Nov 15 Oregon
Dec 1 at Arizona State

Tough opening few games but unfortunately we drew the two top teams in the Mountain West and BYU is probably the toughest place to play in all of college football.

Lets try and keep this thread updated and follow what I predict will be an amazing season for Mike Stoops, Willie Tuitama, and Heisman trophy frontrunner Nicholas Grigsby.

Also if you guys want UA ringtones? Hell yeah. Click here

Timber, Timber,
Everybody's calling for Timber,
Swing your ax
You Lumberjacks
Timber's got to go down the river today.
Timber, Timber,
Everybody's waiting on Timber
Swing your ax
You Lumberjacks
Timber's got to go down the river today.

Ax man fell that tree,
Cut out a ship for to sail the sea,
Cut out a cabin for me and mine,
Out of the whispering pine.

Timber, Timber,
Soon we'll have a cradle of timber,
Swing your ax
You Lumberjacks
Timber's got to go down the river today.

Help me keep this thread updated and GO LUMBERJACKS!!!

We have clearly outplayed Cal in this game but have no luck. Grigsby is really going off in this game also. Just off the charts good.

I smell a comeback. It's 38-17 Cal now but Zona has really dominated the entire game. The defense has been incredible and I'm surprised it's not a shutout at this point.

Tough loss today but you gotta admit we played really hard and just had some bad luck. Grigsby should be on everyone's Heisman radar, guy just blew up today. Tuitama? Are you kidding me? Over 60 attempts and almost 300 yards passing? Incredible. That guy is gonna lead us to the Seattle Bowl for sure.

Defense looked really stout too. I mean Cal is the second best team in the country behind USC without a doubt so shutting them down was nice.

Anyway next week Washington State comes into the Cougar pit for a battle of 2007 Bowl teams. This Washington State team is really tough and I expect a game for the ages for all you college football fans. If the Zona D comes up big again, I predict a shutout for the good guys. I'll check Grigsby's Heisman status this week and report back.

It's CLEARLY closer than the score indicates. Are you even watching the game?
I don't like your tone. You are banned from this thread by MOP effective immediately. Jacks driving!
Perhaps you need your :sarcasm: meter fine tuned
 Cougars score! Two score game! Yes!
 I dunno....maybe I am the one that needs an adjustment
Dunno. :lmao: This is an UofA football thread and we will discuss the evolution of Arizona football and the great and might I say, profound history of this program. Only Oklahoma, USC, and Notre Dame can really compare to the excellence of Arizona football and we want to talk about how Tucson is the center of the football universe. Heisman trophy winners? Check. Pac Ten titles? Check. National Championships? Well we aren't really into that because we here on "the coast" don't really care about all that stuff. We care about beating those Sun Devils and making bowls and stuff. Ever been to a bowl party? It's sweet. Chicks all over the place. It's sweet man, seriously.

They won a Pac-10 title?? How is it they have never been to a Rose Bowl then?? Or are they the only Pac-10 team to never WIN a Rose Bowl. I forget. We all know that winning the Rose Bowl means more to the Pac than NCs do...ask that gocats kid

Cats were robbed today. The better team did not win this game. National championship could still be a possibility if they run the table.

Having scanned all the rankings I didn't see Arizona mentioned but I'm sure that is just an oversight. New Mexico and Cal are two top notch programs so those losses are actaully more like wins compared to a Big Ten team like Purdue who I noticed was getting poll love. Arizona is actually Purdue on the West Coast but we don't get the press because our games are on late in the east. It's a conspiracy to me, and I think it should be looked into. Anyway Willie Tuitama set a school record for completions and pass attempts this past weekend.

"Our offense is light years ahead of where it had been," Arizona coach Mike Stoops said. "Defensively, we're not that far off. We compete, but we just aren't there yet."
That sounds like this program is on the cusp of greatness. I think we'll be chest deep in the Rose Bowl race starting this Saturday against conference powerhouse Washington St. Exciting times on the coast.

They're the only team in the PAC10 and BIG10 to never have gone to the Rose Bowl. Just like their sponsor 7-UP, the mildcats also "Never had it, never will".

I still don't get this.
Years ago, they had their own "Win one for the Gipper" moment. Dying player told 'em to "Bear Down". More often than not, however, it becomes "Fall Down". :excited:

As a corollary to ua never finishing first, ASU has never finished last in the conference. Bummer that they moved the Big Game from its traditional day-after-Thanksgiving spot. :kicksrock: :finger: to USC, National TV, and the powers-that-be.
