So for all of the Camden cornholers, where are y'all from?I know TU is from NY and RR is from the Philly area...how bout the rest of you?
Coming up from Columbia, MD.. not far
Merriweather :sadbanana:
Yeah I used to be able to hear every show from my house, but I've moved a little farther awayWe get like one good show a year anymore, maybe two. Saw PJ there in 2000.
Really? That is a pretty sweet venue, although the tailgating stunk...I saw 'em there in 1998...
They don't get many bands I want to see anymore. I won't be venturing there this summer, for sure. I guess most of who I want to see are either too big or too small for Merriweather. Last show I saw there was Heaven and Hell/Megadeth.. really the only decent acts you can count on coming through are old school metal bands. Iron Maiden is playing soon but meh, not this year. Not worth it with no decent openers.Yeah not great for tailgating either, totally depends on the crowd and what mood the cops are in.

Great show last night. God, am I feeling it today. We decided to leave at about 5:30 and tailgate, but then hit some unholy traffic around Disney and it ended up taking us almost two hours to get there (figuring in a beer stop and a piss stop.) I drank a 32 oz vodka/Red Bull on the way there (8 oz vodka/24 Red Bull) to fuel up. Got parked at 7:35 and had until 8:20 to whack out the 6 of Sam Adams. Got it done. Got a giant beer when I went in, then during Daughter, I got a 20 oz Coke and mixed it with the 8 oz Jack Daniel's I smuggled in and nursed that for the rest of the show. Had 2 more beers on the way home. Not feeling well today.

But, oh what a glorious time last night ! Weather was gorgeous when we got there for tailgating, the Sometimes opener was a treat. Highlight of the show, IMO, was "Light Years." Just sounded terrific. "Present Tense" was fantastic too. They sounded great beginning to end, set clocked in at lust over 2:15. Place was jammed (20,000+) and Ed made a joke about only coming through Florida "once every 8 years." Ed was funny as hell.. after one song, he joked about not knowing "where the f--k" he was because there was a Canadian flag hanging in the arena (Lightning play there) He also told a story about how he idolized Jose Cardenal (Cubs RF) growing up because he "had a bad-### Afro" and then announced that he was in the crowd seeing them for the first time. He put Cardenal in the "bleachers" - left stage upper level - because that's where Ed always had to see Cubs games from because they couldn't afford good seats. Crowd was very loud and enthusiastic (particularly the ##### nozzle behind me who screamed "JEREMYYYYYYYYYY !" at the top of his lungs in between every song all night,) and Ed commented on what a strong crowd it was.

Great show, even though the acoustics in that arena are not great. The sound board recordings will sound terrific, but the Amway Arena in Orlando has MUCH better sound than this place - someone should have told them to play here instead. I saw Tool in both arenas and the difference is striking.

Yeah, not a ton of repeats. I could have done without Daughter and Evenflow, but I know they kinda have to play those. Black and Alive, I never get sick of though. Porch was amazing - that was another highlight. I'm also kinda fed up with Elderly Woman.. I've seen them about 10-12 times now, and I honestly don't think I've ever seen a set without it. They could have ditched those and played Not For You/Modern Girl, Breath, I Got Id, and Leash and it would have been damned near perfect. maybe Brain of J too, but that's not one of their better live cuts. All in all, no complaints, it was a great show.

Now that the warmup shows in Florida are over, the sets should get REAL interesting :excited:

Bonnaroo will be a whole separate animal, I have no idea what to expect there, but I think the post Roo tour will continue with a great mix of the old and the new, the rare and the well known...Really looking forward to 2 in Camden, I think we'll get two great shows with only a couple of repeats

:kicksrock:

Opened Bonnaroo with "Hard to Imagine"

Meanwhile I'm watching Ben ####### Folds for some reason

ETA: All Night!? :loco:

ETAA: 3 hour show and a killer setlist. GDB missing that... damn you Blue Room..

