Man that fight could have been stopped a lot earlier.
I've been going back and forth a bit.  Santana's corner should've thrown the towel, but I don't really hate the ref for letting it go.  Santana was following the ref's commands after the knockdowns, and I think the ref didn't see him uneasy on his feet at the end of the 9th.  He could've reasonably stopped it after that knockdown in the early 10th, but he let it go and stopped it pretty much immediately thereafter.  It was mayyyyybe a little late in my book, but not egregious.  But I could see how others would see it otherwise.

Yeah, Garcia is past his prime but he's no jabroni
Id say late prime for Danny, but hes an overachiever to me. Hes solid, but im surprised he only has 2 losses right now. At this point, id think hes a guy with 5-6 losses, but hes had a few nice wins

Danny is gonna be game.  He knows this is his big shot.  Probably his last big shot unless he gets Bud.

Cant wait!  Should be a good one!  Lets go ERROL!!!

Thats why his record is so nice, im sure he fights well even if in loss tonight.

Im shocked by their ages though. I thought Garcia was close to 35 & Spence was close to 27..but naw, 32 and 30

Looks pretty focused to me.  getting his feel.
Looks fine once the fight started. Pre-fight, not so much. However, I don't recall how he usually looked pre-fight so that just could be his usual demeanor. That kind of reading of the tea leaves is meaningless really. One doesn't have to be 1989 Tyson pre-fight serial killer mode to be a world champion in the ring.

he definitely looks different especially leading up and it concerned me.  But i think thats just him now.  will know soon if it affects him in the ring.

Yeah that car wreck looked nasty. That kind of thing worries me but I also worked for several years at a summer camp for kids who had traumatic brain injuries from car accidents so I might be a bit pre-disposed to expect the worst from those situations.

I actually disagree with all of these announcers saying Garcia should have started faster and needs to come out hot. I think he should fight in the style he is most comfortable with and fight his way.

Funny when announcers are like, "Garcia needs to create action. He can't just sit back and wait to attack," That's like saying, Duncan Robinson shouldn't just sit back and wait for open 3s, he needs to attack the rim. That just isn't his game and it's not something he can do. It's why Robinson and Garcia are limited.

11-1. 8-4 is the absolute closest i can see this.  I dont think Errol even looked at his 100% best.  Id like one more before Bud.

If im guessing.  Garcia and Thurman will fight again.  Id LOVE to see Porter fight bud and he is the mandatory.  I think Errol will fight Manny.  Its a big payday and a good prep for bud.

That went sbout as close as i expected..Garcia a great gatekeeper, Spence legit p4p special
pretty much.  Im very impressed that Spence took Garcia as his tuneup when he could have taken a legit tune up.  Just shows how confident he is.  I think Garcias mistake was he was waiting for Spence to make a mistake.  But Spence wasnt going to make a big enough one for him to land and drop him.  And he wasnt going to outbox Spence.  He should have went for it even if that meant getting dropped.
