Anyone thinking about taking in the 1:00pm Flyers game on 10/31? Just noticed that is the game time.

Also, World Series will be in the National League city 10/31 and 11/1. They moved that Eagles game Sunday from 4:00 to 1:00 already.

Halloween duty calls, but will wrap up/hand off late morning/early afternoon.What's the tailgating game plan (just the 10/30-31 shows for me, but assuming there's a plan for all 4 nights)?
 
I need to compile a little list of my "eyes in the lot" for next Friday. If you are interested, PM me, and we can exchange digits.

Also, not a big scalper here...how do I know the tickets are for real? I know a few people that paid $200/ticket for the OSU/Toledo game in Cleveland from a street scalper and got denied at the gate. SOL.

Never done this before, but I have heard you can take the tickets to a gate to be scanned for validity. Of course, that likely means you are buying in the box office area only, as I doubt anyone is going to walk from the parking lots up there with you. But, better to know you have a valid ticket, right?

some venues allow you to check the legitimacy of your tickets before you enter, assuming the seller is willing to walk to the arena with you No idea if the Spectrum does thatOther than that, it's usually just the feeling you get from the seller and how the tix themselves lookI have passed on some tickets in lots before because they either looked dodgy or the person was shadyNot an exact science, but I've never been ripped off:thumbup:
 
In for all 4 shows. I could never miss a Philly show and be able to live with myself.

Our Tuesday tailgate is going to suck because there are only a small handful of us going, but the last 3 should be really good.

Will provide details over the weekend.

Shortly after I write this all hell breaks loose. Two people in the group now can only go Saturday to Sunday. The dude that is using my ticket is a huge Yanks fan :unsure: and is contemplating staying til Monday which means I'd be driving back Sunday solo. People drive me insane when they plan #### so poorly and at the last minute. What is the constant here...ME! I'll be there!

Been listening to the LA run the past couple of days. The band is on fire, IMO. I do have some concerns about Eddie's voice holding up through all 4 shows, but the energy should be amazing.

Say what you will about Philly, but they love their PJ.

Basically counting down the hours at this point.

 
I may be biased, but I think Philly has better crowds for PJ than New York. I've been to a handful of PJ shows at MSG and I don't see what is so special. Spectrum 2003 and Wachovia 2005 were both better crowd-wise, setlist-wise, and overall energy.

Lord know we have a better baseball team. Oh snap! Did I just say that? :thumbup:

I have only seen PJ in Philly in Camden, so I can't really compare.

That said, the energy at the MSG shows last year was sick, and when they play NY proper, that tends to be the standard.

Eager to see them at The Spectrum, as I have heard great things and know Philly is a great PJ town.

That said, there's a reason the DVD wasn't entitled Live at the Spectrum...

Alright boys...had a crazy idea of trying to pop up and just show up in the parking lot, and be like "what's up"....but that would require too much work.

Either way - I'm ####### in for Friday/Saturday!

BBWC said he might have a ticket for me on Saturday (10c tick, which would be awesome)......but if anyone can keep an ear open for me for either day....that would be awesome. I'm sure I'll find one eventually, but I dropped a little more on the flight than I wanted to, so I'd rather not play the scalper game if I don't have to.

Gonna be a ####### blast.....can't wait!

 
Stupid question but does anyone know what time PJ has been taking the stage.

I may have a championship game on Wednesday that can not be moved.

Just something to be aware of for anyone planning on using public transportation in Philly:

Philly transit OKs strike ahead of World SeriesBy The Associated PressOctober 25, 2009, 11:34PMPHILADELPHIA (AP) — Transit system workers in Philadelphia voted to authorize a union strike Sunday, less than a week before the Phillies play their first home game of the World Series, but a transit spokesman said he hopes a deal can be concluded before then.Willie Brown, president of the Transport Workers Union Local 234, said the 4,700 workers voted overwhelmingly to allow him to call a strike if negotiations with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority fail. Talks are slated to resume Monday.Brown said he hoped a walkout would not affect the series, but he said workers have been without a contract since March and have not had a raise since December."This is the last week we’re going to work without a contract," Brown said, while vowing to "leave no stone unturned" to reach a deal.SEPTA spokesman Richard Maloney said he hopes an accord can be reached quickly."We made a lot of progress last week, and there’s no reason why in next couple of days this shouldn’t be done," he said.A strike by subway and trolley operators, bus drivers, and mechanics would affect the Broad Street subway line from the center of Philadelphia 4 miles south to the sports stadiums. I wouldn't go nuts changing plans at this point since it is not 100% going to happen, but it's good to be aware of it so that some back up plans can be arranged

Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow. Lots of variables in play: the weather, the possible strike, what time we get in and get going, etc.

Gonna be sick! Crazy rumors flying around about Sat's show. Heard Bruce, Billy Joel, DMB. Also heard ushers are on call until 2 AM. If just 10% of these are even close to accurate, this is going to be one to remember.

Let's just hope Eddie's voice holds out!

Just left a VERY wet NYC via bus. Forecast kinda shaky for tonight.

Any word from Philly homers re: transit strike?

If the weather is crappy, I,m thinking we may hit McFaddens for pregaming. Give us a chance to get our tix, maybe see the opening act (never saw Bad Religion live), maybe even score some merch.

We'll see.

I thought it was Social D for tonight and tomorrow. Bad Religion is decent live but I think they are a band that you will enjoy more if you know their songs. Not sure what they would sound like to someone who is not into themEddie sung on two songs on their Recipe for hate album
 
Rain is supposed to move out of here in a bit. Should be good for tailgating tonight.

I'd go to McFaddens, but I dont feel like getting bent over for beers.

Vedder, I'm from NYC, overpaying for beer is unfortunately second nature to me at this point. If the weather clears, I'd definitely rather tailgate.

Ok, man. I think we're in the clear for tonight. Tomorrow night is a whole 'nother story. Gonna be miserable all day and night.

Looking great for Friday and Saturday tailgates with the exception of possible showers Saturday.
