Smoky Burgess C

(54, 55, 57, 59, 61, 62)

Has a good bat for a catcher and provides a backup to Munson who is a little low on PAs so he will need a good backup.

1d6, rolled once.

Roll set 1

Die rolls: 6

Roll total: 6

I think his 3rd best season. Should do well as my backup catcher and maybe a platoon partner with Munson.

Yah, you have to pay first and then type the info in for the private league number from the first page.

23.15- RHP Wild Bill Donovan- 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1907, 1908

WWI Veteran

YES!!!!! A best year roll to cap off my draft!

366 IP, 2.29 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, .219 OAV, 5.48 K/9, 2.79 BB/9, .09 HR/9.

Wow, I needed this roll. Easily my #3 starter, could even be my #2 starter (depends on how pissed I am at Wilbur Wood by the time the season starts).

THIS CONCLUDES MY DRAFT, MY ROSTER IS FULL.

Edit: To put in proof of roll.

My average season roll is 3.6 so that is right near the average based on chance. So if I drafted well, I should have a winning record.

Bassler was an outstanding offensive and defensive player. Baseball analyst Bill James wrote that, "if his major league career wasn’t so short he would rank among the top 20 catchers of all time.” ("The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract," (2001), p. 482). Because of the brevity of his major league career, James ranks Bassler as the 47th best catcher of all time.
Only my second Tiger. Too bad I got his worst season.

My make up picks:

19th round - Jose Canseco (88/90/91/94/95/96)

20th round - Red Faber (15/16/21/22/23/29)

21st round - Juan Samuel (83/84/85/86/87/94)

22nd round - **** Dietz (67/68/69/70/71/73)

23rd round - Bill Singer (67/68/69/70/72/73)

When accounting for number of available PAs, my starting 8's log5 OPS is .992.

Without the PA adjustment, it's .995. Not too different.
