***Official Sweet Science Thread*** (9 Viewers)

Thread has been quiet for awhile...especially considering the last few weeks have had some seriously awesome fights ( guys tell me you saw Rios v Alvarado and Guerrero v Berto). Miguel Cotto fighting Austin Trout at MSG tonight and it is not PPV, just regular Showtime. Anyone else in?

Feels like forever since I've sat down to devote myself to watching the Sat night fights. CFB starting to wind down....time for some boxing tonight.

Unfortunately I'm out of town next weekend for the Pac fight.

Damn 119-109, 117-111, 117-111? I thought I had it a bit lopsided at 116-112, I was expecting a split decision for Trout.

I think it's a deserved result, but wasn't expecting it so lopsided.

Thanks for brining this one to my attention. Forgot it was on but thoroughly enjoyed the last six rounds.

Trout looked very good. Considering, Mayweather and Cotto were the only two guys to legitimately beat Cotto, this really speaks to the talent of Trout. I hope he gets the fight with Canelo because that would be a great fight.

If you can go to YouTube or if HBO puts Rios v Alvarado back onDemand, you need to watch that. FOTY and some called it the best fight in 10 years. It was Gatti-Ward, Castillo-Corrales good.

Even though boxing is still very under the radar, 2012 will go down IMO as one of the best years of fights in a long time. There are so many good fights to be made still, this is a real renaissance for boxing. There are some great young fighters coming up right now.

Boxing is making it's return to major tv. Last night ESPN2 showed Pac vs JMM 1,2, and 3 followed by 2 episodes of 24/7. December 15, CBS will carry boxing for the first time in many, many years. They have a few recent American Olympians and Leo Santa Cruz (love this guy, true warrior) as a lead in to Showtime's Amir Khan fight. Then on December 22, NBC will carry a boxing card as well.

Tons of hype for tonight's Pac v Marquez fight. The trendy pick is Marquez getting a deserved win. Anyone watching?

He roided up to make sure of it (imo). For better or worse I know more about ped'd's than most, and id bet my kids that Marquez is on the sauce for this one. It's a shame.

That s what everyone us saying. Also, Manny is the heaviest he has ever been for a fight. Marquez line moved a lot in the last 24 hours. Also, how funny is Mitt Romney? Dude visits Manny in his lockerroom and says, "hi, I'm Mitt Romney. I ran for president and lost.". Ummm...ok?

The Romeny thing was pretty rad. lolBut yea, Marquez def sauced up for the KO. I would literally (i mean that) bet my life on it. Maybe he just felt he had to finish it once and for all (feeling slighted?) But I got Marquez by PED aided stoppage. Manny will show heart though. Karma maybe.

PacMan loses and we won't have PacMan/PBF or even PacMan/Bradley...so, for Arum Incorporated...I can't see any other result but PacMan winning...unless this is Arum saying goodbye to PacMan.

You know you've been watching a lot of MMA when there's a knockdown and you get confused when the other fighter doesn't jump on him and start pounding.

Marquez obviously on steroids. Manny clearly off. He's noticeably smaller in the upper body than he was a few years ago.

I disagree...I think PacMan is obviously cycling again...he's got snap and quickness he hasn't had in his last three fights.
