**Official** Hell on Wheels (1 Viewer)

I have to wait for it a week later. I dl online and watch without commercials. I dunno yet.

Lead character seems a lot like Timothy Olyphant in Deadwood (which isn't a bad thing)

Like I said in my post last week.. hard to judge a show based on the 1st episode.

After 2 I can now say

Really enjoyed this week and can't wait for next week.

really enjoyed the escape, the plan to save himself and LOVED the little ;) to the Swede when the Swede found out he was now the Foreman.

really enjoyed the escape,
I guess I am not understanding "the escape".

There was a single loose nail that was preventing him from forcing the floorboards free?

He worked the entire night to get the nail out but could not? Why not use the metal from the cuffs/chains to loosen it, why did he need the magic spoon?

I agree that the 2nd episode was much better than the pilot. The Swede looks like he could prove to be a pretty good character. He's creepy enough.

Said the same thing to my family as we watched.. Here you have a nice metal Handcuff and yet you are trying to pry it up with your fingers  It wasn't so much "how" he escaped.. But the conversations leading up to the Escape with the Swede and Elam.

I like the "Swede", I like the blonde. I like the look and the way it is shot. I am hungry for a western but the rest is not grabbing me. I will give it a couple more episodes.

I liked it. Not as much as I was hoping, but compared to the rest of the crap on TV, it's good.

Got a little more interesting with the Indians Sunday night, but the writing in this show just seems so thin when you have shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad going on at the same time. Hell, I'd even say Sons of Anarchy is deeper than this show.

Maybe it's just me, I dunno. Guessing by the lack of interest in this thread, I'm guessing not.

:shrug:I REALLY enjoyed this last episode.. So much so that as we were watching it yesterday( we DVR it) when I went to fast forward through the commercials and saw it was the end I was very disappointed :kicksrock: .. My wife, daughter and I were all very intrigued and were looking forward to more.. Can't wait for next week

Yep, still watching. Nothing earth shattering but given the alternatives for late Sunday night viewing it will stay in the rotation.

Caught the first 4 episodes

1.01 decent enough

1.02 Great ep

1.03 a bit of a clunker with a couple of decent scenes IMO

I'm not buying Cullen msgically finding the girl, but that's only one issue I had with it
1.04 getting back on track - I'm hoping that this is building to something

overall I'm liking this show

The last episode (the prize fight) was terrible.

I thought the show was picking up a little from the so-so pilot but this last episode was almost laughable.

Watch it every week, not sure where they are going with it but I got nothing else in the 10 PM Sunday night slot so I'm good with it

I thought the first two episodes were pretty good. Third and fourth were pretty bad. Haven't watched last night's yet.

The first two and last night's are the only ones I have seen. I had to connect some dots a bit, but I was able to follow it. Plus it is fun to think that the reason the Indian killed the senator in such a gnarly way was the result of an indian leg wrestling match gone bad that I imagined happened in one of the episodes I missed.

Just watched yesterdays episode.. another very good episode!

My family and I are still enjoying it each and every week and can't wait for the next one.

I'm still watching it. Was dissapointed with the crappy production of the fight episode, but the last episode was better.

I like it. I'll keep watching because I keep expecting it to take off. The characters are taking a long time to develop, but you get the sense they'll turn out to be very compelling characters. Maybe it won't, but it's still as good as most shows on right now.

Thought last night was probably the best episode so far for those of us watching from day one. Someone new to the show would be lost but I thought it answered a lot of questions I had and moved the plot forward nicely.

Only 3 episodes in and still liking it. My wife is into it too, mostly because, unlike Deadwood, she can understand what everyone is saying.

Enjoyed this weeks episode.

LOVED him kicking the "Swedes" butt..

Then later having him say "I'm from Norway, I'm Norwegian" when the baron puts him in his place.

The line that had me laughing was "I Love today almost as much as I love Mondays when I give my Koochie a break" :lmao:

I have all the episodes DVR'd. For those that stuck around, is it worth it? I don't think I ready many positive reviews or heard any good word of mouth on it.

I'm only one episode behind and am really liking it. Solid story with good characters. Definitely worth watching, imo.

Yep agree, really liking it so far.

I just read it got renewed for a second season. I think I will give it a shot tonight after I see if West Virginia can score 100 on Clemson . thanks for the feedback.

This past episode was the best one yet. Two more episodes left, I think. I hope next season focuses on them trying to get through the Rockies.

Great ending. Totally avoided previews for next week. Don't want anything to ruin what happens.

Did the Indians cut that guys **** off and put it in his mouth?

edit: hey look...not censored.

I watched the first 3 episodes. It's good, but I have a hard time not thinking about Deadwood the entire time.

I still have some lingering comparisons even now but it doesn't take away from the show for me. Each episode seems to get better, I guess a result of the great character development.

Yeah,I haven't seen Deadwood in 5 years or so, but it seems kind of wild how similar the shows are. It's almost like the creators of Hell on Wheels were trying to recreate Deadwood. Ofcourse, I am only 3 episodes in so it may differentiate itself a lot more as time goes on.

I have a different opinion - I think it is getting worse while the story broadens to be able to sustain multiple seasons. I enjoyed the early shows which were more focused on the story of revenge - now the story has broadened and it's less interesting. Not interested in the church guy's story or the boss's story.

I don't get that feeling at all.

I would like to see more of the political side of the story. The Credit Mobilier scandal went all the way up to the presidency.
