**Official** Hell on Wheels (1 Viewer)

BTW, I assume that shot Bohannon made was essentially impossible with late 1800's guns, right?

Was rifling even invented yet?

Wasn't he basically firing a knuckleball from couple hundred yards away?

I don't really care though. It was a badass scene.

Thought the last episode with the killing of the doctor at the end was very good. WOW
Yeah, pretty intense episode/scene.It's funny, the Doc was on the screen a total of, what, 15 minutes, but he was already one of my favorite characters. Probably doesn't sound good for the show, but I really liked him.Can anyone explain how the the lady and Durant ended up in whatever the hell kind of relationship they are in?I don't remember the end of the 1st season so well. I remember she had the maps and she decided to be a business partner in finishing the railroad. What I don't remember is how she decided to start banging an old, wrinkly, pompous, curmudgeon.

:goodposting: IMO the best episode yet. You could have heard a Pin drop from 100 yards away in our house as no one said a word the last 5 minutes.. Wife was sitting behind us at the table and when it ended I heard her grab a kleenex and then say " I hate this show  "

I want to like this more and I should like it more (always been a big western fan), but for some reason I'm just not into it that much. I don't dislike it, but am just kind of "meh". I can't even put my finger on why it's not grabbing me.
This is where I am, but not sure why. This last episode had some pretty big moments, but I didn't feel much one way or the other.I think part of the problem is overuse of the background music to emphasize every single semi-dramatic moment.

Decent episode and the show was getting better, but I think I'm out.

Show's got some good characters, but they seem to ignore the good ones in favor of stupid storylines.

Especially the rapey Irish kid. It's so painfully obvious that they have no clue what to do with that guy. Just get rid of him already. And leave the brother for a little comic relief every once in a while. Better yet, get rid of him too. They don't know how to use him.

Way too much time wasted on those idiots.

So, they give us Lily. Who's instantly likeable, but you really don't know why. You never really know anything about her, but I want to. There's something there. They finally start taking her character in an interesting direction and then do that?

The dialogue was fitting, when Lily told Bohannon he's better with her. It was absolutely true. Bohannon's a decent character, but something's just not quite right. This show needed Lily because the lead's just not good enough.

So now, we're pretty much back where we started with Bohannon. Great.

Some shows can do away with a good character and keep on ticking. I don't think HOW can do it. Next season, to take Lily's place, I'm sure they'll fill it in with Irish Kids' Adventures Opening a Restaurant or something.

I gave it 2 seasons. I think that's enough.

There doesn't seem to be a real point or direction for this show After 2 seasons, we still don't really know why we should care about the characters or why they do what they do (even if they are usually well acted and somehow likeable).

:goodposting: One of the few shows the entire family enjoys watching.Really enjoyed the  value of the season finale.. Lily had become a favorite, but either the producers felt there was no chance of a renewal, or they decided to take a chance and shock the audience.. Hoping for the last one as I like it when shows are not predictable.. Makes you want to see what happens next.. Oh and raise your hand if you think the Swede is dead... ... I didn't think so.. ;)

I found Lily irritating and a bit whorey, and I thought it made sense to not saddle Bohannon with her in a new season. She was an easy kill. Now he can go back to being a drunken mess, albeit one that has to run a railroad.

Did the swede just decide to allow himself to be hung? He just walked on his own accord to the bridge?Weird?
Yeah, that scene was a little weird. Bohannon getting duped that bad generally doesn't fit with his character. I think a better scene would have had teh Swede going over the bridge and hanging, but maybe he cuts the rope with something to drop away.

Great synopsis, but I'll stick with it.

Starts next Saturday...marathon all day today.

Who is even left alive besides Bohannon and possibly the Swede?

Low expectations I guess. I enjoy the show and am looking forward to season 3. It's like Copper or Vikings, shows that are decent. Not great but not bad.

Great start to the new season. The new sheriff was a great character but it was pretty obvious what was going to happen.

Clearly the father did it. What a pos.

Loved that he didn't just become "alright" after losing Lily.. Having him alone, looking like a Mountain man and losing grip with reality was a great start.

I'm not sure how I feel about this show anymore. I still watch it, but I don't really look forward to it. I agree with whomever said to get rid of those Irish brothers. The show is at its best when both Bohannon and Common are on the screen together.

how is this season? have them all on the dvr
enjoyable and :loco: at the same time..

Might be just me but it seems they have two different Writing teams..

You'll get half an episode of  :excited: Can't wait to see where this goes

Then the other half is  what the bleep was that

I find a lot of the show to really be good, but it also seems like a lot of it goes nowhere. Almost all episodes have Bohannon out running tasks to fill time that really don't take the story anywhere. I'd also like to see them kill off the girl running the church.

Agree with this.

As much as I like Colm Meaney the whole back and forth with him and Bohannon gets old. "I'm going to run hell on wheels! No, I am! Are not!..."

I have to admit, I think this is the best season so far. Not sure if it has anything to do with Common not being on anymore. I never felt like he was dragging the show down, but now that he's gone, I kind of like the direction they're going. Looks like this season they are doing the normal AMC half a season, then a break, than the other half of the season. Don't remember if they did that before.

I think the carpetbaggers this season remind me of the Pinkertons from Deadwood. When this show first came out, I wanted it to be more like Deadwood, but it wasn't. It's starting to get that feeling. I hope this show can survive a couple more seasons.

We still watch and enjoy the show but I don't think it's the best one yet though. Hard to beat the preacher and the Swede together. They could have had their own sitcom. I liked Common and think his loss is noticeable. The carpetbaggers are good. Anybody going up against Durant makes the show better.

I didn't know it was a split season. Not a fan of that. This show always got better as the season went on and I think splitting it will take away from that.

I think the conflict between Common and Bohannan had played out. It was fun to watch at first, but I'm glad he's gone. I can't think of a season I've enjoyed even close to this one. The first was good, but this is the first season I'm actually excited to see the next episode.

So glad no more Common. His storylines just seemed to drag on.

Really enjoying this season.. It is difficult to take a hated person on a show and make him not as hated..

But they have made we actually start to like Durrant now thanks to the Governor and Durrant's handling of Eva's situation.

One thing I wish they would just finish with is the Elam story.. Either finish him off or find him.. Dragging it out way too long IMO.

He'll be back in 2 weeks.

Yeah I'm guessing he'll be back. Taken in by an Indian tribe or something.
