agree. Wilder is an outside fighter & it has served him well. Problem is Fury is an outside fighter & has a longer reach. Wilder has to get inside that reach & stay on his chest. Problem is---he is not that type of fighter. I respect Wilder as a man who ducks no one & wants to fight. he can't beat Fury though. IMHO
the entrance to the ring by both fighters was gross. show some class; this is not wrestling.

Actually imo wilder is better on the outside. But with fury coming inside this fight he needs to adjust. I thought wilder was getting to fury in round two and thought if that continued he would put him down. Obviously that did not happen because after he got that hit he was simply unable to do anything.
im so curious to see how a third would go.
i hope fury Joshua happens first though.
A third would go like the first two have. Fury being the busier fighter with Wilder looking for the one-punch knockdown/knockout and being unable to keep Fury away from him.
Fury/Wilder 3 likely happens in the Fall of 2020.
Joshua has two mandatory defenses in the meantime.

I do agree. It will go the same(hell i predicted fury would be winning on points but that wilder would catch her in the 10th). Though that doesn’t mean he can’t land his shot next fight. i don’t think the third fight he would be hit and rendered useless due to his equilibrium being off. That’s kind of a rarity imo. Not saying fury won’t win the third he’s def favored. And by a lot.

I liked the entrances... If the walkout gear weighs too much, wear something else; this was his decision, and honestly, wearing a 45 pound costume for 15 minutes shouldn't really throw you off at 230.
I've heard too many excuses and nonsense. The towel, the costume, equilibrium, blah blah blah. I felt like Fury won the first fight, he left no stone unturned in the 2nd fight... It was a thorough beating, and without the towel being thrown in, guy might've never fought again. He'll get his chance for revenge when the time comes, until then, shut up and own it.

Fury kicked his ### and won deservingly. My point is that a rematch wouldn’t necessarily be the huge blowout this fight was. Like say the Packers played the Bears and in the first quarter, Mack hits Rogers and knocks him out of the game. Without Rogers, Green Bay can’t do anything on offense and the Bears win 24-3. That doesn’t take anything away from the Bears, they got to the QB and won the game. the whole point of the pugilistic gig is to incapacitate via punches.

Yes. You are. Lets say this was a 3rd round knock out. In the heavyweights this stuff happens. We would all say nice work. Can he do it again? This was basically that. the way he disoriented him is quite rare. Usually you get knocked down but can get your orientation back within a round or two. This was different. And the susequent beating that occured was during that point when really wilder was incapacitated. So this might as well had been a 3rd round KO.
The point is, a third fight would still be interesting because its highly unlikely he would render him useless and unable to stand and balance like he did in this fight again. Its likely he might outbox him. But unlikely he does what he did in this one. ANd if he does, then it settles it. But the first fight was very very close. So the whole point a few of us have made is simply that a third fight is warranted. It takes nothing away from fury and his win by massive beatdown.

I think it’s the “but” part I would disagree with. It’s more of a “because”. We are just explaining how we think he was able to absolutely blow Wilder out for those last 4 or 5 rounds.

Agreed. There are alot of folks reading that arent as familiar with boxing. So its more explaining what we saw. No excuses. Ive seen stuff on other boards where people think Wilder is like a bum who never beat anyone meanwhile dude is an Olympian. The division is just fine and we should be blessed we have a few great heavyweights to fight each other. Now lets hope they actually fight each other!

i'm pretty familiar with boxing, my friend ... just not familiar with hearing caveats when a boxer pummels an opponent - park your condescension elsewhere.
all because i don't hang in the thread doesn't mean i don't know the sport ... been a fan since the early 80s, and i understand plenty.
boxed a bit myself (never pro), and one of my oldest friends is a lifelong boxer/trainer ... he still runs charity events, most recently with Mark Medal (have known the Champ some 25 yrs).
my favorite boxers of the era i loved were Alexis Arguello and Hearns. just lost interest over the years ... #### happens.
... but, last i checked, landing incapacitating punches was still kinda a "good" thing, no?

Ok dude. I wasn’t saying you knew nothing. Just stating my point. I feel like we are missing each other’s points.
incapacitating another fighter is great and your goal. But the manner in which he did imo comes from a very lucky shot placement and is not something that i see happen often. That’s my point. Maybe you disagree? That’s ok too.

Agreed. I don't think Fury wins 10 times out of 10. He might not even win 7 times out of 10. Anytime you suffer some sort of bad cut (Fury), concussion (AJ against Ruiz, Parker against Whyte), broken bone (Inoue vs Donaire) or loss of equilibrium, you're going to be x% of your normal self. Fury was at about 75-80% after he got cut by Wallin, IMO. Wilder was at about 20% of his normal self after Wilder hit him with the right early in the third round.
That said, because of his limited skillset, Wilder's a much less adaptive fighter than Fury, Joshua, or Usyk. How he's going to deal with being bossed inside by a larger man is a very open question.

Only had the one loss to Barrera but it was definitely either leg stiffness or a sprained ankle suffered while doing a front flip into the ring.
Jokes aside, Prince Naseem was the best show in boxing during his short 10 year career. Wild entrances, weird antics, cocky heel persona, non stop taunting, always aggressive and thundering 1 punch KO power.

Roy Jones Jr on Rogan yesterday was a REALLY good listen.
I’ve always liked Roy even though he made me eat crow in front of all my friends when he demolished James Toney. I didn’t know who Roy was and he was talking so much smack. At that time you didn’t talk smack to James Toney. I told everyone that this loud kid was about to get his stuff pushed in. Booooy was I wrong. I had never seen anything like Roy and what he did that night.
I loved me some Sweet Pea but this was on another level.

Michigan brewery called Arvon that makes some top notch IPAs. Not sure, thought I read on Twitter there were actually some good fights on it. I’ll switch back and forth between that and Bama-UGA. Finally feels like a real fall Saturday.
