Top 5 RB, that's his value right now.
And doubtful that anyone will offer anything near that value for him.
I agree that he is top 5 from here on out assuming health, and that's a huge assumption. But, going on the info at hand right now, he is as good a bet to finish top 5 as any other rb down the stretch. He is still probably going to be undervalued however, and for that reason you don't look to trade him. You trade other guys with the name value and keep horses like him on you squad. As far as the comparison goes, I definitely get flashback of a young Alstott when I watch Hillis run.

Depends on whether or not he gets tested before fantasy football playoffs. I have no doubt in my mind at all that this guy is on PED's. I'm not even a big accuser of steroids but this guy has all of the symptoms. You can ride him for now though.
For the uninitiated, would you please list a few of those symptoms?
Jaw line, muscle definition, look at him man, it's not natural. He wasn't even this big in Denver. Take one look at the guy and if you really need more proof, your oblivious. Look at a guy like Michael Turner or Brandon Jacobs and compare their definition to Peyton Hillis, he even looks like a classic Juicehead. Hillis Denver- http://fantasynuthouse.com/?p=118

Hillis Browns- http://bleacherreport.com/articles/469703-...-browns-use-him
That would be a sign. Sign is something you see. Symptom is something he would report he is experiencing.

So what is the consesus on his dynasty prospects?

Is he a top 12 RB next year? What are the potential hits to his value going into next year?

Stupid me...did I say RB2? HE IS MY RB1!!!

That offense goes through him. Who else is there? NO ONE. He is my solid RB2 and I am depending on him to take me far. I just hope he stays healthy.

FBGs rest of year projection ranks Hillis 6th w/ my scoring rules (PPR+ >100k yardage bonuses) but I don't see it - I see him having games left against some great run D's - Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Dolphins, Panthers and + a week against the Pats. Not exactly a creampuff schedule.

Anyone have any thoughts? He's averaging ~16pts/week with only one breakout game and no poor weeks.

What's the consensus on his value through the end of the year? I don't know if I can value him above Forte, Rice, Tomlinson, McFadden, Best etc but if the consensus disagrees I might be persuaded.

Racist

Very confused about this guys dynasty prospects. Trying to get him for Best and Fitzgerald right now but I just dont know what next year will bring. And the way he is running through the league it seems like it would be ridiculous for him not to be featured next year as well, but I was saying the same watching Charles down the stretch last year.

I can say I dont think Hardesty will be the guy to push him. Never viewed him as starting rb material in the pros.

just got him for j best straight up in .5ppr dynasty
For this year, if you have Hillis, I think that you keep him unless someone trades you an MJD or higher. As someone mentioned earlier, he is CLE's offense right now - he opens up the offense for McCoy and there is no one who is competing with him for touches. However, in Keeper or Dynasty leagues, you have a quandry. Assuming that McCoy continues on a reasonably good streak, the CLE coaching/GM should look to draft or pick-up some real WRs and a TE for 2011. If that happens, Hillis will get fewer touches, but still may remain the core of the running game, esp he can stay healthy. Clearly, CLE believes this because they traded away their previous #1 (Harrison) for Mike Bell. As for the juicing and race charges, I would recommend that everyone sticks to the facts. He is good, tough runner since his time in Arkansas, but just have not been given this type of opportunity. This is his chance and his is - literally - running with it. Instead of being haters, let's congratulate the guy on what he is doing: namely making people interested in Cleveland again in a serious way!

You offered Best and Fitz for Hillis in dynasty and were rejected?

Still massaging the details but the Hillis owner is hesitant. Thats the jist of the deal but thats not it...there are some lower level guys involved and some offseason considerations.

This guy is so athletic for his size. He's also one of the best receiving backs in the NFL. It's getting to the point where you have to consider him as one of the best RBs in the NFL, if not the best.

And he does it without the benefit of a great offense.

Amazing to think with all the hype surrounding McFadden & Felix that it was the FB that may be the best of the bunch.

Out of all the goofs McDaniels has made (including with the DB now with Detroit), this one is the biggest by far. That #12 pick wasted with Moreno (IMO) could have been used elsewhere to have filled more needed roles.

instead of worrying about the Moreno pick, why not mention trading Hillis for Quinn and then using another 1st round pick on Tebow? Pretty weird.

I picked him in the last round of our draft this year, making him an ultra-cheap keeper. In theory I'll be able to keep him for years. I should be thrilled, and yet I'm terrified of the guy.

He seems to take three big hits on every run. I keep waiting for him to eventually take enough damage and just explode into a smoking pile of ash like the running back in Cyberball.

The bolded part (denoting dealing Hillis is McDaniels biggest blunder)Hillis @ RB.....you furthermore don't waste that 12 pick on Moreno.

most teams use multiple RBs these days. he traded away Hillis for a 3rd string QB and then burned another 1st rounder on a QB who won't start until probably 2012 at the earliest.

