Curious to see how the team responds when playing Florida on Tuesday.
With 24 turnovers apparently. I couldn't believe how much they struggled in the first half.

That's the first time I've watched Kansas this year. I had heard of Wiggins, of course, but I was impressed with Embiid. He was a big problem for Florida on the defensive end.

Florida's still finding themselves as well with all the injuries and suspensions they've dealt with so far.

Donovan coached a great game. He had the 1-3-1 halfcourt trap already installed, and after seeing Villanova's 1-2-2 three-quarters trap give KU so much trouble, he knew to deploy it. When Florida went on their 21-0 run, they ran the 1-3-1 every time on defense. Between their ability to switch schemes seamlessly on defense and willingness to spread out and share the ball on offense, Florida is going to be a tough out in March. Rugged on the glass, too - teams rarely get so many offensive boards against KU.

It's fascinating watching Embiid play. One possession he will fumble a simple entry pass to the post and get the ball stripped from him. And then he will pin a layup against the glass and get a dunk at the other end. IMO he's going to need another season of college ball to clean up his fundamentals flaws, but it's hard to tell a kid likely to drafted no lower than 6th to stay in school.

I'm used to KU being turnover-prone - Self loves him some combo guards and the high-low flex doesn't attract pure floor generals - but the lousy 3PT shooting and gaps in rebounding have been tough to watch. I just hope the schedule really has been as tough as Ken Pomeroy says it is.

Oh yeah. **** Vitale has got to go away. I admit I was once a fan, but he's just unbearable. Tonight he started complaining about the media hyping up freshmen too much and putting unrealistic expectations on them before they ever play a college game. Yes, the same guy who a few weeks ago declared Jabari Parker the best player ever to come out of Chicago Simeon and the best freshman in the history of the Duke program.

Auburn just intentionally fouled in a tied game with 19 seconds left. And then after the free throws, they tossed the inbounds straight out if bounds.

Either point shaving or the dumbest team ever.

Fantastic effort all night and then complete mental breakdown at the end.

These kids who have three point FG percentages that are as good as their FT percentages, are lazy. And their coaches let them get away with it.

Cuse!

@celebrityhottub: It's unfair to call Auburn a safety school because most people would rather just not go to college if that's the only option.

:lmao:

Can't take these rankings seriously until I see Creighton ranked above Villanova and Witchita State no higher than #8.

At the risk of encouraging Obama bashing, I'll bump the thread to mention the firing of Oregon State's Craig Robinson. The timing in early May is very strange but other than that, it really doesn't come as a big surprise. OSU has underachieved during his tenure and next season is shaping up as a disaster. His successor will have a massive challenge ahead of him.
