS has passed WIZ, and I expect at some point WIZ will start climbing as well. It hadn't happened as of checking last night though, WIZ was still dropping.

Each time I get my stocks, I put at least one share in all three so I can check the progress since my last stock cash in/save point. It's not clear what number they are comparing to for percent growth otherwise when you just look at the market. This way I can check my portfolio and the percent change is based on a specific moment in time - when I bought the stock.

After you left to go eat I used your helicopter to just follow a guy around the map for like 15 minutes. I was picturing him looking around all paranoid like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.

Also I think the 30k I dropped wasn't just a one time thing. It put a new number in my phone for the rental van. Costs 1k to give them a call and rent a huge airport style van. No clue what use that would ever be.