So tons of talk on the pj boards about this already having the makings of the best tour ever. This will be my first northeast tour, and I'm extremely pumped for Camden. Not gonna be able to get #### done this week at work.

Think it has to do with there really not being any new songs to practice for the tour....so they decided to dig up some rareties. That plus Ed being able to do some expirimenting on the solo tour leads to just some kick ### pearl jam shows.

Although it won't compare to the Camden cornhole, I am hopefully going to meet regularguy tomorrow night at the Columbia show. That Bonnaroo setlist looks very good btw.

Is there a gameplan for the Friday cornhole? Things are logistically looking positive for me, so would love to hook up with some FBGs for some brews et al...
I think the only plan is that we will be tailgating. No specific time/location yet. We'll be doing the same thing on Thursday so we'll be able to get a good plan for Friday. PM me your cell info and I'll text you once we figure it all out.

GB getting Kanye in trouble

MANCHESTER, Tenn. - Kanye West's late night performance at Bonnaroo was delayed nearly two hours, angering the festival crowd who responded by chanting "Kanye sucks" and pelting the empty stage with glow sticks.

West had been scheduled to take the main stage at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival at 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning. While the sleepy thousands in the audience waited, a message on the jumbotrons told them West's show would be delayed until 3:15 a.m., and when that didn't happen, that he would start at 3:30. West didn't hit the stage until 4:25 a.m.

The delay was caused by problems setting up West's elaborate stage set, which included an interplanetary landscape of a wavy black platform with a slanted floor in the middle and a video screen above. West performed a spectacular galactic-themed concert complete with interaction with his spaceship, a disembodied female voice named Jane (a kind of sexier HAL).

Ken Weinstein, a spokesman for the annual festival held on a 700-acre site south of Nashville, said the delay was simply a matter of unloading the Pearl Jam stage (the band went an hour past its scheduled end time, playing until about 1:15 a.m.) and loading the West stage.

The festival, which boasted more than 150 acts spread out over four days, was otherwise very punctual. The West delay was all the worse because of its already very late schedule, and many campers lost energy before the concert and returned to their sleeping bags. Midway through his performance, the morning light showed that the crowd had dwindled substantially.

West had originally been slated to perform at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night, but requested a late night performance. At least in the first hour of his performance, West didn't address the crowd regarding the delay.

Later Sunday, the Bonnaroo crowd was still upset. Pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph criticized West for disappointing his fans. His comments inspired a "Kanye sucks" chant.

A spokesperson for West didn't immediately return a request for comment.

I think I like to torture myself.Another great sound check tonight.

Off He Goes x 2 (Instrumental only )Off He goes with LyricsEducationUndoneThin AirAll Night (riffs )All Night (full song)All night (riffs some lyrics etc. )love reign on me (riffs)All or None
And CAN'T KEEP leadoff!!!!!! ;)

Something happened to Ed's guitar during Off He Goes. Was throwing his hands up to the side of the stage during the song and they brought out another one. They exchanged as Ed was singing.

Three off No Code already. Probably my favorite set so far (excluding Bonaroo that doesn't count).

This is the show I was gonna go to with my buddy from Charlotte. He's loving this right now. He was hoping for a Code show when I talked to him earlier.

TU don't worry...it's getting better and better it seems.

First encore: Inside Job; Given To Fly; Education (YIKES)

WMADominating Florida shows tonight set-list-wise.
I've got a feeling that by the end of this tour that Bonaroo won't be the best show they played.
Will be tough. Very possible though...maybe the last show. The issue with the multi show cities is they could spread the love over two nights...two great shows. Look at them alone and they might not top one Bonaroo. Quality is a different story...just talking set lists here.

Probable end to encore 1

I was just looking over Bonaroo and tonight is right there, maybe better. Bonaroo just had to be awesome to be at and has the trump cards of All Night (first), WMA (first since 95) and a late show Release (first since 94 or something like that).
