**Official** Minnesota @ Green Bay MNF discussion thread (1 Viewer)

That decision to not take another shot into the endzone was quite possibly the worst couching decision ever...

Tavaris Jackson reminds me of Kordell Stewart. Except Kordell was 100x better runner AND passer.
:goodposting: I was holding out hope, but Tarvaris Jackson is not an NFL QB. It's as plain as day. What a shame that this front office would put together a team like this and yet hook its wagon to a 1AA project at the most important position. Pure unbridaled ego at play here.
We're 28 min in to Week 1 vs. a pretty good defensive team..Im still holding out for TJ to be something more than an athlete but like you am questioning how a team that can win now didn't try and go out to get another QB.. besides Favre.
Who is the O-Coordinator for the Vikings? He sucks; run - heave it deep, run - heave it deep, real creative guy. Either they have no confidence in the ability of Jackson to read a defense or they spent about 2 seconds drawing up a game plan.
I do agree. They desperately need an over the middle threat. 2 burners and a QB who cannot read defenses well seems like a recipe for disaster. Least they could do is pay a somewhat PROVEN TE. :football:

Darrell Bevell. Childress' QB at Wisconsin.

Almost as bad as deciding on a dumpoff and then screen to a lousy backup RB that can't even get out of bounds right beforehand. Especially considering Rodgers was having no problems slinging the ball around the field and moving them 50 yards in a matter of seconds.

GB:

Rodgers looks good, comfortable. It's nice to see a QB in a GB uni who can run... been a while.

OL is awful, need to do better on the goal line

Grant- no news on his disappearance act.

No sign of Lumpkin, so save your WW frenzy

Jennings looks GREAT

GB's D looks okay after a bad first 2 drives. Containing well and actually getting some pressure.

Bad coaching decisions so far. Bad play calling for the most part, bad decision to forego a shot at the endzone to take the FG which was blocked...

MIN:

Offense looked unstoppable at first with ADP, but since he's been a non-factor.

Looks like the MIN offensive plan is to bank on pass interference calls on GB

MIN D is looking really good but VERY tired, the offense needs to do better to give them some rest.

Officials:

seem to love throwing flags. Glad they've kept them in their pockets. Never seen these guys before by the way...

Tony Kornheiser:

wants to pull a Chad Johnson and change his name to Tony Favre

BRING ON THE SECOND HALF!

DYSOS ;)

TJ.. Same old S

Pass Defense.. Better talent, say play calling = SOS

Childress, your head called, it wants out of your A_ _!!

doesn't Chilly call all the plays?
Of course. Why would an offensive coordinator do such a thing? He's there to make Childress feel good.

Is it me or after EVERY pass (which is like 5 total) have MIN WRs complained about interference?

I understand GB has very physical CBs, but come on, man up and play the game...

They know that they're never going to get a ball thrown close enough to them to catch, so PI is their only hope.

After one half i'm sumper pumped about Rodgers. He's moving well in the pocket, putting the ball into tight spots and looking poised despite all the penalties. And even a Farve-esque TD pass, can't wait to watch this guy the rest of the season and see how he improves. Alot to be excited about here, now if only they could get the W.

I think Jackson is one of those guys who will show just enough flashes of potential that the coaching staff will keep thinking he can continue making strides and be a great QB someday. Unfortunately he will never get there and, by the time the coaching staff (or the new one that replaces it) figures this out, the window to win a Super Bowl will have closed.

LOL at hearing about the penalty over the PA with 3 slappies ignoring there's an important flag on the field.

Haven't watched but I see Jennings w/91 yds. I thought Rodgers was supposed to kill his FF potential. Is this as good as the stats indicate?

One of those was basically a 60 yard jump ball that Jennings made a great play on. Not sure how that factors into the analysis.

Jennings and Rodgers have looked great. Rodger's favorite target. Though he has gone to Driver the entire last drive.Jennings will be fine for FF, never beleived that crap anyways
