:lmao:

I spent nearly two hours last night with a couple of random guys halfheartedly attempting a difficult mission. It resulted in no money or experience points, and I probably spent 5k just replenishing ammo, but it was some of the most fun I've had so far.

The later stage missions + playing with teammates who communicate really makes the online stuff worth it IMO. Those judging the online aspect of the game solely on the cluster#### of freeplay are being shortsighted.

We need to get a crew together and do the Titan mission You can run that one with 6 people. I think you need all 6. At least 3 need to be semi-competent at landing a plane. A bigass plane.

I'll probably be on tonight

Jacked a fighter. Way easier than i thought it would be.
I keep getting shot down when I jack a fighter. Pretty easy to get there and get the jet airborne, but I get shot down by missiles almost immediately.

As soon as you are airborne pull your wheels up and go vertical. 50% of the time it works every time.

I finally got a fighter jet on Saturday after about 8 attempts. Just before that I got one almost to the airport but it had a blown engine and I crashed into the ocean just before I made it to the runway. Only difference in my successful attempt is that I ran over one of the soldiers on my way to the hangar. Seemed like that tipped the balance in my favor because it was the only time a tank wasn't there waiting for me. There were a few attempts where a tank blew up my car before I even made it into the hangar.

I had all sorts of issues on Friday. Wanted to join up, but couldn't. Locked up entirely.

I am too low level to join, too.

No you aren't. You can join a titan mission hosted by a + level player in your friends list. If you can locate me in freeroam I'll drop you some weapons and crap before hitting the mission screen.

This sounds fun.

Probably won't be able to sign on until after 10 tonight, which I know is late for you. Should be free later this week though.

Car? Just pretend Trevor's helicopter is a stone skipping across the macadam until it stops in front of the hanger. Get out. Run your @## off. Steal the jet.

Heck no... you can do Titan of a Job solo. Pretty easy level actually.

Guess I'm on the fck GTA online bandwagon now too. Looks like I lost my character that had just reached lvl 57. Thankfully all the money I made is still there and usable by the character in my 2nd slot, but the guy is gone and it sends me to the pick your parents screen when I try to click on him. Had hope it might get restored since on the socialclub site it had all my data... but I made a guy in the second slot last night to **** around with and now the social club is showing that info instead. Not cool.

FTR I'm not that good at this game with the exception of flying helis. Plus I hate just sitting back with the sniper and picking people off one by one, moving around a bit, repeat till clear. If that's how I have to move through online then I'll just finish SP and be done with it.

I think I'm at the point in the story where I'm about to start the last mission. Without spoiling anything, can someone let me know whether I'll have access to all of my characters afterward to do side missions and random events, or do you all recommend I do those first? I realize that answering that may be a spoiler in itself. If so, just recommend I do the sides first.

Depends on what you do after the heist. It doesn't end at the heist, you have one more and you have to decide which direction to go.

What's the difference between doing on-line and just replaying things or free roam of the actual game? Explain it to me like I've never done any online or coop stuff before ever.

So, doing all the side missions still. Franklin's are rather dull in the sense that I am doing them and having fun, but they don't rise to the level of humor that the main story line did.

Trevor's on the other hand is gold. All of them.

Still enjoying this immensly but I do have a question for the guys that have a billion dollars................. how? Did you just do all the assassinations after the story or did I miss something? Even when I was playing the market for a few days without doing anything else I was only making like tens of thousands tops, not 6 or 7 figures. I'm stumped on this.

Zipped in to Trevor last night holding a member of The Lost over an overpass and saying something about thermodynamics. Then he dropped him. Hey, cool Lost van!

Yeah. I'm done the story line and have a bunch of side missions to do still. How do you make money once the story is over?

Getting a little bored with online play these days. Was hoping they would roll out big heists missions soon enough but as of now its just a hodgepodge of pick your game mode that I am bored of. Recently I have found myself just roaming around stealing helicopters and then placing them in the middle of the road with a sticky bomb on them until another player tries to steal it. I let it fly for a few seconds and BOOM.

Really starting to enjoy rap music.
90% of the time, I'm listening to West Coast Classics.

Speaking of the GTA radio, is it just me, or is the talk station kinda ####ty now? I used to LOVE it in past GTAs, but this year, it didn't really grab me.
I'm with you on both.

