It'll be interesting to see what Vargas does next. For a skilled up-and-coming guy the normal MO is to avoid tricky fights, get belts, and then maybe move up. Salido's a tricky fight, but maybe he takes a detour and tries to create another Ward-Gatti-type saga. Ultimately that might do more for his career (and pocketbook) than fighting maybe any other 130.

 
Heading to Canastota NY to the Boxing hall of fame induction ....so many great fighters will be on hand ...Hagler ...Sugar Ray...Boom Boom Mancini to just name a few

well it cost me around 500 bucks for 3 days  ...but we drive 4 hours to get there ...the most expensive thing is the banquet of champions ...its like a 135 bucks ...the golf tournament isnt that bad ...30 bucks / my buddy puts it all  on his credit card and i just pay him half for everything including the room ...the funnest part is going to the bar Grazianos across the street from the hall of fame ...drinking beers and shots with guys like Micky ward and dicky eklund...the spinks brothers ...ray mercer ...aaron Pryor...and so many more ...best time ive ever had doing anything

Where's the best place on the net to see a schedule of the major matches/title bouts?

I use Bad Left Hook a lot for previews, schedules, etc. 

Fyi: If yr looking up a fight on youtube, use (last name) (last name) full fight, adjust the date uploaded to include fight night, and order them by rating. Usually works pretty well.

Also better search functionality on laptop than, for me, the ps3 youtube app. So i usually chromecast from my laptop.

I know the fans can be overwhelming at times ...a fighter walks thru a door and 100 people rush at him to get an autograph or a pic ...and the worst are the ones who bring 50 of the same pics to have signed so they can sell them later . I can see how that might aggravate some of the fighters ...but thats what this whole weekend is about...meeting the fans and recognizing the great fighters...some of them really get it...Like Micheal Spinks and Leon...Micky Ward ...guys like that love going to BHOF weekend  ...all i ever want is to meet them..shake a hand and get a pic This is the only pic i ever had signed but it was because im in it with Micky Ward and Tony Weeks . So if you dont want to meet the fans who adore you dont attend this event...or at the very least dont get #### faced and act like a jerk lol

 
Canelo/GGG put off until Fall 2017 at the earliest. Apparently Canelo needs to "build up" to 160, and apparently plans to fight for a 154 belt next. :lmao: :lmao:

On the upside, Thurman/Porter should be pretty good, and real good by free TV standards.

Alvarez vs. Liam Smith is official for September. In Vegas, for Smith's 154 WBO belt. One. Fifty. Four. 

The good news is that from what I can tell, Canelo's getting rightly savaged on Twitter/Facebook. It's obvious what DLH is trying to do here, but I don't think he counted on the backlash being so strong. Hopefully Canelo's PPV numbers tank (I have to imagine that Smith will not do as well as Khan) and it'll hasten the Golovkin fight.

Golovkin looks like he's all but signed for Eubank Jr. later in the year. Eubank's no Canelo, but he's not a bad 160 and he can pop.

 
Gotta hope the boxing fans band together and refuse to buy that Canelo fight.

I think he could've saved some face if he fought a real 160. Lemieux, or Saunders. Or Jacobs. Claim you're getting accustomed to fighting at a full 160, get in the ring with some true middleweights that can bang, and if you can get Saunders, get his belt so you can unify all four with GGG. I think GBP could've sold that.

But saying you need time to build up to 160, and then taking a fight at 154. And not even a tough 154, that ####'s embarrassing. And everyone's seeing right through it, thankfully.

 
I bet porter too, but very small. Theyre both off long layoffs, so who knows. If porter can avoid the bomb, his level of activity could possibly carry the judges.
