Just watched the first episode of the Rick and Michonne thing.
This one might actually be worth watching.
Hmmm.. I found it kind of all over the place ramblings.. I'm dreaming, I'm back 5 years, I'm in the present, wait back to dream...
Unlike the Daryl spinoff that had me "all in" after episode, this one has me

Well, they did have to account for like the past 7 years in one episode.
Only a few short dream scenes. Hopefully they were obvious to you at the time, lol

Well yea.. He had his hand ;)

and Rick Grimes is back

time to start talking about how the grass gets mowed again
Wait... What?
They are knee deep into the spinoffs.
Negan and Maggy went to NYC. Then Darryl went to Europe. Now it's Rick's and Michonne's turn.
Daryl story was very good, looking forward to season two. Negan and Maggy continuing their love/hate relationship gets old.
Recorded Rick and Michonne reunite so will watch tonight to see where it fits in the spinoff realm
Wait - are you saying Maggie gets with Negan? After (spoilers) he EFFING KILLED her soul mate Glenn? Maggie? No way.

Hooks up or otherwise gets romantically involved with. Or even friendly with in a platonic type way.

None of that happens

Love/hate in more of a Love to hate, but need Maggie needs Negan.. And with the things went in the real season I wouldn't be shocked if they turned the bad spinoff into a live story. ;)

The second episode of Michonne finds Rick was much better than the first. Really liked some of those new characters she joined up with.. To bad they won't be in future episodes.
Really wish Rick would kill mush mouth(can't forget the way she talked when leading the garbage pail kids)..
Maybe they are waiting to let Michonne find out she's the one that took Rick and get her revenge.

Well, that's a wrap.

Rick and Michonne singlehandedly take out 3000 bad guys of the CRM, now they are good guys. America is coming back. Darryl already saved Europe. Can't wait for the reunion before its Russia and China zombie time.

I though this Rick and Michonne one was ok, but honestly, it woulda probably just been a whole lot better if the last few episodes were them just going home rather than defeating the strongest army assembled in the world.

Quick - dive under this tarp and splash some water on us so the bombs don't blow us up like the other 3,000 people. :lmao:

Darryl story 5 times better then Rick's and 100 times better then Negan visits New York.

Seems, other than a final reunion, the Rick storyline is a one and done.

We can only hope. And there needs to be no further reunions. Let it end.
I could handle one final episode, once Daryl, and now Carol joining him, story concludes.
Bring everyone back together, show the rebuilding of society and answer the question we've been asking since season one.

Who the bleep is mowing the grass??? :lmao:

Started rewatching the original Walking Dead from the start. Forgot how great it was early on and it's really sucked me back in. One thing I still know for certain regarding the early seasons and the later seasons is Carl is the worst character on television. I stand by that firmly.

First two seasons were fantastic. Started to plummet midway through season three. Then was just bad. So much potential wasted.

Yep. I don't remember where it tails off. I'm at the end of season 2 currently. I do remember I loved the prison season. Liked Keegan. I think when it has a simple storyline it was great. Started to get complicated later on and got silly.

Back half of 3 was pretty weak, that was when they fired their 2nd show-runner and re-edited the last episode which makes that season finale a jumbled mess. 4 is awesome nearly all the way thru IMO. 5 has some great episodes but the number/ratio of boring/headscratching episodes and writing starts to increase steadily from there on. Glenn’s dumpster dive is midway thru season 6, thats when my wife and I really started to lose interest. We stuck through it for a season or so after that but we’d lost a lot of interest and switched to catch up binging mode by then, it was no longer appointment TV anymore. And this is from someone who absolutely loved those first seasons, had the comics, i’ve still got a Funko of Rick on my work desk. They just killed the golden goose with bad writing and AMC being so cheap.

when was the "look at the flowers" episode? to me, that was the last great episode... I think right after the end of the Prison, right?

I didnt dig the governor- IIRC, that was the beginning of the Our Gang vs Your Gang trope that I found really stupid and repetitive. although the Lunch pail kids were freaking hilariously awesome.

Garbage Patch or Pail Kids were great. The degradation of the English language in a matter of months was truly amazing. Even better was the head muppet spoke fine once we saw her away from there (one of the spin offs). I wish we got a flashback of a bad zombie attack where the communication took too long and they lost half the people. We see one GPK abbreviating his warnings and it saves the rest. The language builds from there and they thwart all enemies due to the amazing communication network nodes in every stack of garbage.

Correct, prison arc ended at mid-season 4 break. Look at the Flowers was somewhere in the back half of season 4 (i’d have to google it to know exactly where.) The two-parter with Terminus that ended 4 and started 5 was one of the last truly great episodes IMO (bottle rocket explosion notwithstanding). A few standouts after that but 4 was definitely the peak IMO.

Garbage Pail kids were so dumb and are a tv show only addition. They are definitely post Alexandria, something like season 7 when the main characters were looking for allies against Neegan IIRC.

I just did some googling, and season 7 episode 1 was the end - that was the bat episode, and the next episode introduced the Kingdom, then the garbage people in episode 8. I made it to the heads on stakes (episode 9, episode 15) before stopping, but I was annoyed from S7E1 onward. I could see rewatching through season 6 and stopping there.

Juuuuust about through season 3 of my rewatch. Still enjoying it. Wanted to comment on two things as I watch this time.

Low ammo. They are always low on ammo, yet empty full magazines every 5 minutes. Ha ha

Weapon accuracy. Some of the greatest shooting accuracy I have ever seen. Anyone know how hard it is to empty a clip with a handgun resulting in 15 straight head shots all from 15 plus feet? Ya, it's impossible. Ha ha

I am doing a rewatch as well (and a reread of the comics, trying to roughly keep them in sink).

I just finished Season 6.

You are so right about the accuracy. It feels like 95% of every shot they take hits perfectly, no matter if they are leaning out of moving cars, running with their backs turned, ducking behind cover...

I am even more upset on this rewatch/reread of what TV did to comic Andrea. They took the best character from the comics and made her the worst character on the TV show. They got almost everything wrong with this choice.

Couple episodes into season 6 of my first rewatch and I'm still enjoying it. Had forgotten how bad a$$ Carol was. Those strangers came into Alexandria and she took one of their outfits and just started slaughtering people. Just epic television. Ha ha

Dead City Season 2 isn't too bad. I kept watching because of Negan. If he goes full throttle with new Lucille in the finale it will have been worth it.

It is better than season 1 that is for sure. Still feels a little disjointed, but the glass skyway in last week's episode was a nice touch.
Hate the fact that the witch somehow survived. Let me guess, Glenn's son saved her

The glass bridge was van flip moment - high strength glass doesn’t break like that.

I missed the part about her not dead....
