I like DeWitt as a solid future player with a pretty good glove, but he's just killing the Dodgers with his bat this series. He always gets up with runners on and never comes through.

Did the announcer just say the Phillies want Manny to bat with the bases loaded? Phillies like to live dangerously or something? Wish it were possible.

Ditto Kemp and Martin, though at least Martin hit a little in the divisional series. The Dodgers are killing me this series though. :lmao:

I'm sure that was McCarver's "opinion" because Manny has bad numbers with the bases loaded or something. ######ed about sums it up.

Nah he's just lost and has no idea what he's saying most of the time. God I hope they put him out to pasture after this season, he's lost it, whatever it is that he had.

Congrats to Phillies fans especially my man John Simmons and my good i-buddy Red. I'll be rooting for you in the series. :lmao:

Dewitt is going to be a solid player at either 2nd or 3rd. Problem with Martin is he isnt a #4 hitter. He should be 2nd or 7th. Loney should be cleanup this series. At this point, I think LA needs to pay that man his money and keep Manny. If for nothing else, to teach Kemp about how to work and about hitting. Kemp has the tools to be a 30-30 or better hitter and an excellent CF. If he does reach that, Ethier, Kemp, Manny, Loney, Blake, Martin, Dewitt is a heck of a lineup next year. Furcal leading off would be nice but i am not sure they are going to pay him.

For those of you that don't follow baseball history the Phillies are one of the true tough luck organizations in all of sports and possibly the worst in baseball history. They were the Rays when Harry Calas was in elementary school, and haven't had a whole lot of luck since. The city of Philadelphia deserves a title, would be nice if the Phillies were the team to provide it.

Congrats Phillie fans, especially my homie RedRaiders. I'll be rooting for you guys (big-time) if Boston comes back.

But in the event of a Rays LCS win, plzdie.

Alyssa Milano sighting :football:
#1 Ideal Wife IMHOfunny when she was in the phillies booth earlier this season. Sarge was so smitten that her appearance was referenced the next couple games.Edit to Add: She was wearing her own clothing line, and the Towel over her head was too cute. :)

Pretty sure he meant bases empty. I don't mind him, but then again I don't mind pretty much any announcer besides kornheisser and most fans hate every announcer that ever lived.

I'm not sure if Manny is the best role model for young hitters. He's a tremendous hitter but he hasn't really been associated with leadership or mentoring young players until his arrival in LA.

Congrats to the Phillies and their fans. :lmao:

And I will admit it: I was dead wrong about this series. I thought LA was the hotter and better team coming in, but the Phillies were clearly the better team all year, while the Dodgers showed that they were nothing more than the barely above average team that only won a round because they ran up against a Cubs team with no heart in the first round. They were outclassed by a much better team in the NLCS.

Maybe not, but his approach to the game, his dedication to film and the cages might follow the lead by example.PLUS the way Manny routinely hits to RC has to open Kemps' eyes about it right?

:thumbdown:They outplayed the Dodgers in every phase of the game over the course of the series. They deserve to advance.

 The last 28 years for that organization could be considered salad days for them what with 4 of their 6 pennants in that time. It's pretty remarkable that one of the original NL franchises has had that few pennants and championships in their history. The fact that they had two trips to the WS in the 100 years before 1980 is an incredible record of futility.

The Baseball Forum is going to explode for Rays/Phils.Jamie Moyer vs. a right handed lineup = :plzdie:I don't think they go Hamels on short rest twice either.

Yeah, congrats Phillies. Good luck, although I will be loading on the Rays if they get there. If not, I'll take the big value there will sure to be had on the Phillies over the Red Sox.

Love Charlie, Hamels (Socal boy who seems very grounded and cool; as well as his bro  ) and the Flyin' Hawaiian, who clearly has that Aloha spirit.

And did the sleeping giant awake? I think so. :sarcasm:
