***Official MNF Thread--Week 13*** (1 Viewer)

So - anyone else remember a D scoring 3 TDs?
Seattle returned four picks for TDs against KC. I think it was in 83 or 84. Damn. That makes me feel old. :(
Hey Shick.I think I remember that albeit vaguely (I was 12 or 13 at the time).

Wow wasn't that pre-ESPN?

Wait - ESPN goes to 79 right....?
I looked it up. It was week 10 vs KC in 1984. Odd year, Zorn and Krieg combined to throw six interceptions in KC that same year. Not sure when ESPN started showing NFL games. The network was on in the late 70s, but no NFL for a long time.

It's obvious I'm an Eagles / Igglz fan, have been for 25+ seasons.

It's also obvious that everything that could go wrong this year did.

That being said, I forgot what the lean years (Before Donovan) were like.  This is a wierd feeling - but I now re-appreciate the 11+ wins a season.

Here's to football, and here's to 2006 for the Igglz once again (with a last place schedule, which only helps with 2 games - but should be GB, NO and SF).

Here's also to Peyton finally getting a ring.
I hear you. Born and raised in Philly and a Big 5 grad (La Salle).I was with you all the way -

until the last sentence.
So- if not Indy then who this year? SD?
AFC, clearly. Chiefs and Denver could do it, too, but the Colts are going to have home field, which is huge for them, given that competition. The Colts are definitely the best team.

Maybe I don't understand fully the pointing to the shirt thing. I thought it meant "making excuses."

Watching the most ridiculous fantasy defensive scoring experience in eight years (in my league, the Seahawks currently have seven more points tonight than any PLAYER, including defenses, have ever scored in my league) is not "making excuses."
Ummm...yes it is. You lost. Plain and simple. He had a player/defense that scored a ton of points and won it for him.

Only ones watching this game would be Fantasy guys.  O/U was 40 or 41.
Would they really at this point? Nobody's really in anymore.
IDP Playoff game (early playoffs - long story)I have a 4.9 point lead right now. Since Westbrook's out, I have to hope Trotter and Kearse don't combine for 5 more tackles (solo).

I was less than pleased when we traded a bunch of crap to move up a few spaces in the 2nd round to reach (or so I thought) for an undersized LB, but I was wrong.Tatupu is the man. And to make up for it I'll be getting his jersey this year for the playoffs. He's got the spark in the D that Simmons was supposed to bring. Great draft pick.4 yards from 4 scores for the D. Can't wait to see the Bagel fans at work tomorrow. Pass the torch!

Well, living in Jacksonville now, Peyton ain't the most popular player.I want to see the best team win. I want to see good football. If that's Peyton, fine. But I can't root for him, especially with him playing the favorite role now.

I don't really care - as long as they don't have a star on their helmet.

Actually, I didn't lose. But thanks for the clarification. So, he's crushing his opponent, and only needed his opponent's D - the mediocre Seahawks - not to set a scoring record. Perhaps the most inept offensive performance ever seen on Monday night football transpires. He complains. The "point to shirt" icon comes out, because he is "making excuses."

Now I recognize what a truly powerful metaphor that shirt thing is. It should begin sweeping the nation anytime now.

It's quite enjoyable, also, to post and have someone whip out the shirt. I imagine you are quite popular on the boards here, as I expect this isn't the first time you've pulled it out (since world-historic performances aren't very common, and many people complain of run-of-the-mill causes for their losses).

Is there anyone on the planet who is not a fantasy football player who still has this game on? My buddy needs four more points from LJ Smith in a PPR league to wrap up a playoff spot, so we still have it on.I can't imagine anyone else still watching this mess.

I need 45 or less total points to win my work football pool. 46 is a tie, 47+ and I lose to a guy who just completely guesses. And I'll win it over the Eagle's fan who wouldn't bet me on the game.

So if you're Andy Reid, who's your starter against the Giants?Detmer has had more catchable balls dropped it seems like.McMahon can scramble more and he'll be running for his life. You don't throw Andy Hall in against that D-line.

I love football, but why is ANYONE still sitting there watching that game (unless they are related to a player or a Seattle fan)....?

I'm glad to get a chance to see MMorris run. And I'm not impressed. I expected a little better.
He's got backup linemen in and the Eagles know they're running. Not making excuses, but it makes a difference.

I say Detmer, but may be tough with a short week.McMahon has had happy feet the entire time he's played, not just tonight.

Either way the Giants should roll..... that hurts to type.

I recognize that. But MM isn't making the kind of moves that I thought he might. Guess I'm just use to seeing Alexanders level of talent there.

"Welcome back to the Iditarod" (sp?)...hilarious.

These guys are earning their salaries tonight.
Michaels is good at filling airtime. Used to be the king of Over/Under statements - as in a meaningless score happens and he says "Now this game is DEFINITELY OVER"....

Unless he's a mudder, the field matters at this point too.

Do they re-start the rumors about :shudder: picking up Kordell :shudder:?

I'm convinced that Al and Madden have some kind of bet concerning whether Madden can mention "canning the center" in every game they call. I can't recall him missing one.

With the empty stadium, the snow, and the score, this reminds me of The Shining.Madden "thinks that the Eagles have been embarassed". Captain Obvious strikes again.

So after a year's study, overcoming injuries, making trades, free agents, etc., I go into last night's game down by 12 points, needing a win for the playoffs...a loss or tie and I'm out. I still have Kerry Collins and Josh Brown.Collins gets me 6 points...

Did ya lose points for the mised FG?

I'm still revelling in my comeback due to the Seahawk D and pulling for the shutout to get the week's high score money.
