***Official Sirius NFL*** (1 Viewer)

Got Sirius for Christmas & almost exclusively listen to #124.

I think I like Bob Popma on the opening drive the best.

Adam Shine annoys me the way he acts like he knows evey caller & he tells every caller they make a great point. :X
:goodposting: That and Riggins couldn't follow a subject line to save his life. All the last election talk about how Kerry was "flip flopping" and I couldn't help thinking that he had nothing on Riggins. He'll start a commentary on player X and talk himself in and out of liking his chances 4 times each before Shien cuts him off because of the Ultra busy phones. Worst part about it is I'm stuck with these two yayhoos morning (repeat) and night drives (Hour each way).

You'd think the NFL could afford to run 24 hr ops.

Kerwin, Ryan (Rhino) and Sharpe all do a great job of telling it like it is. Lunch time almost makes up for drive time.

Couple of times during the season I worked late on purpose or found a reason to go out AM Sat. to just catch the Caplan show.

Hopefully DirecTV will put him back on the tube. His show with Jaws and whathisname was pretty insightful season before this. Nothing on TV at all this year.

Two questions:

1) Why isn't "The Red Zone" on anymore?

2) Did Riggo get bounced from the Blitz, or is he just on a long vacation?

"Fantastic point"; "Hit it out of the park with that one" ; "Unbelievable call" - I like Adam but he has to tone it down a bit. At least there is a place for NFL talk these days - 24 hr baseball on WFAN starts next week!

They have got to do something about the morning show. Pappa and Banks are brutal and with Stern on now, I have no good reason to even check out 124 anymore.

Comes back in the fall. Off-season programming is in effect.

Most of the full-timers are off for the next few months.

I am a huge supporter of Sirius NFL Radio. All my buddies (in and out of fantasy leagues) have it. We talk about it constantly and immitate some of the talent/ callers.

In fact, Adam Schein (Afternoon Blitz) was nice enough to do an interview with our website this past season: http://www.fantasytailgate.com/WATCHDOG.html

I do have to admit though, Sirius has it's share of "homers." Bob Papa clearly does not remain objective. He's such a Giants fan his comments tend to bleed blue from time to time.

 Schein is just as bad in the afternoon.

Did anyone else catch "P.A. and Dubay" on Saturday mornings? They haven't been on the past two weekends, but those guys were a nice breath of fresh air when I caught them a few weeks prior.

:P That Caplan guy is pretty good though
On that note, I'm hosting on channel 124 from 2-6pm est on Saturday with Solomon Wilcots.
Big fan of SollyAnd what the hell is going on with Cross? Did he buy the station recently and put himself on every show?

Riggins, Sharpe, and Carter take the spring time off so Cross and Wilcots are getting a lot more air time.

Sounds to me like Riggo's vacation from Sirius might be permanent. (Thank God)... A caller asked Schein yesterday where Riggins has been, and he replied that "Riggo is pursuing other opportunities."

The lifetime plan is extended to July 2006. I might just have to save up for it. I was open to buying it before buy now might be a good investment as well. What I want is a totally portable radio though... no saving shows and listening to them later. Or a decent portable car radio to home radio would do as well as an alternative.

Bob Papa seems like a nice enough guy, but could they get someone (ANYONE???) with a little more pep-in-the-step to host the Opening Drive? The guy is painfully boring, and when he is paired with the equally-boring Carl Banks, it's all I can do to not drive off the road in the morning.

Same here. The few "portable" units I've seen so far are pretty poor. They get a good portable unit and I'm signing up for the lifetime as well.

I'm just glad John Riggins is gone. He was horrible filling in.

What they need is to make a deal with Apple or something to have a Sirius/iPod hybrid. That would rule. Or something like it that is just not meant for radio.

I have sirius, love the NFL channel, I like the live content. Sucks that it isn't REALLY 24 hours a day. The night time is just a repeat of the morning and afternoon shows, unlike the other channels that are truely 24 hours a day. I also hate the fact that it isn't commercial free but hey, it is a channel dedicated to the friggin NFL, I love it.

Oh and the afternoon Blitz might be the best program on, on any channel, bar none.
I could not stand Adam Schein when I first heard him. His voice took "annoying" to a whole new level. But once I calmed down and listened to what he was saying rather than how he was delivering it, I began to appreciate his knowledge of, and passion for football. I even e-mailed him to tell him that story. He does write back, BTW. He's a really good guy.Makes it even sweeter now that Riggo is gone. He brought nothing to the table.

Riggins I believe is working for a station in Washington.Daryl Johnston has been working the last few weeks, he's pretty solid.

I'm hosting their pre-draft show on Thursday from 8-11 pm est. Beat reporters from the 30 teams picking in the first round will be making picks and giving us info on where each team will go as the draft progresses.

Shine and Wilcots were on NO hard this week, can't wait for The Afternoon Blitz tomorrow.

BTW, Wilcots is a GREAT add the the Blitz.

I listen to NFL radio about 90% of the time that I'm listening to the radio. I really only listen for the news, games, scores, updates, etc because I find most of the on-air personalities annoying and their insight weak/off-base a lot.

:coffee: Yet I will be listening again tomorrow.

I think it will go something like this:Shine: "Solly WHAT HAPPENED to New Orleans last night?"Solly makes up some lame excuse why his predictions were totally off.Shine: "Solly, I couldn't agree with you more. Let's get back to the altra busy phones....."
