***Official Pack @ SF*** (1 Viewer)

Should be a fun game...have to slow Gore a bit and limit Kap's running.

Defense played well for the Pack tonight and have for parts of this season.

Offense has to find a way against that SF defense...

Smith will be back as well for SF, which will make things more difficult for GB. It certainly didn't go well for GB's offense last time these two played. It's a long season though, and both of these teams are different than they were during week 1.Biggest differences from last time they played:Obviously Kaepernick. It's his first playoff game. How will he respond? Also, Green Bay's run game is much improved. Will be interesting to see if their offense can get something going, which they couldn't in their first matchup.

GB's O-line remains porous - not a good matchup against the SF pass rush. GB's run attack has been a bit better, but again, not a good matchup vs SF run D. The key variables are Colin K. and the GB D.

I would be ok with a 90/10 pass to run split for the Packers. Look at the NE comeback as a plan. Short throws and a lot of them.

Week1

SF's win in week 1 came down to the final drive and I don't think they'll be gifted a TD this time around (blown coverage TD to Moss). I'm seeing a 31-27 win either way.

Not quite as porous as it once was...Rodgers still takes some sacks...but few er due to bad oline play and more due to him holding the balltrying to make plays downfield.

In all fairness, the Packer were gifted a TD on that punt return where they picked up the flag on what should have been a penalty nullifying the runback.

In Week 1, GB was obviously confounded by not being able to just score 80-yard TDs at will like in 2011. Now they've played through a bunch of games that they had to win with guts (or gootz, as Morrissey would say) and defense and making plays in the middle of the field in the passing game.

SF is a tough draw and Harbaugh will have some more inventive looks on offense. Packers' defense needs to show up this time.

GB - 23

SF - 19

Personally week 1 has nothing to do with this game. That was basically last season. The play calling, personnel on both sides, and current thought process by both teams is very different, I know on the Packers side it is.

I wish Alex Smith was still starting from a Packer fan's perspective.
Nah, I think the Packers are much more likely to get into Kaep's head to get a turnover than if Smith was out there. Can he also make possibly bigger plays with his feet? Yes, but I think with the limited experience of Kaep is the biggest benefit for the Packers. Also a little stat for you on first time starting QBs:Post Merger 1970 (all stats are from pro-football-reference)Quarterbacks (first 3 years of career) entering first playoff game starting:Record: 36-66Home Record: 24-22 (52%)All Teams since 1970Home Record: 252-132 (66%)

SF is missing Manningham, William, Hunter, and will be fielding a one-armed Justin Smith. Saying SF is very different this time around is an understatement.

What about Davis? Is he still having head issues?

GB 33SF 17 Pack open it up a bit.
I like the part where GB's defense holds SF to 17 at home.
St. Louis - 24 (17 in 4th)Bears - 32 (5 in 4th)Dolphins - 27 (14 in 4th)Cardinals - 27 (10 in 4th)Since Kaep took over your looking at a team who entered the 4th under 17 points in 3 out of the 4 home games. If the Packers were up 33-17 at that point you could see possibly a scoreless 4th quarter as the 49ers pressed and the Packers ran down the clock.

He played in week 17 but only caught 1 pass for 5 yards. Packers are no strangers to the injury list but at least its not as bad in past years. Lost a couple defensive playmakers in Perry, Worthy, and Bishop but we just got Woodson, Matthews, Nelson, and Jennings so its a huge help now going into the SF game.

Today I learned that football games are only three quarters long.
He was wondering how the Packers could hold the 49ers to 17 points at home. I explained how it could potentially happen. I never stated the game was over after 3 quarters so quite trying to be to snarky. If the packers were up by 2 or 3 scores after 3 quarters I could potentially see the 49ers being out of their comfort zone being pass happy and being shut out in the final frame of the game.

Since the Packers haven't scored 33 points in the first 3 quarters of any road game this season, why are we thinking they will all of a sudden do it in SF?

Never said they would, that was Icon's prediction. As for 30+ points it could be 33-17 before the 49ers get the ball in the 4th with a 26-17 lead and Packers drive to start off the 4th

Packers 35-17 14:48 4th (@Houston) - when Houston was rolling along earlier in the year when they didnt give up over 30 points except to the packers in the first 9 games

Again I am only explaining why I would think the Packers could hold the 49ers to 17 or less points in the game. If they are up by 2 or 3 scores.

Not only was it his prediciton, but it was for the whole game, not 3 quarters.Even in RN's post, the use of the word "if" is pretty key to understanding what was being said.

When do you guys think that Sho Nuff admits his alias is packseasontix?
About when you ever admit to how much of a homer you are.BTW...I thought you left this place because people did not want to have actual discussions...then you come in this thread with this? Its funny the three people coming in here to criticize me (well, 2 and one just posting a smilie) have offered actually nothing when it comes to the topic at hand.Perhaps you need to quit blaming me for how things go to crap on this board and look in the mirror.

Packseasontix can't let things go just like you.Packseasontix posts a nasty response to me in this thread, then deletes it.Then you show up and criticize. Finally, you laugh at something he posts. :lmao:

So basically again just admitting that your claim of why you did not post on here for a few months is a bunch of crap since that is all you are doing here is bashing and not even trying to discuss the topic? Thanks...thought so.Now go post about how looking forward to 2013 you are for the Bears...some teams still have some games to play.

Fine I deleted it because I didn't want to be nasty. But since you asked for it, your a moron. Also not let things go? I was called out on what I said so I responded TO IT. I didn't randomly bring it up in another thread or days later. Also unlike you I was on topic to the forum, I know the only place you can be a bully is the internet without getting beat up but please take it elsewhere.

Within a minute of each other.

Have I insulted? Called names? Look up bullying, i'll be here waiting

If you don't like someone being honest and calling you out, then go hide in a hole.

Cough...BS...CoughYou mean like you went to hide in a hole when you got mad that people called you out and strayed from the actual discussion?

Wow...hypocrisy...thy name is benson_will_lead_the_way...now back to worrying about the 2013 season for you.

Feel better continually insulting yet?I mention that I think you have an alias and now i'm a: moron, bully, homer, and cut down for discussing the Bears.

Yes I left the Shark Pool for months, it's been a waste of time. I had serious personal things come up that were more important than reading you're white noise. Also, surprised to see that I started an actual real discussion with the GB offseason and yet you still insult me. :Glass house:

Oh my god! Just what we need. A pissing contest between two of the gayest homers on these boards. Get a ####### room!
