My point is that it is misleading to state Manziel is a below average talent. Many NFL GMs and talent evaluators do not believe that. You must be that fantasy owner who is offered Alan Robinson for Demarco Murray in week 4 and says 'No way, Murray was my first round pick!'Draft grades are based on a player's NFL ability.I thought the discussion was about how long he'd be in football. Who cares about how he played against college students.Yes, by NFL teams for the NFL draft.graded out? Do you mean coming out of college?Manziel graded out higher than McCown...and it wasn't close.
Let's not pretend that's an apples to apples comparison.
Who cares about draft grades?? They are guesses of what he'd do on the next level. They now KNOW how he does on the next level. You still high on Tim Couch and Heath Shuler?
Whether or not he'll realize his potential is a more honest question.
For the record, I think he'll be a viable QB someday. There's a decent chance he'll grow out of this party phase and realize his potential. Obviously far from a slam dunk, perhaps he'll never get out of it...it's obviously difficult to know with certainty.
If I'm the Cowboys I'd be buying low on Manziel big time.
Only question is whether he goes for The Lamar Odom or if he skimps and just gets The Charlie Sheen.
