Did I read that right? The Mexico game today ended in a draw with a score of 0-0? No, not 2-2 or even 1-1.....0-0! No points scored.

Great game, guys. Nice jogging you did today.

Sure. Just saying you are going to get trolls left and right anywhere you talk soccer in the FFA.

I'm ambivalent about it myself. I am following and enjoying the world cup but I also think soccer has a lot of strange cultural quirks and I enjoy poking fun at it.

If the US won the World Cup it would be the biggest thing ever in US team sports. It would matter to nearly everyone. No, the fan support would not be sustainable, but for that moment in time, it would be the most cheered for sporting event in the history of US sports.

I think he's right but mainly because of the change in technology and access to the event and everything going on with it. If I recall the hockey game wasn't shown live, right?

World Cup USA win would be many times better than the 1980 Olympic Hockey win. The whole world cares about soccer. Not so much hockey. To me though they're both about the same thing. One is played on ice and the other on grass.

So I happened to be at Buffalo Wild Wings on the first Sunday of the NCAA tournament. I was sitting there waiting for a takeout order and I heard a loud cheer from a table. I was a little confused because I didn't think any of the games were close to ending so I didn't think there could be a buzzer beater or anything. So I turned to look, and it was a table of Korean guys watching Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. Really? Koreans cheering for a team from Spain while in the USA during the NCAA tournament. I threw up a little.

NCAA title game - ~28 million* viewers

*plus probably a few thousand outside the US that no one bothers counting
