Realllllllllly would have loved to be facing those 2 studs in NY as opposed to in LA.

Hope we didn't overdo this whole resting and coasting into the playoffs thing.
Would certainly have preferred Game 1 and 2 in NY, but I don't think it matters that much. I have no doubt that the offense kind of went to sleep this past week, and that won't be the case in the playoffs, although we'll see how much that matters. Kershaw and Greinke will certainly be tough, but I wouldn't want to face DeGrom, Thor, Harvey, either.

Anyway, let's enjoy the next four days, and the playoffs. It's been a fantastic year, and I hope they can keep this going for a while.

Somebody, I think it was Rubin, said that these later times mean that shadows won't be an issue for the hitters. Not that it really matters with the 4 starting pitchers, though.

Actually, that could mean a lot, especially in a playoff game where one run, one hit here or here, can mean so much.

While it certainly effects both teams, at least the dodger players are used to it. Definitely a plus where all pluses help

Soooo playoff tix.

I see cheapest seats for game 3 are $173 on stubhub for standing room.

This get cheaper...more expensive as game time nears?

Best site for tix?

What exactly does standing room mean at Citi?

Walk around anywhere you want?

Stand in a section?
Is it on the bridge and down toward the food stands in right center or is it anywhere? Interesting question.

I happen to love standing out in that area to watch.

Matt Harvey is not at mandatory practice today? WTF?

Very curious as it appears this was not expected by Terry nor

Ugh about Uribe. Such a key cog, imo. Moreso than his number show.

BTW, bull#### with Harvey. Totally. I'd honestly consider passing up his start, but would need to know more about the specifics and if it's been an issue prior.

Just ridiculous here.

Passing up his start would be insanity

This. Clearly I would have preferred if he would have been able to drag his hung-over ### to the field on time, but he's not pitching for 5 more days. Fine him, have him apologize to his teammates, etc. But no lesson is worth starting Bart over Harvey in the first playoff game in Citi's history

I agree, I agree. Just very pissed at the time. I thought it over and calmer heads prevailed. I'll let Terry know my decision shortly.

See that you do! As the only New York team left in the playoffs, we need to make sure that we advance as far as possible!!

While everyone thinks "their guys" are the best, I do believe Mets fans have been pretty fortunate overall with some great booths, TV and radio. Heck, I even really liked McCarver until he sorta became a bit of a character rather than just he announcing, once on the national stage for a while. But with the Mets? Great tone, insight, balance.

Was happy to hear Darling.

Love our guys but must say when it was Hernandez and Darling alone in the both it was a few rough games to watch

Vaca days can always be rough when the professional's out. Darling is really learning and into it as a profession, and while there's no ill will, Keith is Keith. Hard to ask Darling to make that go smooth.

I enjoyed them to be honest. Then again, half the time my deal with the wife was I can watch, but on mute. Then she can listen to her audio books about vampires making out with and/or killing werewolves.

TRUST ME - Listening to Keith and Darling stare at each other for a few seconds is lightyears ahead of that, any day. But, I watched the games. Almost every, single, one.

I looked in the Pirates thread. There is a lot of whining about how the mediocre Mets get a series and the superior Pirates got one game. Lol

Most of the whining stopped but you wouldn't be a little upset if the situation was reversed? We are fans and just saw a 98 win team playing in the toughest division in baseball get bounced in a one game WC while the Mets had less wins, were terrible head to head against the Bucs and played in a terrible division. I think a very legitimate case could be made that the Mets are inferior to the Pirates. However, I would much rather be in your shoes today. Good luck.

Forget about how strong the overall divisions were. The Mets did well beating up on the bad teams in their division. If the Pirates were a few games better than a combined 17-21 against Milwaukee and Cincinnati (Mets were 10-3 against them FWIW), they would have won the division and not been stuck in this mess.

This is true but my point still holds. Anyways, it's not worth discussing anymore because I don't want to take anything away from the Mets. They are a very good team and absolutely worthy of being in the playoffs. I did also have a post in the Pirates thread where I said the exact same thing. If I was whining, it was probably because I was emotional knowing that our season would end in disappointment

No.I surely did not make a peep about the "inferior" Redbirds beating the Mets in 2006.

:lmao: 2 completely different scenarios. Bringing up that 2006 series is absolutely irrelevant to this discussion. Anyways, I wouldn't have even come in here had you not posted about our whining. I've made my point so I'm out.

Hard to imagine a better team than Cohen-Darling-Hernandez.

I do have trouble with Rose and Lewin on the radio. They're like the same guy so it gets annoying.

Good point on radio. I have watched so much on tv and before my health issues this year in person I've not listened to much radio.

Murph was just great growing up. I actually know his daughter pretty well - she's in govt and I'm on the other side of the table in a number of development projects with Suffolk Cty (and prior to that when she was at the City of Glen Cove).

Lewin sounds like Sylvester the cat at times.

Got used to it but mildly annoyed me at 1st.

Kept waiting for him to be like "David Wright rounds 2nd he's sliding into 3rd...sufferin succotash he's safe!"

Oh, it is completely relevant.

Tickets still seem crazy. Standing room for $200

Anyone with experience on this?

Will they get cheaper on game day at say stubhub?

If I took a chance at the stadium on Mon or Tue would I scalp them under $100 even after game starts?

I'd very much doubt it. First playoff game in 9 years, demand is off the charts. You might get cheaper prices for Game 4.

Totally agree.

You want it, pay up. I would definitely go if I could... but I'll take being 15 Miles east watching at home.
