***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread***

The biggest thing I worry about is the possibility of Darryl playing the 'Tyreese' role in the TV show. He's by far my favorite character right now.

Hoping they show more of the Micchone and Andrea stuff too, but the previews suggest that will happen soon.
:X agreed. i thought there was talk of them bringing in tyreese, and i thought maybe they would try to make him one of the prisoners (or they could use "Lee" from the video game they made). i like tyreese a ton too, but introducing him now would be strange

stop with the tyrese spoiler bull####
sorry, but i have to say that at this point if they introduce any kind of tyrese character it would be different than the comic. even if they brought in some tyreese guy it would be pure guessing at his role

Was hoping "The Governor" was an actual governor, not some ruthless hillbilly whitetrash guy who likes dead heads in his fish tank.

Was thinking the Governor's wife and daughter, as zombies, were going to be chained up in the back room.
Would you people PLEASE stop posting crap from the comics? I don't care how trivial you think it is. If it's not in the show, don't freaking put it out there without spoiler tags. How hard is this?

Im assuming hes talking about the show and the Governor's pic of his wife & daughter.

2 questions that maybe I missed because I was pretty drunk

1. Why were Andrea and Michonne hiding from the Gov and his crew from the beginning? Did they give a reason or were they just being paranoid or whatever?

2. Did someone allude to the fact that the town could still get overran by walkers?

I effing love the fact that they are finally focusing on figuring out the details of the zombies.

:lmao: at that ending.
wtf was that?
He appears to have a slight mental issue.
Well that was a nice little cliff hanger with the governor. Dude is all sorts of crazy.
Seemed to be some sort of "trophy" room.. Yet he seemed perplexed seeing the Pilot's head on top.. Guessing one of the many heads "preserved" was his wife & daughter but they didn't stay on them long enough to be sure. As for him being "all kinds of crazy"....He'd have to be to have Merle follow his commands.. even when they were taking out the troops Merle had this  look in his eyes.

He looked at the picture on the mantle of his wife and daughter, and then went back into the secret room. I was thinking the same thing.

1. Paranoid. I think that during the zombie apocalypse it would make sense for two women to be wary of a gang of strange men with guns. 2. Yes. Andrea did.

:goodposting: Figured they were in the room.. I was thinking he might be going "Herschel" on us thinking he might be able to fix them..

Thanksthat makes senseSo we are supposed to believe that the town isnt as safe as it appears? Interesting

I know they had to introduce this new set of characters, but I was kind of 'meh' on the episode. I think the Governor will be an interesting villain though. Looking forward to the first Rick/Governor clash.

I'm interested in seeing how they connect the Governor's group and Rick's group. Right now they have no way of making contact with one another, unlike the comics.

Anyone else get a Seinfeld Bizzaro world feeling with the National Guard scene?
ha my GF said the same thing! her exact words were "its like the bizzaro seinfeld episode"
Right? They had the younger asian guy (ala Glen), the large black guy that didn't say much (ala T-Dog), the crazy redneck (ala Daryl), the ruthless killer (ala Shane). Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed it.

That thought crossed my mind as well but was also wondering if he had a TV there with the soft blue light shining back on his face before the reveal.

I wonder if they will talk about how Rick and his crew never ran into any one else. Seems unlikely since there are more people out there and with choppers.

Except there was the person watching Carol practice surgery on the walker in the last episode. That could have been a scout from the Govenor's group. Also the Govenor talked about finding out from Andrea the location of the farm they were on. That could get them close to the prison.Do you guys think/know if Randall from last season was part of the Govenor's group? I can't remember what either Randall or the two guys in the bar that Rick killed said about their group. I am assuming they were part of the Govenor's group.

That was a "spoiler" as it was in the previews for next week.
Merle tells the Governor.. I was able to find out from Andrea the location of the farm.

Makes sense. My apologies Daywalker. People are a little too loose throwing out tidbits from the comics, my bad.

If I was a betting man, I would say that town is going to take an ### kicking eventually.

Did anyone else get a Star Trek'y vibe from this episode? The town that looks and acts normal but is not all that it appears.

Little slow moving but I think it was necessary to introduce The Governor and Woodbury and present the appearance of a tranquil environment.

TONS of comparisons between The Governor's group and Rick's. Some have been mentioned but the first I noticed was when Andrea and Michonne were blindfolded and taken to Woodbury. That's the same thing Rick did with Randall. I think one of the key storylines we'll see going forward is comparing and contrasting Rick's leadership vs. The Governor's and the two separate worlds they preside over.

The Governor's definitely unhinged. Can't wait for him and Rick to clash.

The scientist dude is also not all there. Sure seems to like his tea. :lmao:

I think the governor is unhinged because of a conversation Andrea and Michonne had. Michonne had to kill her two zombies but they were related to her and she was not right. I think the governor had to do the same thing to his wife and kid. He had to kill them after they turned.

Didn't really care for the episode. Seems like the existence of not one but two different groups of survivors had little to no effect in the women. I like that there's ambiguity about the Gov's intentions but also that the weird head collection came too soon. The s ientist and the tea seem like they're being overplayed. Dunno, maybe because there was no one doing anything completely stupid.

A viewer question asked, “What is the deal with the tea?” Alpert revealed, “Well, it’s a bit of a little inside joke. One of the writers on the show has a very…he always wears a jacket and tie, and he’s always sort of drinking tea. And I think it’s a little bit of a nod to one of the writers in the room. I’m not going to name his name, but there’s a little guy in the room that does that.”

Is something going on with the tea?
Tea? What tea? Did they mention or show tea at all in this episode?
on the Talking Dead the EP (David Alpert) said the tea was an inside joke
