Sounds like Keenan Allen would rather be in the visitor's locker room in T-Town next September 11th. :)
A bama fan who goes to Greensboro (KA's HS) is saying that KA's been wearing a lot of PSU gear recently. TIFWIW.
Not going to get my hopes up because he could just be playing the game. But we really do need another QB to compete with the young guys we have so it's not that unreasonable for PSU to take his brother as well. He looked decent at Buffalo last year.
I've been out of pocket for two days...what exactly is going on with this saga? Clemson was a lock late last week, Cal a lock on Sunday...now Penn State, who's been recruiting him for 3 days? And there are stories of some 'handler'?Keep in mind I get the above info from biased sources....sources now saying both Alabama and Clemson walked away.
Are there any red flags with Allen? Maynard is notorious for his troubles in the classroom and was briefly suspended this past season (albeit for 1 quarter) for an undisclosed reason - he was suspended along with a WR, so it seems that whatever they did, they did together.
Hadn't heard that about Maynard. The only thing I've read is that Allen's father was pretty highly thought of.

Our admins on RB are saying not to expect Allen. Apparently there wasn't room for Maynard. Sounds like Cal is it.

Rutgers had a HUGE day today - three four-star recruits committed within a span of six hours:

Brandon Colemen - four star WR from Maryland

Jeremy Deering - four star WR from Florida

Rashad Knight - four star safety from Florida

Alabama walked away because they weren't offering their brother so he wasn't coming. Clemson didn't back away. KA loved his visit to Cal and I believe has a teammate or two headed there (Gabe King, 4* DE out of my head). Cal is bringing in a very good class.

Some early morning buzz:

#2 overall OT Henderson is leaning to USC.

#5 Allen back to Cal?

#24 Ambles to USC, but UT's soothes that pain with #9 Da'rick Rodgers?

Arky to flip some Auburn recruits?

The first shoe dropped in the UA/UT/AU battle over OLs....Stone commits to UT. Now Alabama and Auburn are awaiting the Coleman announcement.

Jeffcoat has committed to UT.Nebraska got a huge commit for 2011, as QB Jamal Turner verballed last night. The Huskers had a huge lead for the kid, but it was pretty surprising that he committed last night as he had recently talked about visiting OU and Bama junior days. The 3 top remaining targets for Nebraska, Owa, Cooper, and Carnes, are all announcing their decisions on signing day.I'm pretty optimistic about Owa and Carnes. Cooper I have no idea.
Carnes commits to Western Kentucky
Now apparently not. A lot of conflicting reports this weekend, but according to Brion it's back to a signing day announcement. Looking at all the reports that came out this weekend, it seems like WK is going to be his choice though.
Seems like he committed to the coaches but isn't making it public and is still thinking about his final decision.
Yep, or he just wants to have his announcement event. Either way, not holding out much hope on this one.
So after all this, Brion Carnes did sign with Nebraska. Carnes is the #7 ranked DT QB by Rivals. There's also a report out this morning the *4 Safety and Rivals 250 member Corey Cooper will announce for Nebraska this morning.

Cooper just announced and confirmed signing with Nebraska. That's 2 out of 3 remaining targets that have signed today. Owa, announces later this morning.

Coleman to Auburn! Nice get...unless Saban has a surprise up his sleeve, I think we're done for the day. Probably finish around #4 or #5.

Cooper is a huge get :goodposting: Nebraska needed a top flight safety in this class, and CC is a man-beast.Stud juco LB Lavonte David, who some people were worried about since his late visit to USF, also signed with Nebraska. Was very surprised about Carnes. I thought him and Western Kentucky were a done deal. Maybe he finally looked at next year's schedule and saw who he would be playing in September if he signed with the Hilltoppers. :hophead:2 down and 1 to go. Come on Owa!!!

Not looking great with Owa right now, unfortunately. Various reports that he's informed the coaches he'll be signing elsewhere, but of course everyone thought Carnes was gone less than 24 hours ago too. Cooper was a much bigger need, so I'm relieved he signed. You always want a stud like Owa, but we already have a good young pool on the team, some great prospects in this class, and more lined up for next year.

Yea, most of the reports/rumors I've seen have him going to UCLA. I have no idea how accurate any of these are. It's also being reported that the coaches will be calling Denton Simek (3 star OL) at noon about a possible offer. With all 21 kids signed already, there's only 1 ship left.

Yahoo sports is supposedly reporting that he signed an LOI with Oregon St.ETA: I can't find confirmation on yahoo of that report. It was a radio station reporting it, so could be a misunderstanding or bad report.

Why would Owa sign his LOI before his scheduled ESPN announcement? ESPN certainly couldn't be very happy with him

Not sure if anyone cares but the top punting prospect (or so he's been called) in the nation, Matt Darr, ducked out on his verbal to USC. He signed with Fresno State a couple of days ago.

Dyer and Mosley still coming to AU, but Ark did get Byran Jones 4* DT, it was down to Auburn and Arkansas on that, he decided to stay in state.

Lemonier signed now as well.

Waiting on Reed and Bonomolo to finish out a top 3 class.

Oregon landed 4* DT Ricky Heimuli formerly verbally committed to Utah. This is really, REALLY big for the Ducks as the D-Line is the thinnest position on the team. Huge signing there!

I'm disappointed Corey Nelson de-committed from A&M and chose Oklahoma. It always baffles me though how some internet posters can get so belligerent over news like this. One of the A&M boards I frequent has people hoping he gets taken out and injured. Every fan base has 'em I guess.
