Does middays with Michael Irvin over at 103.3 excite anyone?

Michael Irvin will co-host a daily show on ESPN-FM (103.3) beginning Jan. 10.Irvin will work the 11 a.m.-to-2 p.m. time slot with Kevin Kiley, who most recently co-hosted a talk show on the ESPN affiliate in Los Angeles. The Irvin-Kiley radio show will be called The Playmakers, in deference to Irvin's Hall of Fame career as a wide receiver with the Cowboys.Contracts were finalized on Monday, said ESPN 103.3 program director Tom Lee."We are always looking to upgrade our station, and we believe this is a significant way to do that," Lee said.

Is the Hardline back today?
 Should be whatever "new" lineup they are going to run out there. Will be disappointed if it's still just Mike/Cobra/Deep Dish.
I doubt it. They've been saying this will take a significant period of time to pull off and any agreements would have hit the press a long time back.
Just put in Pete Stein and be done with it. Then Mike can give him the countdown every day.

I think Mike could give BAD radio a bit of a run. I would tune in to hear Mike and Deion BS, or Mike and Troy, Mike and Emmitt, etc.....You gotta think he is going to get the A-list NFL guys.

The Hardline is in "dry dock" for a week or two still. Ben & Skin are filling in now.

I can't imagine how painful it would be to listen to Irvin everyday. I'm in the minority with my friends that I enjoyed Irvin on ESPN, but I'm not quite sure it will translate to radio.

I think The Ticket should think about BaD radio in afternoon drive and Rhyner and his new little buddy can go to middays.

Excellent points. BaD Radio is the king of The Ticket right now and deserves the plum drivetime slot. I wouldn't mind seeing The Musers bumped up to 12-3 and let Rhyner and stiffs work out the kinks in the 5 - 10 am slot. Personally I don't think they'll change any slots but I can hope.As for Irvin I would rather listen to radio static than his incoherent ramblings about respect, the plight of the black athlete, and how great the Cowboys were. Get me the icepick, I've got a couple of eardrums I no longer need.As for Greggo my hunch tells me he's going to ESPN. They have done an amazing job of adding hosts such as Galloway, Irvin, and Hanson. Greggo would fit right in and complete the quartet. That would officially make ESPN the undisputed king of ego-centric blowhards that I would love to never hear again.

Who called me crazy when I suggested a similar scenario about a month ago

I gave Kiley a listen a few weeks ago when he was doing an hour or so in the mornings. He's really not bad from what little I've heard.

ESPN gave Engel the pink slip it looks like. Thankfully. I'm not sure how that show survived so long.

Looks like their new lineup is this:

5-9 Mike & Mikayla

9-11 Colin Blowhard

11-2 Kiley & Cokehead

2-6 Galloway

6-7 Hansen's Hour of Self-Importance and Ego-Stroking

Galloway is not going 2-6. They will have a national syndicate program or something else from 2-3 or 2-4.

What? Seriously?

I think The Ticket should think about BaD radio in afternoon drive and Rhyner and his new little buddy can go to middays. I just can't get on board with this. Maybe I'm stubborn or nostalgic, but BAD will never be better than the Hardline.

Doesn't Hansen have Channel 8 duty at 6?

He does his TV bit during one of the commercial breaks.

I pulled that schedule straight from espn1033.com :nerd:

Major announcement next Thursday @ 11:10 am

Probably not a hardline announcement since it is during Norm's show
Norm retiring? (please)
Never. He will die on the air.
Actually, after this whole Greggo debacle, I'm going to start being careful what I wish for. Losing Norm's drops would be disastrous.
Yeah, now that you mention that it makes me realize I miss the fake Alien Johnny Oates

I'm going to predict major lineup changes. Across the board. 11:10 would be the time where most of the on-air talent would be in the building, yet not on the air.

That would be interesting. When was the last major lineup change? I've only been listening for a couple of years, and I can't remember any changes at all other than ticker guys moving between shows.

I guess the last real lineup change would be Bob & Dan taking over for Chris (if that counts)Or if you want bigger, its when Coop left and the Hardline took over afternoon drvie which goes back 12 years??

Sounds about right. I have the "Curve It Around" CD from about 99 and it lists the lineup then, will have to check.I'm going to guess that the Musers are concreted into the morning slot, and probably Norm isn't going anywhere, but I could see the revamped Hardline going to middays, and a slightly changed BaD radio going drivetime. And I really think they need a 7-9 show to bridge into Dan Patrick. There is an audience for it. I would save the Top 10 for after DP.

The Roy announcement means another ### #### roy segment on every show. I'm so sick of hearing about that spare.

I'd be really surprised if this happened.

I guess I missed the Roy announcementWhat is this all about?
Going to probowl instead of the dirty dead Sean Taylor
Oh - heard that thought maybe it something to do with the ticket and II was all scaredFrom bobanddan.net forums the announcement wil be the new lineup ofmusers will be 5:30 to 9, norm 9-11, hardline is going back to 11-2 with bad taking over 2-6. 6-8 will be top ten and dan patrick after that. Then again someone else said Folowil is coming back in some formI cant imagine he would be giving up his dream job to work at the little ticket unless he is getting married again and she does not want him travelling

The only thing we need to fear is change itself, no wait that's not right

You mean Big **** Hunter's departure wasn't major.

I guess this is major for someone who primarily listens to afternoon drive, but not so much for me. Guess the issue is what the "new" hardline looks like.

whoaCutting off 1hr of musers is the worst part of all of this. Why shut down original programming at 6? That makes no sense at all. Peak drive time is at 5:30 and it's only getting pushed later.

2 random comments made during Bob & Dan today made me wonder

1) they wre discussing somethig that the end result was, bob said we should have our lawyers look at that, Dan replied I think our lawyers are little busy with other matters

2) They were talking ratings or something and he said that maybe they should hire a Cowboy as if it was an impending hire

I'd seriously probably stop listening regularly. At least in the evenings.
I thought you were a Bob and Dan apologist. Do you just mean because of the early cutoff?
Nah. I think Bob and Dan are okay, but the Hardline and Musers are what hooked me from the beginning. The change would be too much for me to handle. The Hardline isn't what it used to be, I suppose, but it's a familiar voice and it would totally screw me up if they weren't doing drive time.
