Wow. Couldn't disagree more. I love BAD radio. You haven't listened much if you think all they do is talk hockey. And give me a break on Greggo. His sports points are unresearched and just flat out wrong most of the time, the only funny things that come from him are unintentional.
Honestly, I quit listening to Bad Radio years ago when they claimed the College Football is better without any kind of a playoff system. The sad part is, I think they actually believed that and weren't just trying to create drama. They actually think that there shouldn't be a playoff system. That's when I gave up and started listening to Rome and now Dan Patrick. Those guys have to have two of the lowest IQ's on the planet and are unlistenable.
To each his own I guess. Weird to attack their intelligence when you're championing Greggo, though.
He's got a point.
Not claiming Greggo is smart. Greggo is funny.Bob and Dan are neither.

Who's going to watch Gordon's show tonight?
:banned: I don't expect it to be good, though.
I expect to laugh a few times. Also, Radiant is on it and I'm curious to hear what they sound like.
It's at 10, right? It better be, or I'm going to be DVRing Married with ####### Children.
Yeah. 10. I've got it queued up to DVR that #### as well. It's a good time, though, 'cause I'll still be awake then. 11:00, not so much.

I won't even be out of class yet at 10. :(

That's ... uh, yeah, that sucks.

Missed the valentine cards for the first time in awhile.

I will say greggo is beginning to rally. He's sort of going into the yuk monkey mode part-time though instead of trying to dole out his worthless HSOs.

Greggo has sounded less slurry lately. Wonder what is/was up?

I will still watch next week. Radiant was not a very compelling interview.
Dammit. I completely forgot about it, and i don't think my DVR got it. Any highlights, or totally worthless?
He did some man-the-street interviews in Farmers Branch about the whole "make the illegals more illegal" thing they've got going on over there that were pretty funny. The interview with Radiant was awful, simply because they weren't very interesting. Gordon seemed a little awkward on camera at times; not very genuine. Hopefully, it will improve.

I guess they are having problems getting Norm hooked up this morning so they are running a U2 infocommercial while Gordo does his slightly exaggrerated fake Bono.

Could Georgie have more of a man chrush, oh wait there is Todd Dodge

I can't imagine this show costs $5 to produce. They'll keep it on for at least a little while.

The main problem is he doesn't have a foil that acts like they don't get him or feigns disgust that then Gordo plays off of.

Gordo by himself is not good. The thing about the rant that made that the single best thing in radio they ever put together was he played off of corby's shock level which was even higher so it made it even more over the top.

He's gonna struggle except in bits where he can play off of people like the farmers branch bit which was the only semi-funny thing on the whole night.

I wonder if they'll keep that 4 day weekend guy on as a regular? Those guys are a riot to see live.

Show was much improved. The monologue about TV had some good one liners.

Life Without the Little Ticket

So at the end of January I took a new job, leaving behind a company where I had all the Ticket and Internet I could want, but a crappy job with worse co-workers/management. I knew that my new job would not have Internet, but I also knew I would be in a dark lab most of the day by myself and figured that I could console myself with uninterrupted segment burning at 1310 Ticket Sports. I was wrong.

My lab gets zero AM reception, and so that along with my short commute, I now get 2.5 segments a day. The 6:50 segment, half of Muse in the News and the 5:10 Hardline segment. While I miss the station, esp Bob and Dan, my real problem is with FM radio. 7 weeks in and I'm completely bored with it.

Here are the stations I have been listening (with comments):

90.1 - NPR - makes me feel smart when I listen, can be interesting alot of the time, but they spend too much time kicking Bush in the balls, even for my liberal ####.

100.3 - JACK FM - nice collection of music, the lack of DJs is nice, but I have a strict No Nickelback rule and they violate it often.

102.1 - The Edge - the type of music I like most, when they finally get around to it. I will not listen to Lex and Terry, so they are out of rotation until after 10:00. While they also break the No Nickelback rule, they also force the When I Hear A Repeat Song I Hit The Dial response. It's amazing how we have over 20 years of "alternative rock" and yet we can't go 4 hours with out a repeat.

102.9 - The Mix - Pretty much JACK with DJs and a smaller playlist. Also a frequent violator of the No Nickelback rule.

105.3 - LIVE FM - "Alternative Talk". Love the Jagger Show, love Pugs and Kelly, refuse to listen to Russ Martin. This station could fill 7 hours of my day with Jagger and P&K, but the problem is that I do get visitors into my lab and I really don't need them walking in while the radio is talking about boob jobs on teens or in station booty calls.

106.1 - KISS FM - Won't listen to Kidd, will listen occasionally to hear what is "new with the kids", but I have to tune out after consecutive rap songs. Also a violator of the No Nickelback rule (Are these ####ers everywhere?)

All in all, FM radio in this town SUCKS!!!

So there. Not sure why I felt the need to share, but it feels good to get it out there.

The solution will be to go this weekend and get portable speakers for my iPod and make my own stations.

Yes. Yes it does.I thought for years that there must not be any good new music out there. Why else would the Edge still be playing so much early 90s grundge? When they did mix in the original new song it was some crappy Creed or Nickelback or somesuch. Thanks to some good threads here I found out there actually is good new music out there, just not on my radio. Dallas needs something like "Area 108" in Vegas.

There are just two stations on my radio KTCK and NPR now. Occasinally I'll listen to ESPN for game playbyplay, but that's it. The music in this town is an abortion and getting worse.

I have added a third. KTCU 88.7 is amazing if you can get it to come in (which I can about half the time at work). They mix classical, jazz, 50's through today, obscure college hits, everything, it does not get boring. I forgot how much fun college radio can be.

Anyone interested in a Mavs Wake/Cornhole the next few weeks. It's not like our nights are gonna have anything else but booze to drown our sorrows in anyways.

Did anyone get Lauren's phone number?
For some reason I kept getting Pizza Hut. Lines must have been crossed or something. :lmao:
I think you will get more from Pizza Hut than Lauren, so this isn't a bad thing. And cheaper, too.
