Feels like it.

AV has stapled Skjei's ### to the bench at the end of games for absolutely no reason. He's been at times our best defenseman in the playoffs, and at worst, 3rd best. When you do that, and your other options include guys like Staal, Girardi, and Holden, there really is no conceivable way to not have a trainwreck on the ice for a significant portion of these late game situations.
I completely agree that putting Staal or Girardi out there in 6 on 5 is a fire-able move when it continues to lose you games.  not that the bounce on Saturday was Staal's fault, but he gives you a near zero chance to clear the zone at any point since all he can do is ring or ice it.  to have him out there for over a minute before they even get to the 6 on 5 is ridiculous.  you're just asking to sweat it out in your zone.  Skjei being stapled to the bench is a crime.

Pretty amazing that these guys get paid millions to coach and strategize but they get stuck on certain guys that they trust and don't trust and sink with their own ship. Stubborn sum#####es.

Let's get this* over with

* the 2016-17 season; the era with the possibility of an Ovechkin title; my hockey fandom; any possibility of joy in my otherwise bleak and meaningless existence

Are you watching the game?   Caps are dominating.  They're finally showing why they were so heavily favored.

They will be hanging a Stanley Cup banner next October

book it
Television right here. Posting from phone. I don't doubt your sincerity. I just think it might be colored. So you reset in the second. You've got the best player in the world plus at least four Olympians. You're pretty good.

I know you americans probably dont get to see the canadian feed but if anyone wants a laugh just listen to Bob Cole's call of the second caps goal. Actually the fun starts about 20 seconds before the goal. He needs to go away.

That last 2-on-1 is part of what drives me crazy about today's NHL. Too much "pass first" ... even when the angle isn't there and taking the shot is the much higher percentage play.

Well I can't hear anyone on NBCSN.  Is it just my TV lol?

Way way way too much Caps love in here.  They're still only 50/50 to win this game.  Either today or Wednesday they'll break their fan's spirit.

So the Capitals are going to either lose this game like the Oilers lost the other night, or the Pens are gonna beat them 9-0 on Wednesday.  Which will it be?

I say neither.  I think the Pens get shutout tonight and game 7.  No schtick - the Caps have looked that dominant
