Glad I downloaded it and watched it alone. Holy cow were some of those experiences touching to say the least. It was also "disturbing" to see how some people reacted to the returning men. I know the parents and people were not in full understanding of what they went through and all but how naive they were was something else.
Sledge, I wish he were still alive. I would not mind having a cup of coffee with that guy even if we were silent the whole time. GB all of them.
The only character I did not like much was the sarcastic, dry talker. The guy who did not speak to his fellow veterans for 35 years until reading Sledge's book. I guess I did not like him much because I know his actions and reactions to everything that was shown by him, even the 35 years of silence, is how I would react to the whole situation. Probably nothing out there but I would not mind knowing more about that guy.
I won't say The Pacific is better than Band of Brothers but I sure learned more from The Pacific. Kudos to Hanks and whomever else for, what I know, depicting the war accurately as possible.
