I'll be in Arizona cheering on the Huskies. They will surprise alot of people, they have a solid D. And this is not the same team that started out shaky. Team really came on, won 5 in a row. The QB is the worst qb in Division 1, but the running game is their bread and butter.

OU beat Stanford last year, I'd like to think that played into it also. Trying to find out why Colorado State has issues with OU, did OU have secks with their sisters?
UCONN is solid on D, I don't think this game will be a blowout. Will be interested in seeing the total on this game, should be interesting.I might go, I'm about 50/50 right now but will decide this week. I made hotel reservations in October for the game, so i have that going for me. Problem is the damn stadium is a long way from the airport and I'd rather not rent a car. The bowl packages offered through the Alumni Association are pricey, tickets not that cheap either ($195 for upper 50 yard line). Did you already get your tickets/make travel arrangements?
Haven't made arrangements yet. Cheapest roundtrip out of JFK I could find is 650. Oof. I do have a free one way trip from Jet Blue, but it is always tough to find eligible flights. I can use hotel points for a free weekend I am sure. Can't miss work, so I will likely leave Friday (get the day off) and come back Sunday. I am going to purchase the best tickets I can online. Looking for 50 yard lne, 20 rows or so up. Can't wait.
If anything, the talent overcame unimaginative playcalling.
This is my concern...
If you like rb up the middle and wr screens he is your guy. OU has had a ton of success the past few years with his schemes, but I don't know how much of that is a heisman winning QB and dink and dunk passes to very good WR's. No ill will towards the man at this time, but his play calling was very predictable at times. I hope that he does go to Indiana and has a wonderful career.
I think Leach would definitely pass, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mangino took a coordinator position.
Like I said earlier in the thread, his game prep and his actual coaching are very good. His play calling and his in-game adjustments are my issues but I think he'll work out just fine in Indiana where he won't have Sooner fans constantly yelling at him, and where he can have the freedom to run his own system without question.
Very clever move by Stoops making Norvell and Heupel co-coordinators but giving the playcalling to Heupel. I think the two may butt heads at times but it's a two-headed monster which leads to more creativity.Norvell is already being mentioned as a HC candidate at a few places, but this is his chance to really make his mark and land a little better gig than Wilson did. I liked Wilson and he did a great job with the unit over the five years he was coordinator, but I do think a change was needed and Indiana provided the easy out.
I wish you would have played Boise State. Playing a team closer to you caliber of play makes for a more interesting game. Common man, Connecticut verse Oklahoma, what were they thinking. This cheapened BCS bowl and Oklahoma's victory shallow.I hate the BCS system. It is nothing more than the good old boys network.
How about a coach whose sole job it is to walk up and slap every player who tries to deliver a knockout blow rather than wrapping up. It's not like someone left his lane and there was a big hole for that guy to run through on the kickoff. At least three guys were in position to make the play but every one of them dropped their heads and tried to knock him off his feet rather than just tackle him. I noticed the same thing on defense. 7-8 times an LB or S was in position to tackle that RB but tried to deliver a blow rather than just tackle him. If they'd just wrapped up, the RB would not have had 100 yards.That being said, the team showed great focus and ended up with a nice win to end the season. 12-2, Big 12 champs and a Fiesta Bowl win is a pretty damned good year.
No, not really. OU is a young team and Stoops had lost five straight BCS bowls. You must not follow college football, a BCS bowl win is a good win regardless and a loss bad, regardless. This Connecticut team was probably slightly worse than WVa was a couple of years ago and WVa crushed OU. A win is a win, a BCS Bowl is always good. Christo>Agreed, tackling was really bad last night.

Really sad news. Just heard this on local news here in Tulsa. First he was found unconscious, and 30 minutes later reports out his was dead. Box was found unconscious in the town of El Reno, and flown to Mercy Hospital.Sad sad news.