Moreno was one of the biggest draft reaches at RB in years IMO. (Since Lynch in Buffalo) Marginal talent with a lot of college hype. Broncos defensive needs at the time of that draft were glaring. (Anyone that saw the the shape of the Broncos defense in the 2008 season will remember that. Probably the worst defensive effort I've seen in the last 10-15 years)RB is the easiest position to fill in the league. (And you can do so by using a rotation as you mention above)

----------------------

That Hillis has arguably become one of the top RB's in the league only highlights that Moreno (who can't stay healthy/doesn't show much when he is) blunder.

To this point Hillis might be my greatest draft choice ever. I will be thoroughly enjoying his two-year contract if he stays healthy. He is definitely fun to root for because of the type of back he is. His incredible pass-catching ability is what takes him to a whole new level.

The Browns' fans in my league hate me.

He's a must start RB1 for the rest of the year. What's really interesting to me is where he will be ranked in redrafts next year or in dynasty moving forward.

I started a similar thread about 2 weeks ago. He is clearly a first round pick next year without a doubt. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread he likes hillis in a td heavy league. Fyi he is just as productive in ppr.

Hillis gets my vote for mvp of the league!

Looking ahead with the playoffs starting (and I know I'm not the only one)...

Anybody else scared to death to start him in W16 vs. Baltimore? I know he had 144 and a TD in the first meeting, but I can't see the Ravens letting that happen again. If the guy has carried you this far, it's hard to sit him in week 16. But if you have another viable option with a better matchup, you have to at least think about it pretty hard. No?

He is, but this is a guy I could easily see ending up being a way overvalued, especially in PPR leagues (all of mine are, so could easily be my bias). He has so many receptions that even on bad rushing weeks, he has been great. He has around 162 points running and in PPR, another 112 points receiving. He broke out in weeks 3 and 4. After that, he has had 2 great games, 2 good games and 4 bad games running. In PPR leagues, he has added somewhere from 1-4 "rushing TDs" each week due to his receiving masking his bad rushing games.I just don't think he will get as much receiving as he will next year. Ben Watson has been serviceable, but I can't recall their other WR/TEs doing anything. McCoy got hurt, Delhomme was hurt, Wallace was hurt. Their passing game has been Hillis and Hillis. I think that Cleveland's passing game will be better (hard to be worse) next year and spread it around a little more. Also, the second leading non-QB rusher is Mike Bell with 16 carries. Hillis is definitely not overworked rushing wise (should end up around 300 carries), but he will probably get to 400 or so touches overall with the next RB getting 20 or so touches.Call it a feeling, but I think he will A) get more RB help next year, B) get less receptions and C) be more of a focal point of DCs in the off season. Of course, he is their game plan right now, but just for that week, DCs aren't creating new schemes like I think they can in the off season. One last note, Hillis only played Baltimore and Pitt once in weeks 1-15. If he plays them both during the season, it will have a greater impact on his stats. Yes, I know he killed Baltimore, but something tells me they weren't ready for his breakout week. They are always a solid run defense, and I would look to week 16 to see more of what we might see next year than week 3.Oh well, he has been great this year, wish I had him, but I can't help thinking that he will under achieve next year with respect to draft position. I think he is still a solid RB, but if he is considered a top 5 RB, he goes in the top 6 or 7 picks and I would be afraid to grab him there considering he was the #1 receiver and got 95% of the RB touches. I just can't see how he can do better, but I can easily see how he does worse.

He's a big part of my team but i just have a feeling he is dying down...i'm pulling him next week vs. balt

on the fence if i should start him this week v balt..

he had a great game last time, its in cle, he is due for a better week... etc...

So the numbers haven't been great, but how has he looked the last two games? Are defenses just keying on him, or has he been showing signs of wear?

The first Baltimore game was Hillis's coming out party. In the first half, he caught the Ravens totally off guard and rushed 12 times for 72 yards.

At halftime, they adjusted and totally shut him down - with one big exception. He did bust off a huge 48-yard run, but otherwise he had 9 carries for 23 yards. I'm not saying to throw out the big run, but I am making the point that once Baltimore realized Cleveland intended to pound the ball with Hillis, they adjusted and did a great job of limiting him, except for that one run.

His recent decline, coupled with the fact that Baltimore will be ready for him and did a good job of limiting him later in their first match-up, have me thinking it's going to be another tough week for Hillis owners (of which I am one).

Now this is tough. Hillis has been matchup proof and he burned Baltimore in their first matchup. Cleveland is sucking hardcore right now though.

either way its bad. cleveland doesn't have a good enough offense to take the focus off of hillis

I'm inclined to live and die by the guy since he got me to the big game but with viable fillers, such as Torain and Stewart, sitting on my bench...it will be a tough decision.

Stewart draws PITT this Thursday but Torain goes against JAX.

Ya, it will be a tough call for a lot of us. I have Bradshaw, Hillis and S. Jackson. It's not like they have great matchups either though. Will have to think long and hard about it.

I'm inclined to bench him for SJax. Curious what other people's thoughts on Hillis are though.
i start 3 out ofAPblounthillisstewartlynchturnerI have rode hilllis to the championship for sure but I am looking at starting blount over him this week along with AP and Turner
