Official MLB playoffs thread: 23 hour game exhausts all ball supplies (1 Viewer)

Who wins it all?

Everybody in this thread can probably agree about Joe Buck. When McCarver called games with him, it was horrible. The Sox/Yankee rivalry was so bad, and McCarver was such a doddering homer by that point (before the stroke) that it made every Fox game an, um, experience.
Buck invited Scully to announce an inning in the NLCS.  Scully declined saying he didn’t want to take the spotlight, but I think it’s because Buck sucks.

Bottom 5th
Same as the top 5th

Starter pulled.... First and second.... wild pitch advances runners..

This is going to be a wildly unpopular opinion here for those that love authenticity, but making a Dorito taco was brilliant and #### it's Joe Kelly.

Game 3 starts 90mins after my flight to Germany takes off on Friday.

Thankfully it’s looking like I should be able to catch the 8th and 9th innings after I land.

If Pedro Baez didn’t win Western Hemisphere’s most handsome man, they got it wrong.

The players were asking him how he got that in the air. That was really down and in. Not easy to do that, but Nunez has done that for them for a year and a half.

Was happy to see Baez exit, stuff was electric.

Roberts too by-the-book there with the hook, use your damn eyes buddy.

He had a .677 OPS this year.
Yup. He wasn't that good. But he hit ten home runs, mostly of that variety.

and eight last year in 173 PA for them. So...not saying it's good, or even replacement level, but I'm not surprised he did that to a lefty.

From Fangraphs: Nunez recorded the best offensive season of his career last year, hitting .313/.341/.460 with 12 bombs and 24 steals. The 30-year-old’s production jumped off the page in 2016, his first year as a full-time major league regular. Nunez hit 16 homers and stole 40 bases that season, which seemed unsustainable until he essentially repeated those HR/SB rates in 2017. His well-rounded skill set is a welcome addition to any fantasy roster, as he’s a steady five-category contributor with multi-positional eligibility (he’ll qualify at 2B, SS, 3B and OF in 2018). The only issue with him is that, at the time of this writing, Nunez remains unsigned. It will be interesting to see where he signs, because his fantasy outlook is directly tied to how much playing time he’ll receive. (Scott Strandberg)

I'm not saying he's good. But you're cherry picking.

Let me get this straight.... You're going to fall back upon the 36 regular season + 5 post season games that he played with Boston last year to defend your concept of him doing this 'for them for a year and a half', and I'm the one that's cherry picking stats?

you sure you want to go down this road?

Yeah, I do. Last year he went .353/.539/.892 for the Red Sox with eight home runs in 173 PA. He had an OPS+ of 129. Perhaps that was a bit hyperbolic.

He's not that good. We get that you resent my comment. But I have to watch this team because of family way too much. You have a baseball thread for the hardcore guys. My statement was pretty innocuous, and pretty much just a celebratory one. And given what he gave them last year, not totally inaccurate.