And I never liked hip hop much, but the old West Coast Classics is great. It's either that or Channel X & Keith Richards.

Talk radio is kind meh. It was one of the best things in the PS2 gen games (III, Vice City, and San Andreas).

Not a fan of everything on Channel X, but they really nailed a lot of the LA bands of consequence. And OFF! is pretty bad ###.

I will say that Blaine County Radio is pretty awesome, and a lot of it is because Danny McBride (aka Kenny Powers) is one of the hosts. :lmao:

I love the commercials on the radio, especially the one for the 50 Shades of Grey knockoff where the lady said the book makes her throb like a steam train down there. :lmao:

Holy crap did I really write Keith Richards there? What the hell was I thinking?

:wall:

Keith MORRIS.

ETA: nothing gets me pumped up more during a Trevor rage than Rollins screaming My War.

Stock market.

The assassination missions are an opportunity for huge money. I haven't even done most of them, but I increased my money by 7x on one of them. Buy the stock he says before the kill. Don't reload any saves until you've sold off at about 80% increase... if you reload a save it will max out at 50% even if it was above that when you made your save. Then put everything back into the stock that you killed off and wait for it climb back up.

Beyond that, it's still the stock market where I made most of my cash. LifeInvader is so cheap that even small fluctuations in price can bring you a big gain. I've turned 25% profit with LifeInvader by buying, doing a mission or two, and selling. Any time I logged out then I put most all my money in Pisswasser, and Hawk and Little since BAWSAQ will keep increasing while I'm offline. They were going up like 10% per day. I haven't been doing the stock market in a long time now though as I started getting close to hitting the max money bug.

For seed money, the hidden packages are very helpful. There's a blue dot mission driving a guy to the airport that gives you a stock tip that will give you 50% gain. Trevor hitting all 3 blue dot missions that let him take people to the cult gives you a nice bit of cash after the third one, I didn't keep track but it was probably $125k maybe? Returning a guy's stolen bike somewhere in the southeast part of town will net you a bunch of shares of free stock that I think I cashed in for $100k. Also the submarine/nuclear waste missions are decent money. Trevor's arms running in the airplane are generally pretty quick, I imagine they are probably one of the better repeatable money making missions.

I would say don't buy any properties early on. Maybe get Smoke on the Water and the submarine dock, but I'd leave the rest until I had a lot of money. It takes some of the properties 100 in game weeks just to break even. Far better to have that money available for the stock market.

Is that really him? I thought they didn't use any celebs. I figured it was just someone who sounded like him.

Another one that sounds like someone is the one host who is "hooooommmmm, whoooooooom" ing all the time. Sounds just like the guy who played Leon Black on Curb Your Enthusiasm, blanking on his name right now.

ETA: JB Smoov

I just checked and both he and McBride are credited. The radio stations are filled with old celebs, like Kenny Loggins and Pam Grier and several LA DJs. I also saw Fred Armison (from SNL) credited, but I didn't even remember his character from the game.

Whoever I was playing with last night, that Fort Zancudo job is awesome.

For those who weren't there, its a vehicle death match featuring fighter jets. Basically a big dog fight.

Something happened midway through the 2nd run of it and I got booted and just decided to log off for the night. But man, what a mission/job, best one I've seen yet.

Is Kenny Loggins the 80s station guy? Because I swear he sounds just like Charlie Sheen.

Bless your heart killed me the first time I heard it.

I enjoy Lazlo's show still.

McBride's show is great.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I think it was a big mistake changing Lazlo's character on the radio. He was the perfect straight guy in his first appearance on the radio station. I don't think they've ever replaced him adequately. Without a good straight man for contrast, the talk radio lost a lot of the subtle humor.

That's probably why I don't like the talk station much. Lazlo seems WAAAAAY too forced this go-around, whereas he was the perfect straight guy to play off the weirdos.

Of course, I pay way too much attention to the radio stations because I work in radio. :bag:

OK, the stunt jumps suck. Or maybe I suck for trying to do all 50.

The "landing zone" in previous GTA's were always pretty ambitious. You had to catch some "sick air" to get it, sometimes requiring a huge run-up and a sportbike.

Now, sometimes the landing zones are completely unambitious. The jump in West Vinewood off the driveway is a perfect example. You can almost make it to the golf course if you hit it right, but the landing zone is a block closer to the hill you're going off of.

Also, Franklin's special skill is very helpful for these.
