*OFFICIAL* Thread: WIS X and the Cluster of Sim (3 Viewers)

I'm going to throw you guys a little curveball and go a different direction than may be expected from me.

1.24 Addie Joss, SP "Mr. Whip"

Years: 03,04,06,07,08,09

2.01 Mordecai Brown, SP "Three Fingers"

Years: 04,05,06,07,08,09

In This Format, I can't pass up the certain quality innings. Not many guys out there offer 6 quality SP seasons. The only whammy in these rolls is '05 Brown. I'll be happy with all 11 others.

Joss was a great pick. I almost took him at 13. Pretty comparable to Cy... fewer innings and a little more variance, but his #1 season is much better.

Not sure that was a curveball or I just know you too well. Right after I picked I looked down the line and figured you would take two pitchers at the turn. If Shake would have taken Lajoie before me, I would have taken Joss but I'm going best available for this whole draft.

We have now rolled 4540526 dice!
You #######s are getting lucky on your rolls. This sucks. Although I like the added chance to this draft I'm never lucky with rolls as demonstrated by me usually picking in the middle of the WIS draft or later.

This draft would've been better to do back in the early days when nobody knew what the hell they were doing.

Now that everyone makes good picks, the dice have too much power.

no... because we are all just as likely to get the bad seasons as the good...All someo s uf not knowing what we were doing would do is make the gap bigger between the haves and the have nots...

 I'll be #####ing about the dice this whole draft because I know I'll be getting middling years the whole way. :blackdot: I'll check-in when I get up in a few hours and if I'm not up (doubtful), someone contact me at BZ tomorrow and I'll make my pick. :bye:

Looks like I rolled '03 Joss and '06 Brown. Not thrilled with Joss, but I'll take the Brown roll.

Tough pick, I was debating 3 guys. I went with Seaver and the OAV+ consistancey.

Well RnR usually drafts offense early and often so two SP's is a curve from him IMO. That's why I went Speaker over a pitcher at 1.23.

1d6, rolled once.

I know Koya is around somewhere. Hoping the two players I am am targeting make it back to me.

Well, I cried embrace the risk, and Im 0/2 so far.

62 it is.

That said, solid average and AVG+ and a very good HR rate for a righty with +2 HRs to left. Consisency was Hanks hallmark, and this I suppose is an example of that.

Alexander was the second of the three I was eyeing at the Seaver pick. The third is still available

I actually had Alexander typed in but the OAV+ numbers made me think twice, still a very good pick.

The ##### of it is I don't have any other pitchers on my short list, The 6 I had listed went in the last 10 picks

And I am ***jing drunk, and cannot possibly do research at this point

And ianfitzy is here and I don't want to hold things up, so I'm going to pick a hitter and regret it in the morning

Gibve me 5 minutes

Going with some more consistency here

Giuseppe Paolo DiMaggio

Picking years now, but will give me solid all around production and spolid defense

DiMag and Musial, could do worse I suppse

2.07- Rube Waddell SP (02, 03, 04, 05, 07, 08)

I really wanted Alexander but Waddell will give me consistency in years and very low HR numbers and alot of IP. I would prefer a hitter here but pitching seems to be flying off the board and I need an inning eater.

Another lucky roll...

I get Waddells 1904 year.

411 IP 1.62 ERA 1.04 WHIP 8.20 k/9

Roll set 1

Die rolls: 3

Roll total: 3

I did do that last one right though for future ######ence?
It took Widbil three tries. By the time I figured out that the dropped roll was in brackets and gave him 1963, he had rolled two more times. The three was the first result and it'll be the one that stands. It shouldn't be that difficult.

I am at work all day, still can't get WIS, but I can get to Baseball Reference and I can get to the first of the two dice rolling sites, so I shouldn't be the road block today.
