I'll preface this with, yes, this is slightly gay.

An iGB recently suggested that we could use a good thread on cool guys' jeans.

For guys on the market for a new pair of jeans, what are some cool jeans that folks are wearing these days?

A few potential designer jeans suggestions that were forwarded to me by my iGB:

I will say the following -- jeans are tough. They are hit-and-miss and, in my opinion, the most important part of the wardrobe. It's the easiest way to make the statement that you have some idea about what's going on without looking like you are trying too hard.

For the record, my current favorite pair of jeans are a pair from Ralph Lauren -- they are a lightish/worn color, baggy but not overly so -- I picked them up at Macy's last year, and they ran me about 60 bucks. A girl I recently hung out with swore they were really expensive designer jeans. She thought they looked awesome and were super expensive.

Bottom line? She noticed, and she liked that Otis was wearing cool looking jeans.

So, in the spirit of turning this thread around from mildly gay to "hey, if this is about impressing the wimmens, it's cool," whatcha got?

Deisel, AG, Paper Denim, Seven and Jetlag. I actually own nothing but designer denim. With Paper Denim you have to weed through some jeans to find the gems. Seven is getting a bit played out but I think the thicker denim works well in the winter. Jetlag makes some jeans but are pretty pricey. True Religion? I've never bought them. I don't dig the pockets and I had a women at a store that sold them tell me to never buy them because they fall apart easy. AG's are made by Adriano Goldshmeid the original denim designer for Diesel. They are also made in the USA. The ones that are "on" are money. I spend a lot of kibbee on my Jeans but it pays out in dividends. Call me gay, call me whatever you'd like. The bottom line is they feel awesome, look great, accentuate the package, and hot chicks notice them. I would never go back.

No, what makes them cool is NOT that celebs wear them. And the label does NOT matter.What matters is that they have the cool "fit" and cool "look." Period. And in my experience, the Gap and Old Navy and the like simply don't make cool jeans. Period.

Why not? it's all relative right? The average pair of jeans I buy I would say is $200. A lot for $160ish and some for as much as $240. I'm not gay. It's not gay. They feel comfortable, sturdy, fit nice, and broads like'em. Did I mention the package? I'm disappointed Otis.

Sho-nuff I know nothing about you or how you're built. Go out and try on a good fitting pair of designer jeans...you'll notice the difference. I didn't think I'd think that way necessarily but after grabbing a pair or 2 there was clearly no going back. For the record I've never noticed what kind of Jeans celebrities wear. I had a pair of old navy Jeans....they are garbage.I was going to start this thread a month ago...I was anticipating some heat.

Why would I care about any difference. I am very comfortable in my Old Navy Jeans. I wear them basically only on Fridays and some weekends in the winter. I have about 3 pair and they have all been very durable.So what is the point of trying out new jeans...will the comfort be worth 2-3 times the price. Not to me...as I am very comfortable in mine....unless I can get a ####### built in...not worth it.

I use to waer Ralph Lauren jeans, then tried on some other and find there is better out there. After wearing ernie's and chip and pepper. I realizied that the Ralph didn't fit as good.

BS.If you're in a dim-litted bar trying to pick up a girl, your jeans are one of the LAST things she'll notice. She'll notice what you say (your game), your smile, your face in general, your body, your OVERALL style, and she'll be focusing more on your shirt than your jeans. And plus, no one tucks in their shirt these days. That covers up that much more of your fancy jeans.

Shoot, I am really considering a pair of the True Religion jeans. I would kill if they fell apart after spending so much on them. Recently I've seen a few pairs of these walking around and they are good looking jeans. You don't like the pockets? I thought the pockets were pretty cool. I'm a neophyte in designer jeans though.For most of my young adult life I've never really gone out to a store to buy jeans. I do a lot of my clothing shopping online because it's easy and I generally wore the same style. Now that I think I might dabble a bit in fashion I might have to change this policy. Especially if I am going to spend that much money on jeans.
