I was just coming to post this. Titan's been nerfed to 5k.

Just as well. Survival is more fun and 1 lap races are faster.

I strongly disagree with that. I like when the driving and shooting are integrated I guess.

Here is how I've spent my time from the R* website:

Jobs- 94.27% (1.9m)

Shared- 1.38% (28k)

Betting- .56% (11k)

Car Sales- 2.24% (45k)

Picked Up- .81% (16k)

Other- .74% (15k)

Total Earned: 2,202,765

Total Spent: 1,058,262

So I'm gonna miss that job $$$

 
How do you guys get into races? Every time I select one in "Fast Jobs" or whatever the put-me-in-something button on the phone is, I end up all alone as host and have to wait forever for anybody to join. Is there a way that you can join a lobby that's already populated without an invite?

I spent a lot of time last night just randomly driving around because I couldn't get into anything.

You are going to need to level up a bit to enable quick jobs.

 
Whoever in the PS3 crew was inviting me to races last night, sorry I missed you. Every time I would try to join it would tell me the session was not available or something like that. Then I tried inviting you to my missions but got no response. Not sure what was up.

 
Races have gotten pretty annoying.

Start

Bumper cars for 30s

Whomever is out in front of the bumper cars wins

They need some sort of spawn protection on the start line.

One of the main reasons I'm not a fan of the racing is all the dirty drivers... so frustrating

Hey bucko, next time I send you invite, accept it and you'll make some dough. I'm starting to think I got bad breath or something.

Seriously: outside those survival jobs I played, I've made the most money by accepting invites from Bonesman.

Might be me. I always invite crew people before starting as a matter of principle. I guess because Bonesman did it for me and I made lots of $$ that way.

 
I just bought an apartment.

It's pretty cool watching Weasel News coverage of the police chasing players in the game.

I'm sure it'll get old quick, but right now I'm :popcorn:

 
I don't see any places to buy a garage/apartment on the map screen. Can someone give me the lowdown on the best places to buy. Right now I have around $70,000

 
You buy properties from your phone though you have to have a certain level and completed some mission along the way somewhere to activate it.

Use the website, they only show up on the map when you're really close to them.

I bought a garage for around $25k. It'll do until I get the cash for a bigger, better crib.

 
Kept trying to join missions and would get an "incompatible assets" error. How hard is it to say "there is a game update available"?

 
I'm doing something wrong apparently. How do you save your online guy? I've created a person twice now, did the initial jobs, then logged back in and had to start over again.

Right now the most recent patch from this morning messed the game back up to where many people can't save their progress for anything. It's complete mayhem out there because many people don't want to do missions.

I had internet issues last night. My connection was sluggish and even though I accepted an invite from Red 69 (Ignoramus?) it kept kicking me out, saying I was "incompatible" or something.

 
I just now started playing online - wanted to beat the game first and let online issues work themselves out. Unfortunately I lost 25k and a few levels of progress from playing yesterday. I'm not sure if they'll fix anything anytime soon - I get that it's a big undertaking, but the single player is such a tight experience, it's odd how troublesome the online portion can be.

I didn't touch online until after I beat the main game, so I never encountered the connection errors that people were bumping when the online part launched. That part has been fine. Unfortunately, everything else about this game sucks. I can't join a full or semi-full lobby to save my life. Every single time I try to quick-join a race, DM, or mission, I end up alone. Every. Single. Time. Then when I try to invite the broadest assortment of randoms just to get things going, the matchmaking keeps trying to invite the same half dozen people and I never get more than two or three. I'm at level 11, and I have yet to do a single race with more than four players. Not one. Every time I try to join a session with crew members, I get an error message telling me that it can't find a suitable session. And now I'm getting a message telling me that my game can't save.

According to GameFaqs and NeoGAF, these are all widespread problems across both consoles, but the saving issue in particular seems to affect only some people at a time. It was saving fine for me last night and earlier this morning, but then just stopped.

I might kill some time cleaning up some of the SP side missions and wait around to see if they can get this fixed, but I've found GTA online to be hugely disappointing so far.

I've gotten the can't save to the cloud messages but then it always pops up with another "game saved" message a few seconds later :shrug:

Banked about a quarter mill last night so hopefully it's still there.

The part with the races is probably just because noone like your or something... but consider yourself lucky as you probably wouldn't find the racing experience too gratifying. It consists of people trying to knock you off the course and then calling you a dirty racer. The French MFers are the worst.
